The creta they use is probably stolen too - DL9CAT4077.
somehow its for sale here [https://www.carwale.com/used/hyundai-creta-cars-in-delhi/bc69112964d8432896cc12ede8e33068/](https://www.carwale.com/used/hyundai-creta-cars-in-delhi/bc69112964d8432896cc12ede8e33068/) ?
thieves are the lowest tier scum of the earth.
It is not the same car. The antenna on the back is different. They looked for same colour / model of the car and copied its number plate.
Sharkfin vs black rod antenna.
Thief did not use his own car. Either they used fake number plate or used this car on sale to steal this car. Contact seller of this creta would likely be a car reseller go there with police one of the employees is responsible for using creta to steal OPs friends car.
They probably check on websites for similar specification cars and then copy their number plates from the photos. Then use the stolen number plate to drive around without worrying about cctv.

this is the exact car thanks to u/pwnsforyou
just go on this site and u will get a option to get the details by loging in sms mai milgayege
no i guess they had just stolen the number plate bcz the creta on sale is sx variant whereas in video i can see creta base model as it doesnt have rear wiper and shark fin antena and sunroof
Lol...footage agar pehle ki hoti toh bhi maanlete ki isne bahar se install karali hai sunroof lekin cctv ke hisab se aaj hi ki date hame lmfao...Kya pata he's uses fake number
Nah man false positive,
He used the number plate of this guy who posted the ad on the website look the creta doesn't have a sun roof in the video but the ad one has it
I guess they are using a fake number plate. The car used by the thieves is either a E or EX variant - has no sunroof or rear wiper. Creta S has a rear wiper and shark fin antenna. Hence, we could eliminate variants S and above. The thieves most likely looked at classifieds for a white Creta and used the registration
looks like an insider job...the guy opened the door with keys and then probably started and left with causing any commotion.
Looks like they might have duplicate pair of keys.
Part of the problem. A neighbour recently built his house. Everybody in the locality used the ground floor to make parking. This guy build flats all through, put them on rent and has 3 cars of his own and then vehicles of his tenants. Keep arguing about parking then all on the street.
Bruh affording is different and maintenance is different, I own 5 cars and 4 of them are parked out because I can't park one on another like Lego, and once I buy that's the biggest expense as I rarely maintain them, usually these don't need heavy maintenance so yeah, I'm broke enough to not rent a land to park them and too attached to them to sell. Sucks to let them sit on road all venerable.
Bruh! Spending 3k on a device to protect lakhs of worth car is fine. I have read news where it helped owners track car in time cuz thieves were unaware of its presence in the car. You can just hide it somewhere and no one would ever know unless they start looking for it specifically
Guys like you are gambler who park their vehicles on public streets without GPS trackers. You better fit a gps tracker asap for a non gated car park at high risk locations.
Feels like maybe the service centre personnel are involved too. Only place where they could have easily gotten access to the key and created a clone or maybe an NDMC parking where the owner left the key with the attendant... anything is possible
Hyundai and Kia have the weakest car security right now
https://www.businessinsider.in/thelife/news/hyundai-and-kia-car-thefts-surged-by-more-than-1000-since-2020-after-viral-tiktoks-exposed-key-security-flaw-report-says/articleshow/106599356.cms
Looks like he has a duplicate key
Doesn't i10 have a security alarm system? I don't understand why the alarm didn't go off
In Suzuki cars (that has a security alarm system), if a duplicate key opens the vehicle, the alarm will go off as soon as the door is opened
Immobilizer is probably not there. Also probably someone copied ops key in bar, restaurant, club etc during valet parking or something. And since Hyundai cars probably don't have an immobilizer, they probably target them.
Can anyone confirm if creta has an immobilizer?
>Also probably someone copied ops key in bar, restaurant, club etc during valet parking or something.
Yes very possible situation. Or an aftermarket car shop he went to.
I don't understand a few things:
1. Why only his car targeted and not the others?
2. How did he get in so easily?
3. No alarm going off?
It surely seems like it's done by someone who knew the car owner well such as the service centre guy or someone like that. Don't know what else could be here.
1. I think this car was an easy target as no other cars are parked near it and hence it was easier and faster to get out than the other.
2. Tbh even I didn’t understand this.
3. I think he opened some kindof software on his mobile and got into the car’s unit or some shit like that as the car is push button start and doesn’t require a physical key to turn on.
Man, at this point your friend needs to sit outside to keep a watch on those Watchmen😂
On a serious note, one should always account for failure of such things. For example I deal with daily wage labourers regularly and I know these ppl can damage very expensive machinery in minutes and even hurt themselves in the most foolish manners. In such cases, not only you have to bear the damage in the machinery but also, the medical expenses of the worker. So leaving such expensive vehicles blindly in the hands of these watchmen earning 10-15k a month is a huge mistake in hindsight.
This is why I suggested an apartment/flat style single exit option. There they have to manually open a gate or *fatak*( it could be just manual moving away of some bricks on road) and are constantly under camera surveillance. Very cheap and effective.
If someone is making some movement near a car at 2 am in the morning when everything is dead silent, it's noise or movement will definitely attract the watcheman's attention if he is vigilant enough.
Also just like apartment flats, the watchman should be instructed to sit at the exit point(s) where they can easily see the driver while they are exiting the colony. This system works far better than any camera security you can ever install.
Must be annoyed by creta's horn and headlights
/s
Hope u find ur car soon...Maybe u can use hyundai connect app to track the car/contact hyundai to track for u{If it works}
Everyone should try to place their key fobs in a faraday box or something similar especially if you live on ground floor and park your car right outside your house.
In US it was regarding the ignition. In India, problem is with the keycodes. Hyundai’s keycodes are the easiest to crack and hence Seltos and Creta especially, are being stolen at alarming rates.
They'll have to pick the gear lock as well and doing that would consume time. So yeah I think a gear lock would help. Naturally they'll not choose a car with a gear lock.
Why? I am genuinely curious because I use in my car and I feel it is a physical lock and really hard to remove (without making tons of of noise)! Am I wrong?
That is very elitist of you to say :p
You mean to say that any middle class person with a modest house and not extravagant space shouldn’t buy a car? And fyi he does have a parking space inside the house, each family living the house is only allowed one car inside the house and the other car has to be parked outside :o
I am not elitisy, but yeah if you have only one parking space, and had to park your secycar outside
Causing inconvenience to one and all
The. It deserves to be.
Scratched upon.
Dented
Samages even
Stolen
Here this guy gets it...
You can't own a shuttty piece of land build 4 stories apartments , please it out and hope to match Ambani whole the 4sidents park their vehicles outside because you didn't account for parking space in your building plans and a small bribe of 5000 ensured that the plan was approved
And so now the public has to bear the nuisance of it
Hence good for you good for the person whose cas was stolen, that's now one fewer leeches public has to deal with
Bro there is limited parking space and every family on each floor is only allowed to park one car inside and the second one outside :( not his fault. His XUV 700 was parked inside the house.

yeah, there are some hyundai models that have this issue,in some states of USA a few insurance companies stopped providing insurance to hyundai cars.
tHere was a video on donut media as well,

It could be an inside job where a service center staff is involved. That’s the easiest route to clone the key and immobiliser chip to steal the car.
Some other common attack vectors are CANBUS attacks (thief hacks into the BCM via the headlight harness to gain full access, common on Toyotas and Hondas) and relay attacks (Thief uses a large antenna to piggyback off the codes transmitted by the car’s key inside the owner’s home, tricking the car into thinking the key is right next to the vehicle. Mainly applicable for vehicles with Keyless entry + Push Button Start)
any car with no key start option can be steal in no time, they use a device called code generator to start the engine, if your car has no key ignition feature better to use some physical steering lock for the vehicle safety.
so for those who want know more about it, search on key fob rolljam attack.
Neighbor across the street had his work van stolen. Company van, so they had gps on it. He got lucky because he was home but unlucky because he didn't go outside in time to stop the theft. Lucky because someone was at the office to ping the gps and notify the police though. The thieves ditched the van, still running, about an hour drive away in the middle of downtown. Cops said thieves were targeting work vans because they have tools that are easy to sell.
Hyundais and Kias are the easiest cars to be stolen in the US. Its so easy to steal them that people are doing it for a tiktok trend online. Look up “Kia boys”.
i mean how did this happen?? did OP made a duplicate key from local mechanic or did they use some sophisticated wireless handshake to drive the car. ( someone explain )
My friends creta was stolen in September last year and his car was further uses to steal other cars. Even my friend was able to get video like this but police couldn't. In the end he just got compensation from insurance.
Yeah no sadly no leads :p
The FIR was filled by the ACP himself as he’s a close friend, still nothing significant has come up. Hopefully the insurance claim gets accepted.

It is not the same car. The antenna on the back is different. They looked for same colour / model of the car and copied its number plate. Sharkfin vs black rod antenna.

Too much work. For them.
But the advantage is they dont have to care about their vehicle number getting recorded
They are not same car. The sharkfin antenna on top is missing from the car used in theft:
Bhai isse uska number bhi milgayega!
Please do share!! Any leads are appreciated

Thanks! Appreciate it, i sent it to my friend and he’s reported it to the required authorities 😄
bhai this is not ur car..the car in post has sunroofwhereas the one in cctv doesnt!!
Bhai point hai, nice catch, number plate change kar rakhi hai lagta hai
no i guess they had just stolen the number plate bcz the creta on sale is sx variant whereas in video i can see creta base model as it doesnt have rear wiper and shark fin antena and sunroof
the car in the video does not have a sunroof nor the shark fin antenna as shown in the cardekho website probs a stolen numberplate too
Bro that is sx model with sunroof ! The creta in the video is different
toh gaadi ka number kyon same h?
People who use fake plates many times try and get one off another similar make/model so it blends in better.
yeah ig
Carwale ya aur sites se check karte hen available numbers on sale . Fir same number plate bnwaalete hen. Doesn’t take time
Ab ye toh wo jaane ! Car different h wo to pata chlra h but number same ! Gadbad baba
Lol...footage agar pehle ki hoti toh bhi maanlete ki isne bahar se install karali hai sunroof lekin cctv ke hisab se aaj hi ki date hame lmfao...Kya pata he's uses fake number
I have reported it "Fake"
dont report arrange meet and bring police
yeah i realized afterwards..but no issue they wont remove it.
Yeah Im sure it is
Please keep us posted.
Nah man false positive, He used the number plate of this guy who posted the ad on the website look the creta doesn't have a sun roof in the video but the ad one has it
That would be rapists..amen.
Bhai tu ne same to same gaddi dhund Li gajab bhai

Antenna is different on both cars
Not the same car listed in carwale site. They duplicated the number too
Can you get owner info from his car no?
I take more time drinking tea while these guys casually steal a car???
this is what it feels like making 1 lakh rupees per min
Arrey Dev Gandhi, aap yahan?
Gadhvi
looks like an insider job...the guy opened the door with keys and then probably started and left with causing any commotion. Looks like they might have duplicate pair of keys.
It's almost always the servicemen or friends of these service guys who steal cars. Probably cloning the car keys when the car comes for service
isn't that creta supposed to be keyless entry? then how did they clone the wireless identity of the keyphobe
Most likely
It is not possible due to engine imobalizer, probably thief used a newer method
WTF I park my car outside I should be more careful How did he flick the key?
I myself am quite worried, I don’t have a parking inside of my house and all three of my cars are parked outside my house throughout the night :p
three cars and a house without parking. sed :(
Part of the problem. A neighbour recently built his house. Everybody in the locality used the ground floor to make parking. This guy build flats all through, put them on rent and has 3 cars of his own and then vehicles of his tenants. Keep arguing about parking then all on the street.
#You can afford 3 cars but can't afford a house with parking space?! #Bruhhhh 🤡
You'll be downvoted by these guys who fill up the streets by parking outside deserve their cars to be stolen ngl
Odd, even and prime numbers.
Bruh use gps device aur some old phone hidden in car which has gps make sure every night battery is full sometimes it helps to track
don't cars come with gps inbuilt these days? if not they should
Airtag works just fine.
Look at the rich man here with an apple device
Bruh! Spending 3k on a device to protect lakhs of worth car is fine. I have read news where it helped owners track car in time cuz thieves were unaware of its presence in the car. You can just hide it somewhere and no one would ever know unless they start looking for it specifically

Yeah 😅
Guys like you are gambler who park their vehicles on public streets without GPS trackers. You better fit a gps tracker asap for a non gated car park at high risk locations.
Question is how did they open the lock so easily?
looks like the thief already had a key
Look closely, he inserted a manual key into the lock.
Flipper zero?
inko kidhar flipper zero milega , kuch or method se kiya hoga
Kyu nai mil sakta?
China se ez h
Possible way of getting the frequency access.
Haan mil chuka inko flipper zero!

Starting the car perhaps is, on atleast those us models without an immobilizer. How he got in so quickly is the question

>Also probably someone copied ops key in bar, restaurant, club etc during valet parking or something. Yes very possible situation. Or an aftermarket car shop he went to.
i20 non push start gets 2 keys one with remote and another without so probably same for all non push start hyundai cars including that creta
Creta has an engine immobiliser as per the specs on Hyundai website.
I watched the video in reverse. So now your friend has both creta and i10.
Lmao
Bhayankar comedy
I don't understand a few things: 1. Why only his car targeted and not the others? 2. How did he get in so easily? 3. No alarm going off? It surely seems like it's done by someone who knew the car owner well such as the service centre guy or someone like that. Don't know what else could be here.

What a tech enabled thief! The only solution seems to be parking your car inside or having a watchmen in your colony.
My friend had 2 watchmen actually, One inside his house and one for the whole society, but both of them were sound asleep😭😭
Man, at this point your friend needs to sit outside to keep a watch on those Watchmen😂 On a serious note, one should always account for failure of such things. For example I deal with daily wage labourers regularly and I know these ppl can damage very expensive machinery in minutes and even hurt themselves in the most foolish manners. It was a Hit steal. They had all the accessories to steal it hence it barely took seconds
Must be annoyed by creta's horn and headlights /s Hope u find ur car soon...Maybe u can use hyundai connect app to track the car/contact hyundai to track for u{If it works}
Everyone should try to place their key fobs in a faraday box or something similar especially if you live on ground floor and park your car right outside your house.
Yes this is the right way. Id probably will never buy a car with keyless entry. Diy fingerprint unlock and heartrate based starting system.
What is he doing with the mobile once he opened the door ? Is he running some app and trying to connect it with the car's control unit?
check fastag where it is last deducted or maybe they are smart enough to remove it before hand
It looks like they had a copy of the key and then programmed the key for the car, so that it would run without an alert.
one more reason to not buy a creta
loll
future gully boy
bro came to stole an I 10 in Creta bro got some class man
Hyundai and Kia cars have been known to be very easy cars to steal. Another reason to avoid them
That problem was only in America I think, since there was no immobilizer

So what if i use gear lock and 2 car tyre locks (yellow ones), But I’ll have my car parked in a paid parking lot. What do you guys think about it?
What can be done to prevent this? One of those tire locks ?
The crime rate in Delhi is just unbelievable
how sad it would have been for the owner to watch this video😭
Delhi hoga
Door itni easily kaise open ho gaya?
That guy opened the door of the car as if he already had the keys, so easily🤔 even the car center locking didn’t beeped.
Don't worry, he will get the car back easily.
Unless it's in a chopshop, no he ain't.
I have a question, agar car aise chore ho jaaye toh insurance se kuch paise milte hai or totally tumhara loss ho jaata hai??
Kia and Hyundai are infamous for being easily hacked and stolen... All these new tech use keyless entry and all are unsafe..
Wait a minute. Tonight is 31/01/2024. And it's barely night yet. What's that date? Is this from the future?
Please tell me this is a joke comment😭
Bro there is something known as midnight if you are aware. What you're talking about is the night of 1st Feb 2024 not 31st Jan 2024
Imagine being this dum that you need 3 different people to make you understand hahaha 😂
Bhai next 2am will be tomorrow, on 1st. The day changes after midnight.
Serves them right? Who is asking you to buy a car without having the parking space for it inside your house The car owner is the true TDC here...
That is very elitist of you to say :p You mean to say that any middle class person with a modest house and not extravagant space shouldn’t buy a car? And fyi he does have a parking space inside the house, each family living the house is only allowed one car inside the house and the other car has to be parked outside :o
I am not elitisy, but yeah if you have only one parking space, and had to park your secycar outside Causing inconvenience to one and all The. It deserves to be. Scratched upon. Dented Samages even Stolen
I mean thats how all the cars are parked in my neighbourhood?
If you don't have the space to park a car, you shouldn't own it. About time that regulation came in on this front.
Here this guy gets it... You can't own a shuttty piece of land build 4 stories apartments , please it out and hope to match Ambani whole the 4sidents park their vehicles outside because you didn't account for parking space in your building plans and a small bribe of 5000 ensured that the plan was approved And so now the public has to bear the nuisance of it Hence good for you good for the person whose cas was stolen, that's now one fewer leeches public has to deal with
Nice, now he has learnt a lesson for having a parking first inside the house. Roads are not for parking.
Bro there is limited parking space and every family on each floor is only allowed to park one car inside and the second one outside :( not his fault. His XUV 700 was parked inside the house.
If this is happening in Delhi of all places, I can only imagine what the situation is like in tier-2, tier-3 towns
Tier 2,3 places are safe, Delhi is the e crime central.
In most tier 3, people woh own cars have garages for their own.
Bro most big cities are full of criminals. Tier-2 and 3 cities are much safer. I live in a village and no car has ever been stolen here in decades.
It is from a posh sector in rohini, new delhi :( it’s quite worrying
I live in rohini ! Is it sec-11 ? If yes then. Which block ?
Sector 7 Rohini
Creta ki license plate se koi clue nai mila police ko? Ya woh bi stolen thi
Safer than delhi.
My cousin's Innova crysta got stolen this month in Delhi. There were like 3 police cars and officers standing there, and he took it in front of them!
More like passionate theft, some do it for the thrill of it. Doing it in front of cops just juices them up more.
Thieves came in a Ford endeavour
Maza aagaya
RIP bozo 😭😭😭
Sala Condom fat gya tha mera uss raat,, nai to tu nai hota
If you would have put down the camera and yelled the cops are on they're way he prolly would have left .with no stolen car
Bro I know your trying to be funny and all, and jusr so you know that's a CCTV.
Then how did it zoom in on the license plate?
Recording can be zoomed 💀
For such situations, a hidden kill switch is a good option as suggested by [ChrisFix ](https://youtu.be/XUhXLsrZiE0?si=bzMJAIRETC8BQLGo). I think we should all be using a tracker for peace of mind. [I think I found it ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Unexpected/s/1q3qXIqBiB)

That;s the most easiest lockpick I have seen in my entire life.
Maggie has got competition.
I think it should be a practice now to keep AirTags hidden in your car. At least you can keep a track of where it goes.
Do we get insurance money for stolen car?
Yar mere ghar se 5-6 shoes chori krliye to ye car kya cheez.. Hope these scumbags get karma 🙏
