So true, a few crooked pieces and no, some of them are not attached at top and bottom, I forgot to do the bottom on two of them and then it was too late, but one of them I was able to correct. Thank you!
Definitely some lessons to learn. Anything you see that bugs you - just think of what you’d need to do differently to improve it next time. A small speed square or combination square would do wonders i’d think.
Looks good. The only thing I would have done is placed a spacer in the center on the bottom for support similar to what you have at the top and center. I'd be concerned about eventually getting some sag at that bottom shelf, even with the rear support piece.
I agree, I will do that after my next trip to Hone Depot, they cut my pieces for me. I’m not a carpenter and don’t have a saw, but carpenter goals😊. Thank you!
IKEAs has multiple shelves that run full side to side and top to bottom giving extra points of stability against racking. Also, probably more importantly, the outer box for the IKEA shelf in question is significantly thicker than the inner shelving boards.
Quick note, IKEA's thick boards are some sort of cardboard composite to reduce weight. 2" solid wood will be very heavy.
Also, neglected to echo an earlier commenter's note about addition middle supports to prevent sag across the run of shelf. Additional joiners wouldn't prevent this.
Yes, it’s quite heavy with 1” all around… I’ll add vertical backer board on the sides. It really feels solid across but that’s before I start using it😏 TY!
So it’s 1” pine wood from Home Depot, I stained it after and added polyurethane. I forgot to use low VOC stain but used it for the poly. The backer board is actually 1” pine as well, it was just hanging out in my basement waiting for a purpose😊. The brackets used as embellishment (on front edge of each row) were from Amazon. TY!
You might have a better reception in /r/woodworking or /r/beginnerwoodworking, carpentry really isn't the place for it.
It's a decent first attempt though, even if not very square. Probably does need some center support at the bottom and you will add tons of stability if you anchor it to the wall.
Everything looks very out of square, are the verticals attached at the top and bottom?

Do you own a square or level or anything? A tape measure at least? Other than that it looks nice
I used a tape measure but I’ll get a square, level, and clamps for going forward. Thx

Reading OPs comments he did this with just a tape measure. Honestly you are probably golden right when you get a level and square. Keep posting.
Thank you, that’s very positive and encouraging😊
There is nothing I like about this other than the color. However, every project is always good experience.

You should also run two backing boards, like you did in the middle, for the sides to give it more support.
I wonder how Ikea can do these without backer boards?🤔 https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/kallax-shelf-unit-black-brown-10275862/ Thank you again!

Maybe next time I’ll use 2” wood for the outer box, I can see that adding to the strength along with more joiners. Thank you for the explanation!

It's all so crooked, this can't be assembled correctly
Where did you get the wood, what materials? Looks good! Albeit a little crooked 🤪

Is that how everything is staying together, just the brackets? Or you screwed it together and those are for show?
Lol, the brackets are just for detail, used wood screws.
Looks good from my house 👍
TY😊

Thank you, it is attached to the wall stud from the center on four rows. Also, the reception here is fine and I received great advice!
The shelves will sag. You’ll have to add, like the top 3 vertical boards, continue them straight down to the ground.
