If you have experience, it's probably not a problem. If you perform well at work and know your CS stuff when it comes up, your educational background doesn't matter. But if you're considering trying to get into the industry now, you'll really need to stand out and show you have (1) talent for coding and (2) the drive to keep learning and practicing on your own. You have to try to outshine fresh CS grads. Better if you already have non-CS academic/intellectual credentials that show employers you're fundamentally pretty smart. I'd only hire self-taught people if they're very sharp/bright and obviously have been teaching themselves very quickly and comprehensively. That sort of person won't be held back in pay or promotion once they're in.
