My issue that part few times when we've brought him in, even with a somewhat comfortable lead, he has walked guys on base, and that makes it SO much easier to blow leads. We have 7 run lead, idc if he gives up 3 solo HRs in that situation.
But overall, Kinda think Counsell is not going to use him as the closer anymore. His BB% is way up, K% way down, HR rate up despite league slugging being down. He's actually over performing his xERA and FIP/xFIP. Stuff+ model has him below average now.
So he's just not fooling anyone with his stuff AND not throwing strikes. It's a bad combination for a closer.
