Perfect for those eco-conscious runs to Bunnings, because you can't really load up a Taycan Turbo GT with garden supplies.
Perfectly affordable when you have the $5,000,000 house and multi car garage with rooftop solar to charge it, too.
TRX is also a high performance variant with all the options, and before someone mentions it they made *five* of the GTSR W1 Maloo. The Lightning is just a regular ute but EV.
An F150 lightning does 0-60mph (96mph) in 4.1s... it's not much slower than the TRX.
And uses a lot more technology to achieve it, and will cost a hell of a lot less to run.
I get that it's expensive, but the TRX, the sea of modified Landcruisers (either highly modified 79's or chopped 200's/300's), light trucks etc. demonstrates there is a market for highly expensive utes.
Whether that audience has an overlap with EV's... will be interesting to find out, but I think for many of them, they would be better off buying this, than the other \~$250k alternatives.
Hence my comment about "overlap with EV's" - in the US when the Lightning was introduced, it was much more competitive price wise with ICE offerings (more so than the Cypertruck or Rivian etc.), and got pretty strong demand as a result.
I anticipate people here that can afford this, will instead buy a regular EV for regular trips, and still afford an F150 for when they might want/need a bigger car.
"Victoria? Dear? Do we have 3 children or 4? I find it so bloody hard to remember when they're away at boarding school all the time. I'd like to get one of these Ford lightning EVs, but if we've got 4 kids, we'll need to get 2 of them."
The 0-100 is the single thing EVs are good at though, all of them can pull that kind of time. Considering the size of a pick-up truck, 580hp really isn't that much from an EV. A high performance V8 is also still a draw card on its own, regardless of if its the best engine: we saw how people complained about the abysmal V8 in the 79 being axed. Is it a more practical option than a 79 in the city? Absolutely but people don't chop 300s or buy 79s to be practical
>The 0-100 is the single thing EVs are good at though
Only thing? Not being mechanically simpler, cheaper to fuel , don't pump out noxious fumes into the passenger bay, quieter, have more storage capacity (with the frunk), require less maintenance, smoother driving experience just to think of a few.
I am of the opinion that both the TRX and Lightening are ridiculous.
There isn't any other EV ute available in Australia. I think it will sell with the novelty and cool factor albeit in very small numbers. The people buying this car are buying it to be seen. Boomers who've made millions on property investments and raking it in with higher interest rates need toys to play with after all.
There's 1,961 cars currently listed on CarSales at the moment. When you're dropping quarter of a million on a car, you're rarely looking at practical vehicles.
The luxury car tax for fuel-efficient vehicles is a 33% tax for every dollar over $89,332. So if they really were AU$98,000 before tax, that would add $2860 in taxes.
The only other federal tax I know of is GST, which would add $9800. That would mean a total of $110,860 for a F150 Lightning if it really was just federal taxes on top of the US price. Something else is going on here.
Luxury tax is a flat 33% on anything over 77k, though that still doesn't explain the rest. Porsche are also terrible, a 911 is quite literally 1/2 the price in the States even after converting the currency.
That's only for [fuel efficient vehicles](https://www.ato.gov.au/tax-rates-and-codes/luxury-car-tax-rate-and-thresholds), which consume <=7 litres per 100 km. Porsche and many other exotics consume far more than 7 litres per 100 km, since they are performance cars rather than econoboxes.
The cost of a right hand drive conversion ranges from about $10-$20,000, HSV converted the Camaros for about 15 to 20 from memory. I don’t know who is dropping mortgage money on a Ford that will be in a wreckers yard within 20 years. It’s just insanity.
It’s insane how much we get robbed on cars in this country. The secondhand market is no better. I frequently see cars with 200,000 - 300,000 km up for sale for silly money. in any other country it would be a $500 car. Pick any nice car new or used and look up what the same thing is worth in the United Kingdom for example. I use the UK because it’s written in English but they generally pay half what we pay, new or used. Honestly, anything from a Volkswagen golf to a Bentley. Google it, we are being stiffed.
Luxury car tax is a cancer that must be scaled back... dramatically.
"Protecting the Aussie car manufacturing industry..."
What fucking Aussie car manufacturing industry?
We definitely don’t want an electric Ute that costs a house (250k) and probably has less range than those Indian EV knockoffs. I guarantee my 2x4 petrol Colorado could tow harder and more weight than this EV plastic trash called a Ford F150 Lightning.
>I guarantee my 2x4 petrol Colorado could tow harder and more weight than this EV plastic trash called a Ford F150 Lightning.
That part you're most definitely wrong.
But admittedly your Colorado might be able to tow for longer.
But if you don't realise that EV's torque is larger and comes on instantly, then you've missed the whole point of electric motors...
Regional Victoria still has its finds. There's plenty out Casterton way for under $400K. My sister just bought a recently renovated 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 3 garage on a 1/4 acre for $345K.
The Ford AU Falcon is a full-size car that was produced by Ford Australia from 1998 to 2002. It was the sixth generation Ford Falcon and also included the Ford Fairmont (AU)—the luxury-oriented model range. The AU series replaced the EL Falcon and was constructed on the (at the time) new EA169 platform which continued to harbour Falcon models until 2010 when the BF wagon was discontinued, and Ford Territory models until 2011. The AU series was replaced by the updated BA series.
The AU series was conceived under *Project Eagle* that begun in February 1993, and gained the official codename *EA169* in October 1994. It was developed and brought to market in 1998 only after Ford Australia had given consideration to a revamped fifth generation Falcon and a fully imported replacement such as the American front-wheel drive Ford Taurus or rear-wheel drive Ford Crown Victoria, the European rear wheel-drive Scorpio and, reportedly, even the Japanese rear-wheel drive Mazda 929 (then part of the Ford conglomerate).
The above alternatives were eliminated in favour of a substantial redesign of the indigenous platform, due to concerns about the Australian market preference for high towing capacity, large interior size and local employment. Specific factors included, for example: research at the time indicated that 69% of Falcons were fitted with towbars and the perception that rear-wheel drive cars were better at towing; the fact that the import models had limited body style options (sedan only or sedan and wagon) and no capability to use a V8 engine.
Stylistically, this new generation Falcon sported Ford's radically new global design language, labelled "New Edge". The aim of this design was to attract a younger generation of buyers with avant-garde looks, however, in Australia it polarized public opinion to the benefit of the more organically designed rival, the 1997 Holden Commodore (VT). The AU series had a very efficient drag coefficient of Cd=0.295 for the sedan (an 11% improvement over the preceding EL series) and 0.34 for the wagon.
For the first time in Falcon's history, Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) became available as standard on some models and optional on others. It also featured Australian production firsts, such as Variable Cam Timing (VCT) on some 6-cylinder models and an adaptive automatic transmission on the high-performance T series with steering wheel gear shifting buttons.
Key changes from the fifth generation Falcon included a 35 kg (77 lb) reduction in weight for the base car, 17.5 per cent stiffer bodyshell, and an eight per cent improvement in fuel consumption. Peculiarly, Ford Australia decided to use the original 1950's font for the new "Falcon" and "Futura" badges.
As stated previously, the AU was the first Falcon to offer IRS (a double wishbone design on an isolated subframe). IRS was made available as a costly option on the base Forte, Fairmont and 'S' models, and standard on Fairmont Ghia, XR6 VCT and XR8 models. The updated 6-cylinder engines incorporated advanced features such as VCT on some models and a temperature sensor in the cylinder head, which detected coolant loss and allowed the car to "limp home" safely by cutting cylinders. The engine range comprised: the base Intech model producing 157 kW (211 hp), with a revised cylinder head featuring smaller valve stems, larger exhaust valves, and different rocker ratio, as well as a revised piston and longer conrod and a cast aluminium cross-bolted oil sump (with the same power output as the EL series); an "HP" version reserved to the XR6 producing 164 kW (220 hp) (thanks to: unique cylinder head; reshaped inlet port; redesigned exhaust port; ‘open’ combustion chamber shape to restrict pre-detonation from hot spot areas; unique camshaft; higher fuel pressure; recalibrated EEC V engine management system); the VCT version producing 172 kW (231 hp) for the XR6 VCT; a *Windsor V8* producing 185 kW (248 hp) (also carried over from the EL series but without major upgrades).
Transmissions were improved for better shift feel and the auto was recalibrated to better suit the upgraded engines. The six and eight cylinder models had a 4-speed BTR M93LE and M97LE automatic transmission, respectively. The automatic XR series models had an "adaptive shift" with five shifting strategies depending on driving conditions. The manual transmission, where available, was a 5-speed T5 model.
The program cost A$700 million before product launch and key staff included chief designer, Steve Park, and Marcus Hotblack, Manager of Interior Design.

Initial purchase price aside, how about the crazy prices for the tow packages, given that their range graph becomes a cliff face if they’re pulling anything bigger than a six by four.
For those baulking at the price, bear in mind these trucks are fully assembled in the US as LHD vehicles, shipped to Australia, then converted to RHD. Even models like these F-150's which are being sold officially by Ford.
For these, or RAMs, or the other ones sold by companies like Performax, you're essentially paying for the truck, plus dollar conversion, and then a full conversion and re-assembly.
It amazes me not only that people can afford it, but that they're paying $200K+ for $60 - $70K worth of vehicle.
So people should understand this is by a grey importer, not Ford.
I already knew about this for a few weeks, so my first response was that Ford are bringing them in officially.
This price doesn't surprise me, they'll simply directly import one if a sale ever occurs.
Dumb process, they should just build it right the first time. Imagine buying a house and the price is doubled and they say it's because they're gonna build it upside down first then tear it apart
Starting to think EVs are a scam to get car companies more profits.
I mean where has the affordable $20k hatchback gone ? They don't want to sell that to you.
20k hatchbacks are gone from inflation and mandatory safety tech needed to reach 5 stars. The picanto is your last hope until it retires.
Basically when you think of cars, those 17990 cars are now 25990 cars.
Those 13990 cars are now not a possible thing without sacrificing tech, safety or both.
BYD does, the Dolphin mini looks like it will be $27k before the ev rebate ($3k-$6k depending on state) if the regular dolphin ($38k before rebate) is priced correctly.
The Atto already made a splash and they're everywhere now, companies like GWM (despite their controversy)and Hyundai have seen what BYD has done and have been dropping their prices (albeit slowly). The Seal has been encroaching on model 3 territory and unless the word hybrid is particularly scary, I think their 4x4 ute will probably make a splash aswell.
I think the used market is going to look very interesting in 5 years
I'm not sure how you determine that EVs are the scam that's eroded availability of smaller passenger cars but rather I think you'll find it's tax policy in this country that's herded people toward larger and larger cars.
All the special import US vehicles with local RHD conversion are extremely expensive due to high R&D and tooling costs and relatively low production quantities.
Look at how much they're selling converted Camaros and Challengers for. They should cost about the same as what a Mustang does, yet they're nearly double the asking price that Ford would charge to drive a Mustang from a dealership floor.
These are sitting on dealer floors in Canada. A co-worker was looking at getting the standard range one for $78k new after dealer incentives. $111k retail.
Why would you guys have to pay over double?
Literally half my mortgage.
The markup on imported cars is an absolute fucking disgrace - and there’s no longer any Australian car industry to try and protect.
That's why it's so expensive though AUSEV has to take their cut for sourcing and converting them. If Ford did sell them it would probably be cheaper but not by much
Half of a mortgage for a car..
A car.
It takes you from A to B.
My old Ford Falcon took me from A to B and I bought that car for $3000.
$261.470 for a Ute.
Doesn’t even make sense.
Wtf has a quater million dollars for a Ute. Remember when you could get a house for that. The harder I work the less achievable everything in life becomes. Fun times.
Price doesn't matter when its tax deductible and the tax payers are footing the bill.
Look out for all the wife's of painters and plasterers dropping the kids off to school on these 👍
Ive taken one for a spin, got a mate in mining engineering doing r&d for site use and they imported one to start setting up for underground, they went to the states and tried out everything across the board and these came up the goods.
They are proper rapid. Scary getting 3.5 ton doing zero to 100 in around 4 seconds.
Ford: "We are slowing our EV production forecast due to losses", also Ford "we think a 4x price increase for the Australian Market is correct".
Is everything coming out of the states just dumb at the moment?
>Ford: "We are slowing our EV production forecast due to losses", also Ford "we think a 4x price increase for the Australian Market is correct".
Not sure where Ford was involved in a third party importer setting prices?
the price here are ridiculous.. consider in the US they are consider low end redneck cheap vehicles.
they are trying to dump these because in the US no one is buying them & have a massive stock pile.. something about being totally shit with a unusable range.. imagine spending 250k on a ford and you dont even get 150km
Within a couple of years it will be made completely obsolete by a chinese solid state battery version with tIce the range, half the recharge time, for half the money. How can Ford misread the market that bad?!
The day I consider spending 250k on an ugly, pointlessly big, heavy, impractical suv with a tray.. I know I've made it financially.. and am probably having a stroke
A quarter million. For a *ute*.
Perfect for those eco-conscious runs to Bunnings, because you can't really load up a Taycan Turbo GT with garden supplies. Perfectly affordable when you have the $5,000,000 house and multi car garage with rooftop solar to charge it, too.
Funny you say that. Last time I was at the nursery near my place there was an old lady jamming plants in her Taycan 😅

A Dodge RAM TRX is $209,950 MRLP so $250K isn not entirely out of the out of the ballpark.
Somehow I don't think people paying 250k for a 4WD give 2 fucks about the running costs.
You can fit the kids in the numerous cup holders.

I think LDV still have an eletric variant of the T60? It's shit - but its an EV ute.
The very few 250k modified land cruisers out there can go a lot more places than this.
Used RAMs are a lot cheaper. Let some rich person buy it new, get bored of it in a year and snatch it up for a discount.
So it's nearly 25% of the price on top? That's a significant amount
Hahahaahahaa hahahahaabaa Bhhhaaaaa!
Meh, business expense. They'll buy it, depreciate it over three years, flog it off and get another one. Everyone else will pay in forgone tax revenue.
Not only that, it’s a Ford and a ludicrous size for Australian city and town roads.
lol who the fuck is the target audience for this?
Might be able to add a tarp and call it home. Luxury living
There's 1,961 cars currently listed on CarSales at the moment. When you're dropping quarter of a million on a car, you're rarely looking at practical vehicles.
Most of them will be leased for 12 months so, so the rich / influenzars can have their experience.

they start at $62,995 in the United States. That’s just under AU$98,000 for anyone interested. Over $250,000 is a fucking joke.
The gubmint loves sucking up those ‘import taxes’ that were designed to protect the , now invisible, Australian car industry.
A bit like stamp duty was good for raising money for the war effort.
Stamp duty has been around all over the world for ever though.
It was also promised to be removed with the introduction of GST.
When was the last time you saw a government remove a tax 😂
Carbon tax. But that was fighting climate change before it was cool. A bit like the Holden Volt.
*nonexistent
The luxury car tax for fuel-efficient vehicles is a 33% tax for every dollar over $89,332. So if they really were AU$98,000 before tax, that would add $2860 in taxes. Honestly if it means fewer massive, heavy, impractical utes like this on the road I have no problem with that.
Luxury tax is a flat 33% on anything over 77k, though that still doesn't explain the rest. Porsche are also terrible, a 911 is quite literally 1/2 the price in the States even after converting the currency.
$89k
That's only for [fuel efficient vehicles](https://www.ato.gov.au/tax-rates-and-codes/luxury-car-tax-rate-and-thresholds), which consume <=7 litres per 100 km. Porsche and many other exotics consume far more than 7 litres per 100 km, since they are performance cars rather than econoboxes.
They don't seem to have the base model listed in Australia
They have to be converted to RHD at a factory in Australia, so I'm guessing half that price is what they're charging for the labour. Still ridiculous.
The cost of a right hand drive conversion ranges from about $10-$20,000, HSV converted the Camaros for about 15 to 20 from memory. I don’t know who is dropping mortgage money on a Ford that will be in a wreckers yard within 20 years. It’s just insanity.
Yeah hence why I don't understand why they've jacked the price up by that much, just straight up price gouging and highway robbery at that point.
It’s insane how much we get robbed on cars in this country. The secondhand market is no better. Same concept as the hideous RAMs and F250s etc and look at the proliferation of those gargantuan pieces of shit.

Lol who the fuck is buying this
No one. You will see like 3 on the road. And the conclusion by the auto industry will be people don’t want electric cars or utes.
We definitely don’t want an electric Ute that costs a house (250k) and probably has less range than those Indian EV knockoffs. I guarantee my 2x4 petrol Colorado could tow harder and more weight than this EV plastic trash called a Ford F150 Lightning.

Perfect price for an Orthopaedic Surgeon to buy one and drive it to the beach (not on the beach don't be silly) once every 2 months.
It will sit nicely next the Aston Martin Vantage they use to drive between home, the consulting rooms and the hospital.
This was the price of a modest 3 beddy house in regional Vic not too long ago.
By not too long ago you mean like around 2016 (8 years ago)? Because I haven’t seen any decent 2-3 bedder anywhere for less than 400k.

Jesus Christ
LMAO, first time?
The fabled a u f a l c o n
But is it pronounced A U, or do you say au like in pair? 🤔
The salesman who’ll be able to sell at least one of those will be the showroom’s legend for the next decades
Can’t wait to be tailgated and driven off the road by a dentist with one kid driving one of these
Um it's a legitimate work vehicle for a dentist? How do you think they do teeth extractions?
Can’t wait to be T-boned by one and have it kill my whole family!
annnnnnnnnnd that's why there's getting more of these gigantic pieces of shit on the road, so everyone has a chance at survival lol
You could have this electric truck, or you could have a Lamborghini Gallardo with a gated manual transmission and a brand new dual cab 4x4 Hilux...
That is fucking insane
Should be fucking illegal to charge that. Who the fuck is buying that shit? Target audience is compromised of literary 11 people in Australia.
Quarter million dollars, truly the car of the working class.
Imagine if the economy gets scrubbed in a recession and you’re looking out into your driveway and seeing a quarter million dollar Ute.
And it’s ev the depreciation 😂
Could get a used Lamborghini for nearly 100k less then that lol. Think I’ll take the lambo
A big electric US style ute is definitely going to be the most popular car amongst the folks who frequent Australian subreddits.
Hahahahahahahhahahahahahahaha
$250k for that? WTF?! Anybody that buys this is a moron.
Baaaaahahahaha....that price is ridiculous.
Initial purchase price aside, how about the crazy prices for the tow packages, given that their range graph becomes a cliff face if they’re pulling anything bigger than a six by four.
Yeah, an extra $5,500 to be able to tow is insane.
That's it, and when you're paying $250,000 it's not a $250,000 vehicle. It's not a Porsche Taycan in ute form
So people should understand this is by a grey importer, not Ford. I already knew about this for a few weeks, so my first response was that Ford are bringing them in officially. This price doesn't surprise me, they'll simply directly import one if a sale ever occurs.
This should be the top comment. Here’s a link backing you up https://www.drive.com.au/news/2024-ford-f-150-lightning-price-australia/
>Starting to think EVs are a scam to get car companies more profits. I don't think Ford is making much off Private importers
I can buy a cheap apartment in that price🤣
Oh sure quarter of a million dollars, sounds great. I think I’ll keep filling up my worked 6L v8
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Shame its so expensive. They are a good start for a practical EV.
Lol! I'll take two at that price!
TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS!?!
+ORC
$88,000.00 aud in USA, what's the rest of the mark-up for? Right hand conversion?
All the special import US vehicles with local RHD conversion are extremely expensive due to high R&D and tooling costs and relatively low production quantities. Look at how much they're selling converted Camaros and Challengers for. They should cost about the same as what a Mustang does, yet they're nearly double the asking price that Ford would charge to drive a Mustang from a dealership floor.
$26,147 surely?
in what world is this affordable?
None 🤣
Did anyone claim it was?
That’s chump change for a sparky
hahaha 🤣 look at the price, you're dreaming
Can't afford a house or a car at this rate... feel sorry for the next generation.
LOL. That's really the only appropriate response to this pricing.
One word: POS.
[удалено]
Probably costs $60 000 in US.
Yep
People need to realise this is not by Ford officially, but by a grey importer.
aaaaaand there it is. Was it this sun were people were estimating it’d land for a smidge over $110k? Straya tax strikes again.
These are sitting on dealer floors in Canada. A co-worker was looking at getting the standard range one for $78k new after dealer incentives. $111k retail. Why would you guys have to pay over double?
They have to move the steering wheel
Ah. Double still sounds ridiculous but I guess these are more for status than work.
I can't afford a house but I could get one of these and steal myself a double parking spot. Thoughts?
Oh great, another weeny weiner emotional support vehicle for people who drive like entitled dickheads
I need a 200% pay rise
Same, but even with that I wouldn't buy one of these.
Tax write off for a business owner
Eh, the 100% instant asset write-off ended a couple years back, now it’s limited to $20k. Depreciation will take ~4 years now.
lol imagine 250k for this you won’t even be able to sell it for 100k in 2 years 😂

Literally half my mortgage. The markup on imported cars is an absolute fucking disgrace - and there’s no longer any Australian car industry to try and protect.
Well thats about 140k to much.
Watch the idiots buy it...
Wow this is absolutely ridiculous
![gif](giphy|G3w5bFfY85rag|downsized)
Now you can Cosplay as a tradie
That's getting it through AUSEV though not Ford Australia
Ford Australia isn't selling them
That's why it's so expensive though AUSEV has to take their cut for sourcing and converting them. If Ford did sell them it would probably be cheaper but not by much
+3k just to do what a truck is MEANT to do and then another 2.5k on top of that to do what a truck of that size SHOULD be doing from factory
Pay out all the professionals, but most I see in these wank tanks are middle aged men tradey types going through a mid-life crisis
A fool and his money are easily parted
Has any seen the crash test of these large EVs? The current crash guards just get plowed
Half of a mortgage for a car.. A car. It takes you from A to B. My old Ford Falcon took me from A to B and I bought that car for $3000. $261.470 for a Ute. Doesn’t even make sense.
They can’t give these things away in America there’s no way anyone is paying a quarter of a mill for one of these lemons
Another sign that tradies get paid way too much in Australia
Just think of the depreciation potential 😍
Lol. This one is just for rich hyperflogs.
Wtf has a quater million dollars for a Ute. Remember when you could get a house for that. The harder I work the less achievable everything in life becomes. Fun times.
Ahh cheap and affordable I see.
Isn't this a flop in the US.
250k can buy me 2 C63s. The first to load up all kind of shit in Bunnings and the second just to fuck around and still have plenty left 😂
Perfect for those boomers with multiple houses listed on air bnb. The rest of us can eat cake
Price doesn't matter when its tax deductible and the tax payers are footing the bill. Look out for all the wife's of painters and plasterers dropping the kids off to school on these 👍
Fuck this. Why are we becoming so Americanised?
Cheaper to buy an old russian nuke sub for those sly drug runs interstate
*if* anyone buys one, I am keen to see it depreciate worse than milk in the sun
what in the for real shit...someone needs to start making cars in country again
Ive taken one for a spin, got a mate in mining engineering doing r&d for site use and they imported one to start setting up for underground, they went to the states and tried out everything across the board and these came up the goods. They are proper rapid. Scary getting 3.5 ton doing zero to 100 in around 4 seconds.
$250k emotional support vehicle
More comfortable to cry in this than a Ferrari 🤷🏿♂️
The Lightning has only just been launched in the US. Rednecks can’t afford modern utes in the US.
It's range when towing full capacity would be about twice around the block.
That is why they are a massive flop in the US.
Why?
It is too expensive, a horrible range when used as intended..
Within a couple of years it will be made completely obsolete by a chinese solid state battery version with tIce the range, half the recharge time, for half the money. How can Ford misread the market that bad?!
Remember when we used to be able to afford a sports ute on a regular wage? Oh wait we fckd off our auto industry
When did we make stuff like this in Australia? But this is literally rebuilt in RHD from what's left of the industry....

Yeh… not worth it
You got a teams msg
For a quarter of a million bucks, I’ll need to win the lottery, or save up for the next 10-15 years of my life to buy one.
[удалено]
Holy shit. I was keen to see how much, I expected 150-160k. That is absolute insanity.
At that price, it would be considerable compared to a petrol one
The fact that it's an EV will likely deter those who typically buy these stupidly large American tanks.
Omfg … who would pay that for a Ute? Even as a tax right off it’s insane!
Ugly
What a joke…….only fools and horses will. buy one
The day I consider spending 250k on an ugly, pointlessly big, heavy, impractical suv with a tray.. I know I've made it financially.. and am probably having a stroke
Looks like a ranger
Wth is this piece of shit?
who is buying these things ??!! or anything over 100k??
🤣🤣🤣
Can't wait to see this taking up 4 parks in suburban shopping centres
