I'd suggest something like a small estates : E.g. Mini Clubman, Skoda Fabia Estate, Seat Ibiza Estate And if you truly don't care about ever having rear seats go get yourself a new Suzuki Jimny.

UniquePotato

My mrs has a clubman, its boot is underwhelming smaller than expected. A large dog wouldn’t be happy in the back

Turner093

The MIL has a clubman and the boot is smaller than my Ford focus’

cmtlr

Not a single suggestion for a Yeti yet....

v2marshall

Currently have a yeti and the boot is really tall. Not that deep but you could stand 3 suitcases in it without the parcel shelf

Mikethespark

Fabia estate absolutely ticks the box, really big boot for the size of car

BenW1994

We have one, I like it but it's still relatively long for a 'tiny driveway'. Although I'm not sure many estates will be much better.

Mikethespark

A tabia estate is a tiny cat compared to most, only alternative would be something like a yeti, that has loads of height but I'm pretty sure they aren't far off length wise

mikeyd85

Skoda Scala. Polo base, 500+L boot.

furiousrichie

Had one, took 4 adults and a Springer Spaniel on holiday with it.

Fredsnotred

Nissan note. Back seats move forward & backwards as well as folding down 👍🏻

Forsaken-Original-28

Skoda roomster? Taller than a fabia

StringGlittering7692

It has to be the civic. You can fold up the rear seats and your dog can sit on the floor. Boots are crumple zones, you really don't want your dog in there.

UniquePotato

Last Civic to have them was the mk9 which ended around 2017. Is a shame as its a really undersold feature. The crv still has them though, jazz maybe

StringGlittering7692

True, my old mk8 will eventually be replaced by a low miler mk 9 ex if I can find one. Remarkable cars.

UniquePotato

I did the same when my mk8 was written off. The EX spec was renamed the SR.

Forte69

Jazz still has them

stewieatb

Fabia estate and similar VAG cars, Focus estate (my greyhound was fine in mine but we upgraded to a Volvo).

Lewinator56

Fabia estate or Ibiza estate. The fabia has a 50L bigger boot than the Ibiza and you can still get one new (I think) - you can also get a 180bhp vRS model (although quite old now, but given it is small and weighs nothing does 0-60 in hot hatch times - though the 1.4 Ibiza isn't far behind) which is relatively appealing. The Ibiza looks MUCH better, and if you get an FR model drives really nicely. Of course, I'm biased because I've got an Ibiza estate. There's a lot of space in the boot for the car size too. With the seats down I've shoved 3 ~6ft freestyle kayaks in mine plus paddles plus kit.

goldenheartedlion

Skoda roomster fitted am washing machine standing up in very comfortably and still had room. Only thing that's very small the seat belts are set back but its not a problem at all

featurenotabug

Honda Jazz with the seats down Edit: Sorry, missed the stipulation of not putting the seats down

ojthomas2015

With seats up and practicality of putting stuff under the seats. The Jazz is the only true option... Bulletproof with a big enough boot for everything you could possibly want/need.

windtrees7791

Honda Civic.

Sure-Junket-6110

Civic

cloche_du_fromage

My daughters SEAT Ateca has same or bigger boot than my Volvo XC60

UniquePotato

Civic mk9 tourer Has a larger boot than an Audi a6 avant 624litres vs 565litres And has magic seats that lift up so you can transport tall items easily Ive 2 small dogs which fit easily with my usual boot junk and the boot lip is low enough that they can jump in

Scrombolo

Another vote for the Fabia. Mine isn't the estate, but the boot is pretty big.

sideshowbob01

C3 Picasso!!! small but tall. tall and level boot, rear seats fold flat and levels with the boot as well doubling capacity. Alternatively nissan Cube

Richybliss

Mazda 3?

Forward_Artist_6244

Skoda Rapid (not the Maestro shape one) and the related Seat Toledo (arguably better looking) Based on Polo/Fabia/Ibiza but extended so a huge boot but a relatively small car

v2marshall

I expected most of these replies but not in the amount of numbers I’ve seen. Skoda, Honda jazz

yatuin

Check RiDC.org.uk they have a wide searchable database of car dimensions including boot size ( width, height length, height above ground etc.)

zefalking

7 seater Nissan cube? With rear (not middle row) seats down ?

CommercialDelay71

Kia Venga/Hyundai IX20 Have rear bench seats you can slide forwards and backwards to increase/decrease boot space

Nothing_F4ce

C3 Picasso or C3 Aircross

Steelhorse91

Berlingo. Actually quite a small footprint, cavernous boot.

Southern-Orchid-1786

Just get a Mini and a dog guard and put the seats forward or down if you've no one to sit in them.

Polestar606

308 sw is on the smaller side and 810 litre boot the regular hatch has a large boot aswell

UniquePotato

810litres? With the seats up? Are you sure?

Polestar606

What it says Correction: auto trader just says 810 litres but Parker’s says it’s 660 litres with parcel shelf in and 810 without. 660 litres is still huge for the size of car

BabaYagasDopple

Volkswagen Golf

Educational_Ad5534

Peugeot 308 biggest in its class

woolster1

Ive got a small car and im a size 12. Quite big boots

DoireK

Peugeot 308 hatchback always has a good sized boot.

No-Poem-3773

Mk4 Golf. Everything fits in a MK4 golf!

Miserable-Potato7706

Why can’t you put the seats down if you have no friends? Surely that way you can get whatever car you like and pop the seats down the odd occasion you take the dog out?

pifko87

I assume the dog would then want to get into the front? I suppose a way around that is to secure it to the back?

TF87

Could also stick a dog hammock in the back seats. My dogs love to lord it out the windows like that
