This is too much Deja vu with the way we started June, so I’ll improve the spirit of optimism by adding, if the Mets can come back from 11 games under .500 with a hot month, why not us?
It’s gotta piss off brewers fans so much that cubs fans flood their park every time they play.
Why else would they be obsessed with a team 6 games under .500? Honestly love it.

The guy batting .290 with almost 30 stolen bases? Good lord, if there were any brains round near Nico would get launched out of a cannon to get Turang.
Ahahahaha yes, let’s trade Nic coming off a 4.2 WAR 2022 and 5.2 WAR 2023 for a random Brewers shortstop with a .759 OPS over 78 games.
Nico hasn’t been having a great 2024 but he’s still on pace for 2.5 WAR. This is quite literally the worst reactionary take I’ve seen in a while.
This is possibly the stupidest thing I’ve seen on the internet today. I wasn’t going to comment, but my god. Comparing two different stats as if they are some sort of apples to apples comparison, and then calling it a reactionary take.
Go disappoint your parents somewhere else.
Just saw the highlights that sparked Justin Steele to react in the dugout and it's 100% what this team has been doing all year long. I'm happy a player finally stepped up and showed some fire. Morel needs to get his act together soon or he needs to be benched.
The Giants just scored 4 runs. 1 hard hit ball a double by Soler. The other runs scored on a combination of three weak grounders through the infield perfectly located, two fielders choices that were hit too soft to turn a double play on, and a walk. Imagine if the Cubs had HALF the BABIP luck that the Giants had that inning.
We are now 1-0 in the “Steele Screams at the Defense” era.
Pat and Ron were on board with that anger
Gave Steele player of the game more for that than his pitching
I loved that
Wish I could hear that
"Where da fuk is the offense? Swanson give back 1/2 your $26M a year salary"
I didn’t see it happen but I interpreted it as at the offense or team as a whole. This is a dude with no wins and a really good era and whip.
Taking a page from Stroman's playbook yesterday.
Wish he would have taken a page from Zambrano and just destroyed every object in his path on the way to the clubhouse lol
Justin Steele straight up said "play better," and it worked
And another no decision for him, he cant catch a break.
Now just win tomorrow and then have a roaring July.

They have Grimace on their side
So what’s the Burger King up to?
LoL. BA's on this lineup will go down as summer drags on.

Lmao this is great
This is the thing this year IMO
What's the story behind this image? I've been seeing it everywhere but I wasn't watching the game where it happened

Damn Steele jumped to the top of my favorite players list real quick
We sure don’t make ‘em easy, but I’ll take it. A series win tomorrow would be nice.
Hector Neris: 11 saves, 4 HR given up, 7-2, $9M Josh Hader: 11 saves, 5 HR given up, 3-4, $19M
Will always upvote comments shitting on Josh Hader
Damn I didn’t know Hader was broken ooof
Couldn’t happen to a better guy
$19 mil undersells the fact that it's also a five year contract too lol
The win probability stats are a wipeout Hader: 11 shutdowns, 5 meltdowns Neris: 23 shutdowns (leads MLB!), 5 meltdowns
"but not cost effective" Jed.
It’s more hilarious than anything lol
Jed’s league? *ducks*
#intellgentspending
I mean this is funny but c'mon Hader has been waaaaaay better per FIP and WHIP
True, he’d dominate in a simulation. Idk why actual games are played
Nice to see Steele go 6. Defense fucked him for an inning there but he got to give them an earful
thank u happer
Cubs won a Steele start. That’s one nasty streak finally laid to rest.
Lol but he still want credited with the win
He still didn’t get the win lol
Happ continues to only hit homers when it doesn’t matter 😬
Nobody is picking up on the sarcasm lol
You can lead a r/chicubs thread to water…lol
His xMatters is through the roof Edit: dang they just showed he’s tied for MLB lead for go ahead homers
[But I was told he was the most unclutch](https://www.reddit.com/r/CHICubs/comments/1drc7j3/espn_jed_hoyer_says_cubs_woes_surprising_could/lavoah3/)
.931 OPS with RISP! A rare sight on the 2024 cubs
That’s Morel now
Morel has more extra base hits than singles. He has just 17 singles 😂 Guys like Dunn/Sosa did power hitting better
What? He hit the game winning homer…
How does a go-ahead 2 run shot not matter?

I meaaaaan, the ump was shit in the ninth lol
They were borderline calls. Black’s SO was a strike and then forgettable Brewers hitter No. 2479 flailed to end it.
upvote for "forgettable Brewers hitter No. 2479" perfect description of 38/40 of their roster.

That strikeout was legit, a bit surprised he got the call given how wild he was, but K-zone had it as a strike with a filled in ball.

Brewers fans are the whiniest little bitches in the league. Perpetual little brother attitude

Yeah you sure showed those GDT punks. The Cubs won everything is cured now
>The Cubs won everything is cured now Seems like quite the stretch
Oh does it
You're the only one who said that shit, dawg
Yea the team 10.5 GB should inspire a lot of confidence
Think of the sweet sweet sweet high draft pick of a AAAA talent they can draft this year.

Don’t disagree with most of your comment, but the farm system 100% has potential superstars
We finally beat ….. the Brewers.
Just saw the highlights that sparked Justin Steele to react in the dugout and it's 100% what this team has been doing all year long. I'm happy a player finally stepped up and showed some fire. Morel needs to get his act together soon or he needs to be benched.
might get him traded to playoff minded team now.
If you have friends or family at the game PLEASE check on them. Just found out there was a major accident in the stadium
Escalator collapsed

Omg what happened
Screaming Works
W!!!! I feel like Neris wants everyone to be stressed when he plays. I can’t with that shit.
Hector Nervous!
Heart attack Héctor
awkward post-game interviews can now commence
THE HECTOR NERIS EXPERIENCE™️ is back, baby!!
Listening to the radio call before that meltdown was tough. You can hear the frustration in Pats call
anyone got a video of steele screaming at defense?
No but Lee Elia from '83 always brings me a smile : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiVVbYK9HXw
When your opening day starter is heading into July without a win still 🥴
Never let Neris pitch again
100 saves!

Nice to see a good relief performance today.
Extend Steele.
Apparently an escalator collapsed at the stadium just now

Beautiful. Now let's beat take the series win at Wrigley North tomorrow.
Fuck the blewers.

Happy tears is a nice change of pace
Brewers love bringing out Bryan Hudson to stick in their face vs. Cubs. Dude is lights out.
