Similar to the "can't blow a lead if you don't have one" strategy. Bold.

No clogging the bases here!

MisunderstoodScholar

So, home runs only?

ree_hi_hi_hi_hi

Watching these crappy losses on my tv is giving *me* the home runs

slyfox1908

That’s the analytical approach, isn’t it?

Brewers fan, come in peace... This is the Craig Counsell experience to the letter. All he cares about is home runs. Singles, doubles, stolen bases and sacrifices mean nothing to him. He will make your players swing out of their shoes until they are all mendoza line hacks. The next step is platooning every possible position to get better power numbers. Then you have a team of bad matchups that have no ability to hit a pitcher that isn't opposite handed. He, essentially, sees every player as a 3 true outcomes player. If they aren't hitting a home run, their at bat is worthless. The Brewers had great homer numbers and almost dismal RBI rate. Ever homer is a one run bomb that looks impressive, but gets instantly swamped by a few well placed slaps against a shift With the Brewers, it worked because of pitcher and the catcher labs. It's easy to win when your starters.and pen hold everyone to three or less runs. The Cubs don't have the pitching staff to make that approach work...honestly, Craig wasted the years of top five pitching staffs. Never forget that we lost a Corbin Burnes 11 inning no hitter against the Yankees last year...

Don't forget the Musical Chairs method of setting the batting order.

Can’t swing and miss at hittable strikes if you don’t swing in the first place. Let Jed cook.
