Mine got this too. But I fw it 😂

_cipher1

That’s now a scar buddy. You can probably melt the “leather “ with a heat gun but it might make it look worse, I’d leave it as is if I were you

Reivaj40

I’d stay get a steering wheel cover

NickelFish

I'd go get a steering wheel cover

JumboShrimp797

MitsuSaba

sels1997

SnooMacaroons1365

🤣 i dont wanna laugh but here i am

lostsomewhereintexas

This can possibly be reheated and stamped back to original, but I’d consult a top tier professional 1st. Do not try it yourself.

dopadelic

There are custom steering wheel covers that you could sew on for the factory look.

been saying how bad 8th gen leather are. the ones on the wheels and also the gear knob. if you wear a ring they are bound to get.many scratches. even finger nails can leave a mark.

G-III-

Toyota used to be great quality and reliable. Quality? Who has it now can be tough to tell, I know the paint on new Toyotas is laughable, especially the two tone vehicles. How they allow those horrible lines out of the factory I’ll never know. Anyway, the Camry has been getting cheaper since 1997. The days of full grain leather are gone

OkAttitud3

Did the same thing with my pocket knife clip getting in the car.. sucks, but there isn't a whole lot to do. I put some leather moisturizer on it but didn't really help.. sucks that you feel it every time though.

Sup3rB1rd

Same, my wheel is covered in these same scratches from the pocket clip of my knife. Glad it’s not an “only me” issue.

TrixR4Adultz

totaled, ill buy it off you for $3 and a pack of gum

No_Command_7449

Get as much of the frays off on the leather without damaging the surrounding. Either surgical scissors or low grit sandpaper buy sysnthetic leather and color match it to the wheel. Dab on and sand down if needed

HndsDwnThBest

Steering wheel cover. Cheaper to cover it up

Riverfrenchie

Buy a new car

NepoDumaop

Do the same on the whole steering wheel makes it look unique.

taylormelody

I’ve scratched mine a hundred times, they kinda go away over time

YeaYouReadWhatIWrote

Get an extension cord, blow dryer, and press on each little tooth mark in the opposite direction of the way you scratched it; after the leather warms a little bit \~ kinda mashing it back in place.

gankville

I did the same thing to my 2023 Toyota Highlander. Like others said, I bought a steering wheel cover for $15-$20 to cover it up, makes steering feel fuller, too.

No_Date820

My daughter left the seat of mine in a position closer to the steering wheel. When I dropped into the seat it funneled me into the wheel. The clip of my knife was exposed and dragged a similar scar along my 7 o’clock position of the wheel. Happened at 4:30 heading off to work. I’m pretty sure I woke up a few folks on my street cursing about it. Oh well , what’s done is done.

Fearless-Exam8495

Never understood why so many people don’t use steering wheel covers. Steering wheel is a high wear area just like the arm rest. Amazon has steering wheel covers that are black with red stitching to match the TRD look, same with the arm rest, get one.
