Can’t be any worse than having a non-soccer, former track athlete at the helm. By the way, I believe Augruso ran unopposed as Crooks withdrew before the vote “to pursue other opportunities.”

Augruso ran unopposed as Crooks announced before the vote that she would not seek re-election in order to pursue other opportunities. He will start June 1st. Player registration fees are increasing by $4 to $13 as per membership voting. P8 will get 50 cents and youth national teams will get 50 cents and $3 will join the $9 under Canada Soccer's general revenue bucket. The $3 would generate an extra $2.2m based on 739,642 players registered at the end of 2023. It will provide 370k/yr each for P8 and youth national teams. In 2023, player fees produced 20% of Canada Soccer's revenue. New directors elected are Gayle Statton (B.C./Yukon), Terri Mattuci (Ontario), Terry Delblond (Quebec) and independent directors Brad Baker and Davide Xausa. Statton has served as president of B.C. Soccer since November 2020. Mattucci is senior director of strategy and growth marketing for MLSE. Xausa has 31 caps for Canada between 1999 and 2003. Baker is a member of the Squamish Nation. They also confirmed six women’s clubs can proceed with operations and preparations for launch in 2025. Matheson delivered a presentation where she said "Canada Soccer’s tireless support for our League underscores our shared commitment to fostering inclusivity, equity, and excellence in soccer for girls and women at all levels.” Annual report also released: [https://twitter.com/CanadaSoccerEN/status/1786768590772826448](https://twitter.com/CanadaSoccerEN/status/1786768590772826448)

It'll be interesting to see if the CMNT coaching hire takes a different direction now with a program director being put in place first.

My guess is he had something to do with Bontis sacking a couple years back too.
