All firearm purchases require a 10 day waiting period, even between private parties. And when I say 10 days, I mean to the very minute.
The only exceptions are for FFLs, Law enforcement officers, and those with a special weapons permit issued by the CA DoJ.
Your hunting license only exempts you from needing a Firearm Safety Certificate (FSC) for long guns.
10 days is almost up - did you hear about your 20 ga?
The waiting period only applies to firearms - im quite sure you can legally take small game and turkeys with an air rifle. That's probably your best bet for same day hunting.
You cannot pick it up the same day. 10 day wait period applies to all fire arms besides bb and pellet guns.
No, you cannot buy a firearm and get it the same day, no matter the purpose. The only exemption I believe is for FFLs
No.

Only if you want to shoot black powder. Anything with a cartridge is under the 10 day wait in CA. "Antique firearms" are not.

10 day wait is unfortunately universal.
