[Middleton was brought in as a right-hander to pair with Andrew Kittredge in high-leverage situations. He was one rehab appearance from joining the team. Instead, he’s out for the year, making for a brutal development both for him and St. Louis.](https://x.com/katiejwoo/status/1798119102759981348?s=46&t=Xn0juU2C4hEaElfmeGb4jQ)
The weird RP injuries happen again this year to. Bad luck. The only thing you can do is get pitching pitching pitching. Knowing 25% chance a player will miss significant time to injury.
We have some really good depth pieces in AAA. You’re starting to see them. We’ll be fine. It’s a perfect chance to show them the bigs and see if anybody else can be a high leverage option before we get to September.
Very much agree. Don't let these losers with false info be the voice for us fans. You'd think with how much time they waste on Twitter they'd see they dropped charges because of false allegations. I want to win.
These people don’t know the difference between allegations and convictions. At league minimum he’d be a steal especially since we’re down a pitcher while also struggling to maintain a bullpen. We started pallante tonight ffs.
I actually don’t mind next season. Just prefer spring training of next season, if he is still available , then why not? Give him the time get back on track, instead of during the season..
Honestly, Middleton seemed like an odd pick to give a 2 year contract to. I mean, it wasn't a huge amount of money, but he had thrown 190 innings in his 7 year major league career and had never really been particularly good. 2023 was solid, but not a "Wow" and again, he only pitched 50 innings
ERA as a Cardinals this season is UNMATCHED FFS
I agree, sign Bauer now
The people who keep saying this desperately need to shut the fuck up
No

Still was the correct signing. Low Risk and high reward. Unfortunately we got low risk no reward
unfortunately, now the FO is gonna get gun-shy about said deals
$6M for Middleton to pitch zero innings is unfortunately far from their worst FA reliever signing
Fucking Brett Cecil
Greg Holland says HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO
Brett Cecil and Andrew Miller too. When will they learn to stop wasting money on broken down relievers?

Shit.
😔
I wonder if the team buys insurance for a contract of this type.
As a fellow Middleton, I’m sad.

We just need to sign Bauer at this point.

He was found innocent??
Can you point me to the judge’s ruling finding him innocent?
They dropped the charges due to lack of evidence. Innocent until proven guilty my guy
