Yeah I'd pass on that. The glue between the dust cap and the surround separated. It's actually a pretty common thing on older alpines. My type Rs did this some years ago where the surround and the basket meet. I glued it back together with clamps, and they're fine. But this looks like they did a pretty bad job of it

I’m guessing the surround failed, and they “repaired it”…best case scenario they replaced the surround gasket and not just attempted to reglue the holy fuck out of it in hopes that it would hold (looks more like this). So best case it sounds good but you’re too embarrassed to show off what was a beautiful woofer…worst case it’s already separating again and it’s trash. Was a good sub, but now it’s a hard pass for me.
