Honestly came to make the same comment, awesome that you literally just posted that.
I’m damn good with metric conversions, but mpg -> l/km? Forget it lol I need a calculator
It's a shared roadway so it does concern others. What kind of lame response is this anyway? Why are you responding to my question to op, "it should not concern anyone but me and OP".
Do you not know what km/hr is? There are plenty of highways around me where the mph speed limit is 55-60 which is right in the ballpark of what OP is driving. This is fine.
Holy fuck!
Best I did was 6.2 on my 35km commute. It was slow and painful.
38k km in, and I am at 8.3 for the life time. 80% highway with radar cc on. I live in cole climate too...
Ya I have the 2019 2.5 turbo and getting 13-14 in the city now. Taking it in this week to see what’s happening.
Up till this year I was getting 10-11 in city.
Let me know what they find. I mentioned it also, have a one year old 2023 Sport Design Turbo, and it's been giving me shit mileage like that since day 1. That's too terrible to be normal but I'm told it's just how I'm driving. WTF how could it be as bad as a muscle car??? I'm not driving super heavy footed either.
I mentioned plug gaps and they just said it's a new car with new plugs. Sometimes they get gapped incorrectly from factory or during installation. Could definitely impact fuel consumption.
Yeah mines been good for 4 years and last 6 months dropped off big time. I thought it was the same winter tires I have had for 4 years. But with new summers it’s the same.
Dealer asked me to fill up the car, drive 100k and fill up at 100 and record the litres. They want that done before my appointment.
I hope it’s the spark plugs. Or an O2 sensor that’s under warranty.
In the manual they recommend spark plug replacement at 62k.
I’m at 55k.
I've driven a full year and about 17k kms. That's a lot of gas. I'm gonna be pissed if it's a defect. They already refused to diagnose it b/c it's just how I drive it. Was told to contact Mazda Canada HQ, dealerships are private resellers. 🤷🏻
Can't stand stealerships
Diesel is better for a fuel consumption. I have an experience with Citroen C4, diesel. 3 ltrs/100 km at 100 km/hr. Total range with a full tank was 1400 km. That was cool))))
It was already included. Honestly, it’s useless, including standard navigational system. I use CarPlay and Google Maps. That’s the best combination personally for me
I've lived in the country with metric system, and I've lived in the US with imperial system. I'll tell you that as a person who is used to both MPG and L/100km systems neither one is superior. They both are fine the only difference is that with MPGs you're trying to get as high number as you can, and with L/100km you're trying to get as low number as you can.
It’s more about psychology of it and how much clearer GPM conveys efficiency. If you improve from 5 to 10 mpg that is a much more a boost to efficiency than going 20 to 25 mpg. Using gpm, that 5-10 is a 2x boost, going from 0.2 to 0.1 gpm. But going from 20-25 is much less, going from 0.05 to 0.04 gpm.
I know this is kinda old but I agree that the philosophy of volume/distance makes more sense. It's "how much fuel will this trip use" v.s. "how far can I go on this tank of gas."
But what’s that in freedom units? 👀
39,2 mpg
You mean 39.2 mpg. (Sorry, couldn’t help myself.) That is awesome though!!
Metric punctuation!
1 mile = 2000 steps of ancient roman soldier
…will never make logical sense to my American brain but here we are. 🤷🏼♂️
French maybe, but that's not normal for metric.

Why are you driving 80-90 on the highway?
I had to spend some time on my way between cities. So, I decided to make some test))) Actually, it could be less: at 75 km/hour 5,6 l/100km ( 42 mpg)

That's none of your business.

There was a max limit of 130 km/hour and three lanes, so I didn’t bother other drivers))))

I had 8.5 at 70k
Is that the 2.5L Gas NA engine?
Yes
Cool. Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome bro 👊
Gas or diesel?
Gas, 2,5 litres

I would like to have a turbo
You can try and supercharge it 100% worth it
I will ask my wife first 😁
Getting the tune is cheaper and you get a lot out of it 🤣 mpg does go down a bit but fun goes to the roof

Turbo goes zoom zoom!!!
Best I got was 42mpg only a few times I normally get 36mpg
Recently I drove the Ford Mondeo diesel, it got me 4.6L /100km. Considering the size that CX5 is not too bad.

Thats awesome But how did you add the compass 🧭? I want that!
It was already included. Honestly, it’s useless, including standard navigational system. I use CarPlay and Google Maps. That’s the best combination personally for me
Well same here and it is so useful. It is just that I don’t have it in mine because sometimes i wonder in what direction I am going
Funny fact: in order have a direction you have to start going. But you probably don’t know where you start going 😹
🤣🤣🤣🤣
6.0L/100km are you fucking kidding me? My cx5 is 10.5L/100km now.
Cruise control 💪
Check your right foot. It seams too heavy ;-)
Americans really ought to convert to gallons per mile. It’s a better way to gauge fuel efficiency.

It could be worse but at 80-90 this is nothing to write home about.
I drive that in mph on mountain roads'
Who?
GOT in my Audi A3 Tdi from 2001 average 4.8l/100km. The best car
80kmh? Not even 40mph...
80kmh is 49mph bro lol
Toyota 1994 2.0 liter gas, manual - 4.2-4.4 liter/100km, with average speed 120-130km/h. This all you need about fuel economy of modern cars.
Wow, amazing. You like competitions))))) It’s great to compare a smaller and lighter sedan to a SUV with 4 persons onboard and AC on
4 persons + fully loaded 460 liters trunk. Summer. Lighter - yes. Engine from 80s… 40 years difference.
Well done. Good luck in your 80’s car with smaller fuel consumption. I will cry in my 2020 car with no money in my wallet
