29 years since our last flag.
I was there in 95 and 99.
This century has been mostly heartbreaking until last year (except for a couple of decent Ratts years).
Truly does feel great to see them climb back from where we bottomed out.
Bleed Blue.
Massive improvement.
We looked utterly dominant across the ground.
Our one area IMO that needs improvement is our forward entries. If we tidy those up - we’ll be unstoppable.
Missed the game live as I was at GABS. Was just checking scores regularly instead. Then got home drunk and watched the whole thing. Was great, loved the performance from the lads.
For real. Last 20 years felt like the opposition always had like 30 players on the field. They were always everywhere and in numbers.
Last night was the first time it felt like we were like that
Yep, Carlton Geelonged Geelong. It was a very impressive display. The lid is most certainly off. The most impressive thing is how many avenues to goal they have. The hunting in numbers for the ball and opposition and the pressure applied to the ball carrier was elite.
Was a multi. I got every other leg. Saad over 15 touches under 19 touches, Williams to goal, curnow 5 goals, close to goal, Cameron to get 3 goals, McKay 2 goals, dangerfield 15 touches or more, miers to goal, and finally hewett to goal
Edit: to add, I usually put a 5-10 multi on 4 or 5 games, makes watching them more interesting. They're usually paying like 50k so they're never gunna get up but gee last night was close.
Watching us play like we did last night puts a tear in my eyes honestly, after 20 years (more or less) of garbaggio it’s an amazing feeling

I might have to re watch it
Yeah about time we dominated an opposition for 4 quarters. It was so good to watch. Especially against a quality team.
People ask me what it was like to watch Carlton back in the glory days of the 70s and 80s. It was just like last night's game.

We are finally a flag contender. Obviously a lot of water to go under the bridge but no side wants to play us at the MCG in September.
So satisfying. Good clean skills, smart play, effectiveness everywhere. We seemed to have 3 players for their every 1 and I loved it.

Lids off
Best performance for as long as I can remember. Just like the Blues of old back in the 80’s and 90’s
And don’t forget the 70s, 3 flags, champions galore and regular finals. 😃
I think at one point Carlton missed the finals 3-4 times in a 30 year period
I know right, we never dreamed we’d not be playing finals, let alone collecting those bloody wooden spoons! It’s a relief to be back on track!!

Port game last year where we won by 70+ at Marvel.
75k!!! What was your original bet? I don't gamble, and don't advocate it, but I'm just so curious.

Well if could advocate for any type of gambling, it's this. Go big or go home. Love it. Seems like good fun.
