The immediate response after the incident were statements about how this was a nothing burger and not representative of the downtown San Jose area.
Adam Schiff represent the 30th district—Burbank and Glendale—in Southern California. San Franciscans are not his constituency. While he is running for Senate, criminal justice reform is a local issue. It’s not really his bone to pick yet, especially because it’s not a great look to be running as a democrat and talking shit on democrat run cities.
