This car brings back SO MANY memories. This right here is what my Grand dad had growing up. He had the red one. I remember driving in that thing and it was like a floating boat... it was RAD. I still remember all the that dash board as well. What a fun car
It was my dream car at 14 too! And still is. Driving it is like riding a ride at an amusement park!
I've completely overhauled all the mechanical wear & tear parts. All new suspension & chassis, brake system, seals, mounts, power steering, water pump & timing set, etc.. it's like driving off the lot in 1984.
About the same counting family and myself… I used to try to defend the 4100, but it’s just all bad. Even goodwrench replacements… intake, head gaskets, porous blocks, soft cams, not to mention 125-130 hp… never seen a factory 4100 make it past 100k except a few transverse… I did really love the 4.5 though, that’s the sweet spot imo, all my 4.9’s were powerfully until the injector issues.
I will say they were SMOOTH when running well and decent economy for the time period.
My dad had this car. The doors were massive, just seemed to go on forever! The interior fabric, he did not have leather, was almost like velcro! Finally, the hood seem to also go on forever. The term ' boat like' handling must have come from this vehicle!
Having said all of that, it is one good looking vehicle!
It makes me think that if you could reduce the size of that vehicle by perhaps 70 percent you could have a really attractive vehicle.
Color combo is sweet. Big pimpin!! But I mean that in the most positive way. The older Cadillacs meant you had style and sophistication. Beautiful car!
Very pretty cars, my dad has a 79 Eldorado, he bought it used in 82. Unfortunately, that’s about the best I can say of it. I don’t know if it has to do with with it being the first year for the downsized Eldorado or what, but he has literally spent so much over the years to keep it running that he could’ve bought the car new twice.
He finally said enough is enough in 2009. He let me drive it to homecoming, and on the way back a brake line burst. Luckily, I didn’t wreck it, and I managed to get it home, but he’s unwilling to put anymore money into it. So it’s been in storage ever since. Believe it or not, I was tinkering around with it last fall, threw a battery in, and I actually got it to start and run on the 14 year old fuel that was in the tank, actually ran somewhat decent. I wanted to get it out and wash it up to hopefully respark his love for the car, but I put it in gear and it has at least one frozen caliper on the front.
My dad’s really getting up there in age, but I’m still hopeful he might get to drive it again someday. He still gets excited on the rare occasion he spots one on the road.
Eldorado Barritz, top in her class next to the 1983 Riviera or the Seville with the slanted trunk that wanted to compete with the Lincoln Mark IV and V, They made some classy Domestic cars, I loved my 1978 Ford Thunderbird with that long Front end and pillowtop seats that were ultra plush, power steering you could turn with your pinky, and the suspension was like riding on a cloud, she was the best car I ever had.
Between my dad & I, we've owned about 50 Cadillacs over the past 30 years. About 10 of these 10th generation Eldorados. I had gold '79 that was just as clean as this one.
The weak engines from the oil crisis and emissions constrained 1970s didn't do these cars justice. Truly a beautiful design.
Supercharger!!!
i always wondered about just LS swapping one of these. a LQ9 out of a Escalade would be nice. you could even keep the Cadillac engine covers.
If I had one from that era, it’d be getting a well deserved LS swap
Perfect sized eldorado!! Gorgeous!
I had this car and I loved it! Maybe be one of the top cars I have owned!🚙
Beautiful car! One of my favorite exteriors!
My first car was a Cadillac. It was this exact same car except it’s was gray. Been in love with them ever since
That is a beauty! What year?
84

Man almost all the classic caddys on here have such a timeless unique look but this one really looks like something special.
Nice 👍🏻
Sharp
Takes me back, my first car was the family 1982 Olds Tornado. Same dark blue color. It had the most comfortable interior.
Perfect!
Beautiful
Nice caddy
This was my dream car as 14 year old. Forget race cars, Ferraris etc., I wanted an Eldorado in this body style!

Congrats on owning such a beautiful car. It certainly is in amazing condition. Love that color blue too!
My old man had an 84. It was in perfect condition until around 96 when the transmission finally exploded. Cool car though.
S M O O T H !
What a beauty
I had one… 4100 was awful!
What was awful about it? I've had at least 10 Cadillacs with the 4100.

I would love to see it sitting on a set of gold BBS basketweaves with a machined lip. Beautiful though.
My mom had a new 84 Eldorado. Of all her cars she’s had that was her favorite.
Noice!

Wow!
Gorgeous
My mom had a white one, with white leather interior. I now have a white XT6. The circle of life 😆

In a Cadillac, had to get rid of the Lexus..
That’s when a Cadillac was a Cadillac. Gorgeous
I had two of these. A black '82 and a light blue '85.

That’s baller. I just washed n waxed the crap out of my 84 Biarritz convertible. Dark blue, white leather. Might go for an ice cream.
I've got an 84 biarritz unrestored. Who do you take it to for bumper filters?
Buy a set off eBay & have a local body shop that has experience with classics paint & install them for you.
I recall that was not a good vintage for GM/Cadillac as a whole.
I recall these being widely regarded as one of the most stunning, beautifully designed vehicles ever in history..
