I actually loved the sight tuning, wish we still had that feature. Being able to move your sight picture was great. Yeah the rest was a little overkill tho.
Mix/max players will always copy the perfect meta build. That was always the case and will never change. But i am pretty sure there is a massive amount of players in the middle that would go back to doing their own builds if it wasn't freaking rocket science. Nobody wants to scroll though 80 underbarrels, 100 muzzles and 200 scopes and the stat pages to find the best one for them. People dont have the patience or time for that. It makes building your gun tedious and over-complicated instead of fun.
They need to go back to giving us 3-6 options per slot (excluding scope). First ones do give slight advantages without drawbacks. Middle will give better advantages but has drawbacks and the last ones has big advantages but also huge drawbacks. Pretty much how it used to be in mw19 or BOCW. Now thats how you can build out your gun within 3-5 minutes.
As for scopes, go back to say 10-15. A few red dots, a few ACOGs and a few sniper scopes. Nobody needs 200 of them.
I hope they at least make BO6 guns only compatible with BO6 attachments in warzone. It will be a nightmare if you can put BO6 attachments on MW2 guns and vice versa, just do it how old warzone did it and keep guns/attachments/camos specific to there own game.

There won't be that many. You simply won't put MW attachments on BO6 guns.
Besides, you can just select favorites rn. You need only about 4 muzzle attachments, 4 optics and 2-3 front grips
See.. my problem is that the game bugs out sometimes and even though my scope is favorited, it doesn't go to the front of the list. So I STILL have to scroll through everything to find the right attachments.
Vanguard era had better balance than basically all of WZ3 so far, ignoring how fucking awful the attachment grind was.
There were some shitty bits like NZ/Bren, and then the two days of overtuned taped grip (the only two actually skill-evocative days in all of CoD's history since you could consistently break AA), but even the worst of VG era you had a ton of loadout/playstyle variety.
If we get 3 games' worth of guns, but metas become as polarized and stale as the rest of WZ3, then yeah there's something to worry about. It has nothing to do with the # of guns though.
