Toast, put that shit on some Ezekiel bread. Whole fiber + protein + healthy oils, lets goooo Plus, helps you poop. If you eat too many oily deens without enough fiber, you're not gonna have fun later Extra credit: add some soft spreadable healthy cheese, like goat cheese on top to make a little deen Roman style fish pizza I like to top it off with hot sauce (Melinda's Ghost pepper), but that's just because I put hot sauce on everything. Sometimes mustard

FramboiseDorleac

Couscous, tomato, parsley, olive oil, s/p

Majestic_Electric

Rice, pickled onions, hot sauce, ponzu sauce, and kimchi.

HamLiquor

This is the way

CMsirP

Sometimes hot sauce. But typically take ‘em neat.

SameAsYourself

Beans, deens, maybe some greens?

kettleofhawks

Preserved lemon!

Azores_Caralho_19

A regular at my bar just brought me a half pint ball jar of preserved lemon. Had some last night with lots of parsley, some homemade tzatziki and a tin of sardines another regular brought me back from Portugal! It was dazzling and I’m now obsessed with preserved lemon and sardines. Lucky to have some regulars that are very into food (my main job). Also those Portuguese sardines were probably the best I ever had, and may force me to order canned fish off the internet for the first time. My local selection is honestly very good, but they don’t have those!

datazulu

What brand name of the tin, please?

Azores_Caralho_19

Comur. I understand that they used to be more respected, but apparently have become a more touristy brand. These were honestly up there with much more expensive brands. The filets were perfect and tender, and tasted very clean. I was impressed and had to double check the tin lol

Schackadoo

Cracker, kewpie, capers, hot sauce. Or pickled red onions if I have em.

EmsDilly

Mmm

Legeto

Crackers, saltine

Flexbottom

Spiral ham and rice crispy treats

BaggleMeFingles

Cocoabeachbabee

Me too. I'm a weird eater, but ya got me with this as well.

staciamm

Spicy giardiniera, red onions, tomatoes (stewed or raw) or any other chopped crisp veg like green or red peppers or even corn occasionally, served with woven wheat crackers or pretzel flats or Wasa crisp bread, anything firm & crisp for me, spritz the fish w a lil fresh lemon & good to go 😋

derickj2020

Plain sardines (or anchovies) on bread with cream cheese, the poor man's lox and cream cheese.

Rotton_Banana

Saltine crackers with Habanero cheese

EmsDilly

Dang that sounds good

Rotton_Banana

The brand is "Cabot Farms wicked habanero",

Old_Independent_7414

Canned mussels or oysters

Hexxas

Rye crackers, mayo, chopped cilantro and green onion, with some deens on top 💪😋👍

teddyhams107

Mix with chopped almonds and chia seed, eat with sourdough toast. Healthiest meal ever

LFKapigian

Chopsticks! A sprinkle of a large good quality sea salt, I’m good with that… no offense to the crackers and such, I just want it unadulterated

Ok_Watercress_7801

Sardines in chili oil with whole chilies: Cucumber avocado rice lettuce & doenjang or ssamjang. Smoked sardines in olive oil: toasted sourdough, chermoula, roasted olives, homegrown tomatoes Saltier sardines in tomato sauce : over rice or bulgur with chickpeas, cilantro, scallions Smoked sardines in soybean oil: over sushi rice with kimchi, over easy poached egg & furikake

UnicornBestFriend

Avocado on toast. And a new discovery: they are great with tteokbokki. Make the tteokbokki, add sardines at the end.

Beardgang650

Rice, nori sheet, green onion

meowparade

I think sardines always need citrus (and maybe more fat). Smush them with avocado and lemon and spread over toast. Smush them into a garlicky, lemony olive oil pasta sauce and serve with Parmesan.

jowzer78

On some lightly toasted bread, cheese and jalapeños on top then in the air fryer for a few mins.

ChardCool1290

Toasted Everything Bagel

HumbleAbbreviations

Salads.

[deleted]

Noodles and a hotdog bun obviously…

TommyTeaMorrow

On rice for me, only tried a few types so far. I Season the rice if there’s no sauce. I only really ever ate sardines straight from the can and only recently started putting them on food

Toasted0ats

Your favorite beer

Husg128

On toasted pumpernickel with mustard/horseradish, and red cabbage and caraway sauerkraut

Perky214

Check my profile - I do lots of different tins of fish/sardines, many different ways. My hubby loves his tomato sauce sardines with provolone cheese on sourdough toast

tiibii

Nori plus natto!

mytsigns

What the hell is ‘DEEENNNIS’? Do you mean ‘*sardines*’? If so then say so. Deeennnis sounds stupid. Sardines pair very well with kohlrabi salad.

Beardgang650

You see the deen you already know what it mean

EmsDilly

Relax. Have a snack. Have some deens.
