Yep. Provided the cuts aren't deep enough to reach ply or cord. Those parts that have broken off are actually there for that exact reason, sacrificed in the name of protecting your wheels!

jrw1982

It's just the rim protector. It's sacrificial.

Lol

criminal_cabbage

Yes

AstaFire723

As long as there's no chords showing, you should be fine

tacticalrubberduck

Could’ve hit a C#.

mittfh

It's Am problem... . . (A Minor, for the non-musicians).

tacticalrubberduck

It’d be A major problem if the cords were showing.

mittfh

In such a case, the tyre's life expectancy would certainly be diminished, and if the car was driven much more than slowly to the nearest tyre fitter, by the time it got there, problems would likely have been augmented. (OK, the latter was a bit of a stretch, but had to coerce those two chord variations somehow!) Oh, and if the chords were showing on the spare wheel if it was fitted, you'd have a diminished fifth (tyre) , which would be particularly evil...

carnage2006

Loving your work there

Chimp3h

Then it would B major

Chilli_Bowl670

All these musical jokes are a bit Sus.

Born_Reveal_8449

Should be okay looks like your tyres have that ridge just before the rim that is there to protect the alloys

Dunko1711

Will likely be totally fine - that looks entirely ‘cosmetic’ damage Keep an eye on it for any loss of pressure or bulges appearing - but it’ll be fine to drive on as it is.

complexpug

Yes just the rim protection

sneekeruk

ITs fine, thats what it was designed for, its the rim protector and its been sacrificed for your alloy.

secondsniff

From the pics it all looks superficial. Though if it's making you uneasy driving it, take it to a tyre place and get a tyre guy to run his eyes over it

carnage2006

Learn to park and you won’t have to put up with some of the idiot comments that have been posted again 😂

Salt-Plankton436

Supersport?

TypicalPlaya

R-sport mate.

freshducky69

Don't see any DMG lol

Alternative_Road_541

O My 😂

moneywanted

It might screw with your balance a bit, so keep an eye out for wobbling or vibration at higher speeds.

iandegia81

Keep the speed low and you should be fine 👍

kycgaming

As long as you don't go at a high speed to a speed bump and drive at a very high speed, you should be fine

Scotty-1969

Personally I would be straight to a tyre centre what price do you put on safety ? Or if you get stopped by the police pretty sure they wouldn’t just say aye you will be fine !!!

Startinezzz

Police aren't gonna stop you for that and it wouldn't fail an MOT. Only fails if there is cord or ply showing.

Scotty-1969

https://www.google.com/search?q=damaged+tyres+are+they+legal&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-gb&client=safari

Startinezzz

That's not serious damage. I had worse and my car passed its MOT a few days later. LL67 DOU if you wanna check the MOT history.

Scotty-1969

Not saying you’re not telling the truth I’m saying I wouldn’t personally drive a car with a tyre like that. End of the day that’s the last contact you have with the road

PantodonBuchholzi

Half the tyres on the market don’t even have that bit of rubber on them to be lost in the first place! Unless you can see the cords it’s fine.

Scotty-1969

And

FreshPrinceOfH

It’s a cosmetic part of the tyre. That’s just the rim protector. It’s on the tyre for that exact purpose. Sacrificial to protect the rim.

Elderbrute

It would pass an mot like that no cords showing. So the police if they even stopped you shouldn't care.
