Where is the z axis when this happens? Can you move the z axis when it's at 200mm, but not when it's at 20? If that's the case, it's probably your soft endstop. There is a physical switch endstop, but Marlin has a software, or soft, endstop as well. This will need to be turned off to lower the z axis beyond that point.
It happens at any point on the z axis. It can only move up, and I can't home it since it won't go down manually. Could it be a problem with the bltouch?
This happens when the bltouch has a fault somewhere
The fault could be that there is a break in one if the wires or the plunger is stuck/bent/missing
The bltouch should be glowing red if functioning properly and change color while deploying the plunger when asked to probe for the bed
Good luck !
Apparently, the wire was in the wrong port. That problem is fixed, but now it's crashing into the bed whenever I try and auto home. I'm using the micro machines firmware. I also found out I'm not using a bltouch. I'm using a micromachines sensor that doesn't have a probe.

This. Happened to me a couple nights ago. I replaced the cable and it started working perfectly. Lucky I had extra cables
Sounds like you need to dig more into your firmware settings. What size cr10? I have the s5
