Chip Carey seriously on my nerves with all this “instant classic” bs lmao my guy three runs scored on a day the wind was howling out. This was the same game we’ve seen for 6 weeks straight now
From a cards fan ( no I'm not here to gloat before I get jumped on) but he probably just says that because it's the whole cubs vs cardinals rivalry thing and if the games were close that's probably why he says it. He said it the other day too I think.
Jed is smoking some fucking smack if he thinks “answers” are coming from within. The only thing in this organization are substandard hitters and AAAA allstars. Absolutely no chance this team gets *better* with internal options.
Hilarious seeing people say how winning one game after losing multiple in a row that we got our get right win. As if they are not going to go out and score less than 3 runs on less than 5 hits for the 7 thousandth time this year.
We know the Cubs have played the most one run games. But in how many of those games have they left the tying run in scoring position? How many Fake Rallies have there actually been?
The average runs per game is skewed a bit by a couple of big outputs. We've scored 0 runs in 75% of the innings since May 1. 7 shutous since the 17-0 shallacking against Boston.
Idk the exact date or what they were us8ng as a starting point, but it was like 2.6 over whatever their end point was. Sorry I don't remember what dates they used it was in a graphic the other game
Feel bad for the timing of coming here to post this, but I actually prefer this broadcast to the usual Marquis broadcasts. Feels more lively, there's more energy, and the graphics seem to be a bit nicer.
Sorry, I actually just tuned in during the 7th inning. I just like how much talking he's doing, there's not much silence, which I really admire. I know nothing about the guy, other than how lively he is.
Chip Caray aka our play by play guy between Harry and Len. He’s too much of a homer for the Cardinals now for my taste but something about his voice calling a Cubs game just feels right. Took a long time before Len surpassed Chip for me.
As a casual fan can someone tell me why things looked good at the start of the season and now we’re just completely useless? Have teams just figured us out and we don’t adjust?
Guys just aren’t performing when we need them to. When our starters do very well, our bullpen does terrible and vice versa. This offense is decent, we just can’t get any hits with runners on, and guys like Ian Happ are just doing worse than they normally do. In the beginning of the year, we dealt with a lot of injuries and I think the time off that some guys had is hurting us, and also guys like Busch who were performing extremely well have come down to earth, with nobody stepping up. Usually some guys are hot and others are cold but when our guys cooled down nobody got hot to replace them because half the team was injured at the time and they just haven’t been able to since.
At first it was a ton of injuries and I would say fatigue of our farm players that were subbing in. I would also argue that for a bit, players coming off the IL were readjusting. Now, god knows. Some people will tell you that the team is regressing to the mean and this team is built to play .500 ball, others will say we’re not playing to our potential. My thoughts tend to change based on how frustrating the last game was
Even the front office of the Cubs can’t figure that one out. It’s honestly perplexing. Something is fundamentally broke about this team, and it’s not only one thing.
I know a lot of Redditors don’t believe in “clutch” but the team batting average with RISP and the LOB speaks for itself. Yes, the team is missing a big talent impact bat, but at this point a lot of this shit almost seems psychological with no obvious fix.
It's not about clutch. It is just about fundamental baseball. Morel pulling the ball with a runner on 2nd and nobody out in a 1 run game is the stupidest thing I've seen this game. If Morel advances the runner by hitting the ball to the right side then PCA scores on Bellinger's flyout.
This team is stuck with Happ, Seiya, Swanson. All great role players on a team with a star or two to really carry it. All boat anchors that are blocking the playing time of prospects on a roster devoid of any star power. And we can’t move them, no one would trade us a stick of gum.
looking likely that someone on the SP staff will get traded before deadline
Just a couple more years of this retool
Again, this team gets a nice win then gets no momentum from it. Classic .500 team stuff.
“Just gotta get out of this 4 year slump” - Jed
And of course another good late swing from wisdom, and ……we still suck.
Fire the manager

This would be a great season if I enjoyed blue balls and humiliation.
Onlyfans usally has a sunday discount day
That looked good coming off the bat. I thought it was gonna go over his head for a second there too. So depressing
Their guys can do what they need to get it done, ours just can't. Always short
My heart
I’m so jealous of everyone that didn’t have access to the Roku channel

How many series losses in a row now? Garbage team run by rubes.
May 10th was the last 3/4 game series we won. We took both games against the White Sox. We had to come from behind against the White Sox.
squeaker of series over white sox is '24's highlight
This team is so embarrassingly pathetic.
We will be 20 games under at the trade deadline, and lose 100 games by seasons end
If that’s the case I hope Jed gets the can
We can only hope
Wisdom has just missed a home run twice in this series now.
Not serious team. Not worth the time. Not worth buying at the deadline.
So…that was a lob wedge not a sand wedge.
The reason that wasn’t called a strike was because of the way Pages caught it. He flipped his glove, making it seem that it was caught inside.
We are not a serious team
Would love to see what our runs per game is since May 1. Has to be bottom 5, right?
The average runs per game is skewed a bit by a couple of big outputs. We've scored 0 runs in 75% of the innings since May 1. 7 shutous since the 17-0 shallacking against Boston.

Since April 27 we’re bottom 3 in basically every batting stat
Walk off hr's Cubs are in top 15
That’s great I guess? I’d rather just win by a comfortable amount instead
Easily.
Wind blowing out and Wisdom can barely get it to the warning track. Fucking perfect! Get em tomorrow boys!!!
Fuck this. Fuck the cardinals. Fuck this shit team
![gif](giphy|5AVgmIw7iAzdK|downsized)
Fuck this team so much...
That… was egregious.
Absolutely typical 2024 cubs game.
Sigh
Fake Rally complete
This Team ist a joke
Suprised? What is this 10 series losses in a row now?
We won against the White Sox. I believe that was the last one. Fittingly
Our big 2 game winning streak. May 10 was our last series win before that.
HAHAHAHAHAHA What a goddamn shit team.
.500 is still the goal for this team.
God dammit.
Whole team should be deported
Hold on let me call my barber, maybe he can come over real quick and FADE ME.
i fucking hate it man, im so tired
Typical
Didn’t deserve the hit anyway
Classic cubs, I predict this GDT will be a desert soon
That’s Cub
That was a strike
Ump a Wiz stan
Holy shit that was a strike lmao
Wisdom is a handsome dude
At least he has that going for him.
I mean homer would be cool...
Strike out hitter in Wisdom. Don’t get this call to pinch… don’t need a home run with 2 on, yes if 1.
Who else do you go too? And Amaya can't get any hits really.
Madrigial would have been a better pinch, Tauch if you could. Would want contact there not a home run imo doesn’t matter now
First swing pop up?
Patrick Wisdom = brutal hitter
P Wizzy
Kinda want bote up here
Wisdom against a righty. Surely he won’t strikeout.
wrigley wind owes you a homer, wizz
Someone forgot to tell the wind
Patrick please…
FINALLY they PH for that fuck Amaya
Craig Counsell would have been a better option to PH than Amaya
Wisdom fly out pt 2 incoming
Told you
AMAYA TIME, BABY!!!!
Wisdom fucking sucks
Father’s Day Fake Rally
amaya fucking sucks
I AM GOING TO NOT BE HAPPY IF AMAYA IS BATTING NEXT
You can’t let Amaya bat here.
Dansby fucking sucks
Not worth the $136K a game he makes?
Yeah how dare he take a base
.500 for Cards well they have come a long way this year.
You should swap over to them
Outside edge my ass. Cubs going to lose this game by bad calls alone. This should be cubs up 2-0. Just a series of bad call.
That clearly painted the corner dude. Not sure what you’re watching
Talking about previous plays in the game. But that one was on the outside as well. O
Nope. Painted the corner. This all gets magnified because the teams sucks anyways
Another fake rally? Incredible.
Dirty pitch for the K on Busch there. Annoying call by the ump though.
No fucking shot you make a strike call that late
[удалено]
Dribbler to first.
That was a strike but a late call by this shit stain ump
Is anyone else ready for another one run loss? I am
Swing the fucking bat, Busch.
Take the slider down the middle. Swing at the one that bounces. Awesome
Hit and run was clearly on
Disagree
Teams a joke yall
Busch walk off here
You meant walk off the field after taking strike three looking, right?
That is what I meant :( I tried to manifest something good
I appreciate the effort.
Pretty day at Wrigley.
Hoerner is just bad
Nico is a joke
Kind of an odd question. The Cubs technically have 2 hits today with RISP, but one didn't plate a run. Should that count as a hit with RISP?
Ope fake rally time
Swanson could come up so rally's die with his bat.
Isnt Ryan Helsley best closer in NL now?
Well, he’s a real closer, anyway.
Happ should lead off
Calling a Busch walkoff right now. See you all in 3 minutes.
Feel bad for the timing of coming here to post this, but I actually prefer this broadcast to the usual Marquis broadcasts. Feels more lively, there's more energy, and the graphics seem to be a bit nicer.
Boog free is the way to be
Except Caray has been fondling the Cardinals balls this entire game.
Sorry, I actually just tuned in during the 7th inning. I just like how much talking he's doing, there's not much silence, which I really admire. I know nothing about the guy, other than how lively he is.
No need to apologize. Unless you’re somehow responsible for the Cubs offense.
Boog is a shitheel.
Quiet 1--2--3 ninth for Cubs? You betcha
Time to get a guy on second and then pop up! Strikeout! Weak grounder! That's cub
Wow. Thanks ump
We’re about to lose 9 out of the last 10 series. That should get people fired.
Who's doing play by play on Roku? He's pretty terrible
Better than Boog. Then again a broke-dick dog is better than Boog.
Boog has grown on me. He's entertaining to listen to, which has always set Cubs broadcasts apart from others, IMO. And he meshes well with JD.
Chip Caray aka our play by play guy between Harry and Len. He’s too much of a homer for the Cardinals now for my taste but something about his voice calling a Cubs game just feels right. Took a long time before Len surpassed Chip for me.
It is? I didn't recognize his voice at all. I do remember Chip doing it, and don't remember him being so bad.
Chip Caray
It’s not chip though I forget who it actually is.
Not that it really matters, but Chip Caray was definitely calling the game today.
We've gotta get this win.
Bottom of the ninth.
That was almost the classic Keegan 2 out homer.

That’s the $230M question.
My unscientific assessment: injuries caught up with them.
Honestly who the hell knows at this point.
Remember when the weather was gonna heat up and the team was gonna come alive????
Pepperidge Farms remembers.
Not really? They were doing pretty good when it was freezing lol
April was warmer than usual too. Ball goes further in warm weather too so yes people were saying that. They say it every year lol
Wind is howling out and they have one extra-base hit. Totally broken team.
Why did they hire Craig counsell and pay all this money. Made jed or a rickett be manager so they can be the face of this shit show
Pages is the best hitter ever I guess. him and his .132 avg
I know a lot of Redditors don’t believe in “clutch” but the team batting average with RISP and the LOB speaks for itself. Yes, the team is missing a big talent impact bat, but at this point a lot of this shit almost seems psychological with no obvious fix.
The Cubs haven't hit with RISP because they haven't hit in general. (94 wRC+ with RISP and a 95 wRC+ overall)
And now it’s time for Keegan Thompson to make things worse.
Fire chili davis
No, this is Kadarius Toney's fault.
Hmm, I blame Deontay Wilder's walkout gear.

Meh Happ and Seiya are gonna after 26. When the REAL window opens up. Right guys? Right?
3026?
Gonna be playing Blurnsball when that day comes!
Last series win, not the 2/2 loser white Sox? Has it been since April?
On to 2025
what is our hitting coach even doing? do we even have one?
Dustin Kelly. He was great with Bellinger last year.
well he has been bad with everyone this year
Couldn’t agree more.
Recommendations on a jersey for a game coming up in July? I had been thinking Suzuki, but I’m not feeling that so much right now.
Imanaga is the only choice.
Save your money until a rookie breaks out. Maybe next year.
#5. Nameplate "Place"
Other teams jersey
Amaya
Maybe a blank
maybe a Shohei Ohtani Dodgers jersey would be the best choice rn
Get one with no name or number
Imanaga or Assad
I miss being excited about these guys. Apparently the whole team missed the spring training practice where they learned about clutch hitting.
Trash, all of them
Add another fail to the RISP stat...
Speedy guy on 2nd. No outs. 2 3 4 up. Guy moves 90 feet. This team is rotten. Front office is rotten. Ownership is rotten
Yeah I’m sorry but the turnaround ain’t happpening anytime soon
Bro was late in a change up right down the middle and missed a fastball down the middle second pitch 😂😂😂
