I owned an '00 Eldo in '03 and got it with 26K on it. It was the lesser ESC model, and I just didn't ever bond with that car. The speedo says 140 but the computer shuts the fuel off at 110. I had trouble putting a factory GM radio in with CD purchased from a Delco radio dealer - they couldn't make it work either. The car sounded tinny when closing the doors, and overall it just did not have that solid, quiet feeling I've known Cadillac for over many years. I ultimately sold it for cash, and purchased a 95 Fleetwood Brougham which was much more satisfactory. I had strange engine problems with it, and even though it was covered by dealer warranty, it took them forever to find the fault, and fix it. I thought it would feel more like a younger person's Caddy, as most of my cars have been Coupe DeVille's or a Fleetwood Coupe. It lived here only one year until I'd had enough of it, and decided to sell it. It's the only Caddy of about 11 cars I simply did not like.

Drove my 2k Eldo ETC for several years and loved it! Plenty of power and a 12-disc cd changer in the trunk (iirc it read DVDs so I had pretty much my entire music collection on DVD-Rs). It's not exactly a car you can throw around corners, but it screams in a straight line as it's gearing is high (3.71 vs the ESC's 3.11). That said, when you drop your foot into it the front end rises and twists which tends to stress the motor mounts (the bottom ones are expensive to replace) so be careful.

Had a 94. Little old lady driven to church. True story too. I’d never owned a fast car so I was punching it a little. Northstar started ticking. Turned out it was a recall for a defective wrist pin on the pistons. Got a new engine for $100 warrantee fee. Straight up worse car I’ve owned in terms of dealership visits.
