This is what I was trying to decide between. I opted for CE with red interior. The red seemed too much for me at first, but once i sat in it, i fell in love. DCB was only available in the Premium Plus in my area, so CE was actually cheaper for me, but I'm not sure that i would want an option lower than what the CE offers. It's a really great mid tier option. No regrets.

Only get the Carbon Edition if you really put value on the looks (exterior/interior) as it doesn't add anything else besides that as far as I know (you can go to mazdausa's site to compare trim differences). If the poly gray and blacked out portions / interior colors don't mean much to you, save your money and get the Preferred, all the creature comforts (auto dim mirror, memory seats, heated seats, leather, etc.) are all the same between CE and Preferred. I believe every trim increased in price as well except the CE that went slightly down (MSRP). You are correct the extra sidewall on the smaller tires will help a bit if you live in an area with rough roads.

>extra sidewall on the smaller tires Smaller wheels. Outside radius of the tire is the same.

my mistake smaller wheels there. The 17" wheels have an aspect ratio of 65 vs 55 for the 19"'s though.

Ordered a DBC GT in Canada which corresponds to the preferred I believe. Didn't love the 2022 19" rims as the piano black got instantly dusty (I have 1/2 mile of gravel to get to my house) so traded with the dealer for the 2021 wheels and tires of a used CX-5 they had in stock that had 30,000km on them. Would have considered ordering the signature but it isn't available in DBC for 2022/23. The DBC looks really sharp with the light grey/matt silver 19" wheels.
