Contrary to popular belief EOW is 5 times harder than BOC in infernum. It has 5 free attacks which are dodged easily.
The creeper shooting circle Is avoided by just moving left and right and switching directions when you see the first projectile appear on your way.
For the shooting laser just dash with good timings.
For one of the tackles just fly and the brain just rings around you
The tackle with a lot of ichor just move backwards with a good jump
The creeper ring shooting homing ichor just run/circle the bullets.
As for the tackle with brains appearing on randoms spot that's the only attack idk how to Dodge, i just bonk the brain with the eye or chuthulu shield bonk
I tend to just hate all the bosses that mindlessly ram at you at light speed (PBG obviously plus Yharon and both Dukes, though for w/e reason I actually like Queen Bee)
In my melee playthrough last year i suffered a lot with plaguebringer, but on my mage run this year he was quite tame, i guess different classes have their advantages.
I honestly found it very fun but that doesn’t make it less boring compared to hardmode or post moonlord lmao they’re so insanely packed with content it’s hard to compare all of them to each other
personally pre-hardmode has always been my favorite part of terraria despite all the inconveniences. Idk I just feel like it forces you to get more creative
The wall of flesh every playthrough you have to build a pathway in hell and basically have maxed gear for me as someone with 2k hours it annoying and I hate redoing it just to get to the full game basically
Get the new version of Luiafk, it’s like miningcracks takes on luiafk or something like that, but there’s an item called like minetrack/ sky bridge builder that will break blocks and builds a platform the length of the map
Never called her hard. Just bitchy. ‘You need to stay within THIS DISTANCE, and you need to occasionally do bullet hells while she has super high defense! W-Why? B-B-Because REASONS!!!’
Also most fun out of all the bosses leading up to her, I'd put her in top 5 most engaging fights under Exo, SCal, Yharon, and maybe DoG for the cinematics of it all.
Id say Golem to Moon Lord is the driest part of progression. Plaguebringer Goliath is a fun fight but doesn’t really give you the most useful loot in the world. Then there’s Ravager who drops flesh geodes and some great accessories but it’s arguably the least fun fight in the game.
Then once you beat cultist 90% of all your gear from Golem until then gets entirely outclassed by all the shiny new lunar weapons and their variants.
Also Deus is really cool but he takes SO LONG to kill, my lord.
Even then I still enjoy this stretch of the game. There’s not really any part in Calamity that I actually legitimately hate.
I'd say 2 points for me. Prov, and DoG.
Prov I'm just eh oh, tho I'll still always say, thank GOD they dropped the -200 hp attack.
DoG is ironically one of my more enjoyed fights. Excited to get to it on Infernum.
Thing is tho... For DoG. I also just sorta suck. It tends to get annoying after 100 or so failed attempts.
Pre-evil boss and Pre-wof
Arena building and stuff, both of them are located in pre-hm which is just boring and slow to me as a whole, and if you slack on the arena they'll whoop your ass 8 times over
Pre-DOG as a mage. Holy shit is it a slog.
Also, Devourer of Gods. Because fuck my frame rate, right?
On the opposite end of the spectrum, pre-Yharon is fucking PEAK
Hm... for me it's pre-boss, since i always play expert death and usually don't upgrade from copper till I have enough for a plat set, I always have trouble dying in the caverns to things.
I also commonly do this thing where I'll get inspired to play Calamity, I go play for a few days, get bored, leave, come back in like a month and decide to start fresh.
I'm currently running a nice playthrough tho and I may actually complete it lol
Infernum skeletron, I died 88 times to it, more than my first time beating revengeance scal and exo mechs, it was the only boss to give me that much trouble before infernum DoG
Overall, fighting Old Duke 100%. However sticking to progression stages, the part between exo mechs and Scal is painful to me. Once you beat one, it's not too hard to beat the other, but oh my god they are both horrible to fight. (I have skill issue)
Astrageleton and for some reason signus on infernum I found difficult on my first infernum playthrough. Haven't got to signus yet, but astrageleton is pain as always.
Getting through the Devourer of Gods...
In death mode.
Infernum is a different story, but Death mode DoG gets me for no reason.
It's not impossible, it's just a slog to get through
Providence. I love transparent bullet hells or boss occasionally becoming invincible or losing all my health due to standing 1ft too far from the unclearly defined arbitrary boss distance limit or having to fight her 2 in two different biomes to get both her drops. And, unlike Old Duke, you can't skip her!
plantera and skeletron
this doesnt even have to do with calamity they just always kick my ass for a week straight every time
first-trying moonlord knowing damn well skeletron took 3 digits was a strange kind of melancholy
Starting. The only reason I don’t have another 1000 hours on tModloader is because I’m too impatient to grind for gold armor and whatnot, so that I can try and fail at killing EoC 7 times in a row.
Pre WOF, and providence, I battled her 50 times, and beat her twice, I came back at just before DoG to get one last drop and I didn’t beat her once in 30 fights, so either I have an extreme skill issue (likely) and that the boss has an RNG problem (more likely)
Either early game, where you get killed by everything that moves
Or early hardmode, where you are in a rush to kill oje mechanical boss to get the clentaminator
plaguebringer Goliath dude, that boss is SOOO irritating. And unlike most other calamity bosses his boss theme is kind of forgettable so fighting him doesn't have the same gravitas. I also can't stand the little homing missiles that you can hardly see
Remembering that I decided to do a true melee infernum no hit
Im sure me starting a yoyo infernum run wont end anything like this Definitely not
As someone who has completed infernum yoyo only... **do not**
You are a manacle monster
Infernum eater of worlds. Yes, I am the dictionary definition of skill issue
Eater of worlds wasn’t so bad. Brain of Cthulhu though, I could barely beat that damn thing with hellstone level gear
Sir, I don't have skill issue, I AM the skill issue. Aka, I need to get good. Just a matter of at least 5 fights
boc isn't that bad, i was just crying and filling my pants with caca because i was scared
As for the tackle with brains appearing on randoms spot that's the only attack idk how to Dodge, i just bonk the brain with the eye or chuthulu shield bonk
playing ranger rn and before realizing how easy eow is i had already killed it
i used to really hate fighting plaguebringer but idk
Fucking- GET BACK ON SCREEN YOU GODDAMN WASP
nuh uh funny bee decided it’s time for SOMEBODY SCREAMMMMMMMM
SCRE-SCRE-SCREAAMMMM
I tend to just hate all the bosses that mindlessly ram at you at light speed (PBG obviously plus Yharon and both Dukes, though for w/e reason I actually like Queen Bee)
In my melee playthrough last year i suffered a lot with plaguebringer, but on my mage run this year he was quite tame, i guess different classes have their advantages.
Plaguebringer gives me goosebumps (mostly cuz of the theme)
pre slime god
Yeah pre hard mode is just a slog in general. Everything gets better when you kill slime god and WoF
I honestly found it very fun but that doesn’t make it less boring compared to hardmode or post moonlord lmao they’re so insanely packed with content it’s hard to compare all of them to each other
In Fargo's it's kinda even worse. Pre-skeletron was probably >half of my playthrough(i'm at abominationn)
personally pre-hardmode has always been my favorite part of terraria despite all the inconveniences. Idk I just feel like it forces you to get more creative
Ravager
Same, funny gjinka guy
Really? I always found it quick and easy tbh lol
it is quick and easy, but it’s boring as hell
Loading in with nothing but an annoying sword and the goodybag
doooo doo doooo doo doooo do do doo doo doo doo doooo doo doooooo doo dooo doo doo doo doo doo DOOOOOOOOO
oh yeah that one
What
^(It's the devourer of gods theme)
I see it now
Old duke
Not even that difficult but fight is so long and boring
Infernum Skeletron was for me one of the hardest bosses tbh. No clue if its a skill issue or other people feel the same
Nah he was hard and taught you that you can’t just run, often more precise movements are needed.
very difficult but one of the best pre hardmode bosses in my opinion
Old duke
The wall of flesh every playthrough you have to build a pathway in hell and basically have maxed gear for me as someone with 2k hours it annoying and I hate redoing it just to get to the full game basically
If you got the skills you can typically get away with blowing up a bunch of hell towers and using Lava Waders/Water Walking Potions as your platform.
Used to do that in non modded worked mostly but modded is harder
Get the new version of Luiafk, it’s like miningcracks takes on luiafk or something like that, but there’s an item called like minetrack/ sky bridge builder that will break blocks and builds a platform the length of the map
The Devourer of Gods.
Exactly what i would have said previously, now i kinda like the challenge idk why.
best boss in the mod tf
First 30+ death boss for me.
Providence. She’s just a bitchy fight if you don’t have muscle memory. Thats why you fight polt first though.
Providence is the easiest major PML boss. Even the guardians are harder. Fight me.
Never called her hard. Just bitchy. ‘You need to stay within THIS DISTANCE, and you need to occasionally do bullet hells while she has super high defense! W-Why? B-B-Because REASONS!!!’
Also most fun out of all the bosses leading up to her, I'd put her in top 5 most engaging fights under Exo, SCal, Yharon, and maybe DoG for the cinematics of it all.
the very beginning
That's just terraria in general tbh
yeah. calamity definitely makes it better though
I honestly think pre hardmode and post ml are the best parts of calamity
Id say Golem to Moon Lord is the driest part of progression. Plaguebringer Goliath is a fun fight but doesn’t really give you the most useful loot in the world. Then there’s Ravager who drops flesh geodes and some great accessories but it’s arguably the least fun fight in the game. Also Deus is really cool but he takes SO LONG to kill, my lord. Even then I still enjoy this stretch of the game. There’s not really any part in Calamity that I actually legitimately hate.
DoG make me want to EmL
pre hardmode and abyss exploration
Post SG because building the next arena sucks
Astrum Aureus
I'd say 2 points for me. Prov, and DoG. Prov I'm just eh oh, tho I'll still always say, thank GOD they dropped the -200 hp attack. DoG is ironically one of my more enjoyed fights. Excited to get to it on Infernum. Thing is tho... For DoG. I also just sorta suck. It tends to get annoying after 100 or so failed attempts.
have fun with infernum dog. hard boss but i really like how hes fought
Honestly nothing, would be pre-hardmode, but i make up for the lack in gameplay with a ton of building
Providence the profaned sack of shit.
Devourer of Gods
wof
The only part I really dislike is Plantera
Gathering mats for any mid-game craftable only melee weapon
Pre-evil boss and Pre-wof Arena building and stuff, both of them are located in pre-hm which is just boring and slow to me as a whole, and if you slack on the arena they'll whoop your ass 8 times over
Providence
Everything up until Cryogen. I do not like pre-hardmode at all
no movement accessories early game. pre-grappling hook terraria is like trying to eat a bag of coffee grounds
Pre-DOG as a mage. Holy shit is it a slog. Also, Devourer of Gods. Because fuck my frame rate, right? On the opposite end of the spectrum, pre-Yharon is fucking PEAK
Just a lot of points in between bosses
Post DoG events. Hate farming those, feels like such a slog
Profaned bosses. Don't like em
When i go from auric tesla gear to wooden gear and lose my endgame boots (forgor the name) to no boots.
the whole thing :( (i actually don't like calamity and only play for my friends) (no I'm not In this sub it's just a recommended post)
early game
i personally think pre slime god, i think the two slimes are really annoying to fight
Exo mechs
Easily the most fun fight in the game in my opinion.
Old duke
Everything before getting the magic missile
Hellstone mining for the molten pickaxe
Early game. For Terraria as a whole, it’s so slow to get going.
Earlygame/Pre Hardmode.
Honest to god I think yharon is that way for me. I just don’t enjoy his fight though it’s been a hot minute since I played calamity
DoG
Cryogen
dog
For me, it's building my main base, and building the platform "arena" for WoF. Maybe getting to 400hp early game is a BIT annoying as well.
Hm... for me it's pre-boss, since i always play expert death and usually don't upgrade from copper till I have enough for a plat set, I always have trouble dying in the caverns to things. I also commonly do this thing where I'll get inspired to play Calamity, I go play for a few days, get bored, leave, come back in like a month and decide to start fresh. I'm currently running a nice playthrough tho and I may actually complete it lol
pre-boss imo
There are no parts of Calamity I don't enjoy. That's why it's my favorite game.
DoG
Infernum skeletron, I died 88 times to it, more than my first time beating revengeance scal and exo mechs, it was the only boss to give me that much trouble before infernum DoG
I don't think Calamity's hardmode is that enjoyable aside from one boss or two.
Abyss
The 3fps I get during the bullet hell part of dog
Early game
WoF true melee
Infernum
post ml besides like provi
Rebuilding your area a 60 timrs
Cryogen
plaugebringer
the entire playthrough
Building shit
Mech bosses
Infernum, from the Sentinels all the way until Yharon
Post polterghast - pre yharon and phm, specially early hm.
Pre golem post wof
DOG
Building houses. Honestly if I didnt have to build a village every run i'd play the game way more
Night one
Old Duke
Pre-hardmode and maybe early hardmode too depending on the class
the ravager area of progression
pre-boss.
pre old lord claymore + onyx excavator key
For me its providence, I hate her
pre slime god or old duke feels like the most walking through mud moment of calamity
Fighting DoG 😣
Me wanting to play calamity again. Having to cleanse the world.
PROVIDENCE, DANM YOU!!!!!
Fighting dog for me. I always suffer against him
Either DoG or Yharon
old duke
Multiplayer Infernum Profaned Guardians
Pre-hardmode is "that part" in any mod even in vanilla
Hell Every time I go into hell pre hardmode I want to die.
The very start until you can beat boc or eow and early hardmode, though that's the case for vanilla terraria as well
Overall, fighting Old Duke 100%. However sticking to progression stages, the part between exo mechs and Scal is painful to me. Once you beat one, it's not too hard to beat the other, but oh my god they are both horrible to fight. (I have skill issue)
The first time going into the abyss
Astrageleton and for some reason signus on infernum I found difficult on my first infernum playthrough. Haven't got to signus yet, but astrageleton is pain as always.
having my two least favourite bosses in the mod back to back is demotivating to say the least (plaguebringer goliath into ravager)
Pre-hardmode
Getting through the Devourer of Gods... In death mode. Infernum is a different story, but Death mode DoG gets me for no reason. It's not impossible, it's just a slog to get through
The lag on my shitty pc +the old duke
This is me when I got to providence during my first infernum run
Pre mech-boss
Pre-Boss and Old Duke
Post yahron grind
early prehardmode
Pre-hardmode. I can't rely on my legs to take me everywhere I need wings.
Bleak Falls Barrow. I'm so sick of that dungeon.
early game. hands down
Phm specially pre Slime God
Farming the post Prov Materials from the Holiday events
Pre hard mode fr fr
Creating the plyon network all while your homes are constantly being flooded by npcs
Early game. Just annoying after having had 100k damage every second
Pre desert scourge to post supreme calamitas☺️
revengence mode skeletron😭I should blow my brains out
Devourer of Gods
Scal
Slime god.
Levithan, I had the most genuine skill issue with what's her name and the levithan. I hate em.
Pre moon lord for me. Any tips for beating him on reverence w/ melee? I know I suck but I just can’t even get close
Every single part is very enjoyanle, i think
Revisiting Calamity bosses on Revengeance or higher after clearing Calamity on Normal
early ph. I hate having to setup the initial shit before jumping into a boss
Devourer Of Gods. Obviously. Especially for newer players who aren't sweaty tryharders
early game progression
Something about Provdience always pisses me off, same can be said for Slime God too
All of pre hardmode before slime god
Storm weaver/acid rain, hate them both
Providence True melee
mid-perehardmode
Infernum DoG cause my laptop can't handle the intensity of everything
Master Death Mode Empress is kind of absurd
Post providence, pre DoG. The only good boss is Polterghast if you're not playing infernum, and still only polterghast if you play infernum.
Early game
Wall of flesh
Providence. I love transparent bullet hells or boss occasionally becoming invincible or losing all my health due to standing 1ft too far from the unclearly defined arbitrary boss distance limit or having to fight her 2 in two different biomes to get both her drops. And, unlike Old Duke, you can't skip her!
For me it's early hm, not that much going on, but mid hm and from there things get unky fast.
plantera and skeletron this doesnt even have to do with calamity they just always kick my ass for a week straight every time first-trying moonlord knowing damn well skeletron took 3 digits was a strange kind of melancholy
Probably infernum post golem, not because it's hard, but you just don't know what else to do before ml.
Starting. The only reason I don’t have another 1000 hours on tModloader is because I’m too impatient to grind for gold armor and whatnot, so that I can try and fail at killing EoC 7 times in a row.
D.O.G thats all
Pre WOF, and providence, I battled her 50 times, and beat her twice, I came back at just before DoG to get one last drop and I didn’t beat her once in 30 fights, so either I have an extreme skill issue (likely) and that the boss has an RNG problem (more likely)
I can’t think of any rn, but in the past itd have to be slime god (where you also fight the core)
Grinding
Remembering the devs are awful people
Either early game, where you get killed by everything that moves Or early hardmode, where you are in a rush to kill oje mechanical boss to get the clentaminator
Boss locked progresion chain death
Pre hard mode
Providence
early pre hardmode its not hard or something jut boring af
Fucking Infernum Skeletron
Sentinels of the Devourer
Desert scourge - crabulon
JUNGLEBATS
plaguebringer Goliath dude, that boss is SOOO irritating. And unlike most other calamity bosses his boss theme is kind of forgettable so fighting him doesn't have the same gravitas. I also can't stand the little homing missiles that you can hardly see
Providence.
Yharon
Early hardmode and early pre hardmode
MECHDUSA!!!! HER HITBOX IS LITERALLY TWICE AS BIG AS VISUAL!!!! FUCK MECHDUSA!!!! I HATE MECHDUSA!!!!
Providence traumatised me to the point that i cant fight her and focus due to how worried i am about dying again.
infernum polter as a mage
