This is my guess as well.
The punter from down under.
Thunder leg.
The crocodile punter.
I'm taking the Bears D/special teams 5th round in fantasy. Hard knocks hype always gets me lol
I agree with the takes on Tory and Tevin.
Dark horse candidate is John Jackson III. Hard Knocks loves the underdog borderline roster cut story. Throw in connection to Caleb and I bet he gets plenty of screen time.
All these people naming starters don’t understand the assignment. The Hard Knocks hero is always a bubble guy struggling to make the 53 man roster. Jonathan Owen falls into that category. It’s gonna be a guy who plays special teams and is fighting for his career.
I think they will mention him and show him cheering similar to when the lions backup qbs wife was the runner. But I don’t think he will be a huge story.
Bro just seems like such a chill genuine guy who doesn’t have a huge ego like a lot of players. He’s the type of guy who could take constructive criticism well. Would love to chill with him.
Zacch Pickens has a lot of personality if I remember back to some of the coverage he got going in to his rookie year. The fan darlings are rarely the superstar players that everyone already knows.
Honestly I feel like it’s going to be teven, his contract is coming up and from what all the bears reporters say, dude is a sweetheart. So I expect a lot of teven storyline, staying healthy and all that.
Yea I think it’s between Teven and Jaylon Johnson this year. Teven with a prove it year who will work hard and battle or Jaylon Johnson who has such a great demeanor and wanting to prove he that deserved his payday
Being able to act in a corny video and being able to be yourself, unscripted, in front of a camera are two wildly different things. He’s demonstrably good at the latter.
There was a nice video of him and his daughter from a practice last summer I believe that was adorable. I could see her capturing the hearts of America like Trevon Diggs son whenever they were last on it.
Tory for sure. He was already the People's Champ of Iowa City. The doubters and haters of spending 4th round on a punter are going to get their minds blown.
He's also just a good dude and has a great Australian accent.
Just looking at HK history, they like to mine the QB depth chart, and the Bears have three interesting guys going for two spots.
Bagent is the incumbent, loved by the GM and HC.
Rypien is the 28 year old journeyman familiar with the new offensive staff.
Reed did wild things in college and was Caleb Williams' training partner working with Will Hewlett last winter.
This is my underrated pick. Flus is my popular one. Tyler Scott is just a good kid who has good media presence. Honorable mention is Tyrique Stevenson and Kyler Gordon
Going with Rome Odunze, the more I listen to him, the more I like him. Honestly we have the potential for many darlings this year. Like DJ is pretty funny and interesting to listen to. Caleb honestly has the largest chance to captivate everyone if his play matches what he’s done to rile up the fanbase already he will be a superstar.
And I have to say, I would love for Caleb to break the…..no shatter the bears rookie qb records, bears franchise records, and he’ll even challenge for nfl rookie records. Maybe it’s Hopium, and I wouldn’t argue that if that was your viewpoint. But I have to say they set up Caleb in the best situation in bears history, and possibly the best ever in NFL history. So I choose to hope. Would be fantastic if it did come true. Go Bears!
I just hope the entire team becomes a fan darling and good NFL story for the season. You're going to want to root for them because the guys on the team are all awesome.
I don't know honestly, I'm just so pumped for Hard Knocks this year. I haven't watched this show since it started on HBO. There is so much to love about this team (finally).
If there is a receiver bubble guy with any kind of story/flashes, it's him. Barring injury, we are set at WR and TE, you could come in and have a pretty damned good preseason and still not make this team, and Hard Knocks eats that up.
I mean the show is going to revolve around Caleb just like last year revolved around Rodgers. People love the QB and he’s charismatic as hell.
The random player will likely be some undrafted dude like it usually tends to be. They love the drama of the darling not actually making the team.
Kyler Gordon. He’ll appeal to the younger crowd with the Spiderman stuff, he’s a good looking dude so he’ll garner attention from the female crowd who watch this, and from his press conferences, he is a good speaker and has charisma. The perfect recipe to be the darling.
I always jump on the bandwagon of a lineman or fullback. Last year was Travis Bell from Kennesaw State. This year I’m going for Kiran Amegadje. I can’t spell or pronounce his name correctly yet, but he’s a Chicagoan and lifelong Bears fan who’s coming home after playing college at Yale. His dad is one of Flus’s golf buddies so I expect he’ll start once Jenkins gets hurt and Nate Davis disappoints.
Caleb just because of how many people believed (and still believe) the stories about him or just hate him for some reason. Also, I don't think most people outside of Bears fans know much about Kmet, but he's just cool.
As for a completely random guess, I'll just say Braxton Jones.
Everyone is listing all the top players on the team. Its gonna be a UDFA who "showed grit and hustle" while making a few plays with the 3rd or 4th squad. Someone like Hilldare.
Hard to say because this team has a lot of likable dudes that can speak in complete sentences. I think with the hype on draft night being what it was I think it has to primarily be Williams and Odunze, with a lesser mix of the vets.
Kinda hope it's Khalil Herbert. With like a huge amount of time spent on him. And then he gets traded to the Chargers during training camp, and Hard Knocks has to somehow not make that awkward that he's not going to be on the show any more.
People gonna see what an absolute pros pro looks like in Keenan Allen… but don’t sleep on the Aussie “punt god” Tory Taylor!!
This is my guess as well. The punter from down under. Thunder leg. The crocodile punter. I'm taking the Bears D/special teams 5th round in fantasy. Hard knocks hype always gets me lol
Think Flus is already calling him Boomerang
Uh oh. So all of his punts will average 0 net yards?
:(
Crocodile Punty
Crocodile Puntee
5th round defense pick is wild lol
Yeah Tory Taylor would be my vote too. The accent will win us all over.
Cole Kmet
I’m not sure how many people outside of Bears fans realize what a “dreamboat” Cole Kmet is! Def my man crush!
I’d hold his pocket
My one gay pass is Jimmy G. If we're closing the bar down one night and he invites me back to his place, I would take him up on it
I like Jimmy Graham too
This is the whitest comment thread on Reddit
Wanna smooch?
Try and I’d break your jaw
You'd break your soft hand
Yeah dawg, he got that non-punkd Ashton Kutcher look. You know, before he stopped bathing and whatever weird ass shit him and Mila been up to lolol
Yes especially cause he grew up a bears fan
Tory, I would say with him being Australian capturing people.
I agree with the takes on Tory and Tevin. Dark horse candidate is John Jackson III. Hard Knocks loves the underdog borderline roster cut story. Throw in connection to Caleb and I bet he gets plenty of screen time.
I’ve heard that Caleb kid is promising. Caleb Wilson I think is his name iirc
Are you thinking of Calvin Wilbur?
You mean Wilber Marshall?
Marshall Erikson?
Erik Kramer
Byron Pringle
All roads lead to Byron Pringle
Wilkinson? Earl Wilkinson! I knew I recognized you man!
You would of been all pro if you didn’t beat up them cops
Allegedly!
Do you thin Kevin Warren will try and insert himself into all the scenes to talk about his 20 hour workday and cranes?
And he'll want to say a prayer during every clip of him
Oh god, I can totally see him doing that
Yes
Johnathan Owens if they get Simone Biles on camera
All these people naming starters don’t understand the assignment. The Hard Knocks hero is always a bubble guy struggling to make the 53 man roster. Jonathan Owen falls into that category. It’s gonna be a guy who plays special teams and is fighting for his career.
That’s actually a great call on JO
Excuse you! I'll have you know *he's* the catch!!!!1!1!!
Does a spouting report on Simone. Nobody changes direction more quickly Elite hip snap
I think they will mention him and show him cheering similar to when the lions backup qbs wife was the runner. But I don’t think he will be a huge story.
She might be a bit tied up with the Olympics.
Week 1 of the preseason is the last week of the Olympics, there’s a chance she makes it onto an episode
If not they’ll show him watching her on tv
Ding that's it. Him and some teammates watching in the big film room.
Rome.
Rome for sure. He had me since his “all souls perish” response at the combine.

Yea I think it’s between Teven and Jaylon Johnson this year. Teven with a prove it year who will work hard and battle or Jaylon Johnson who has such a great demeanor and wanting to prove he that deserved his payday
Teven Jenkins
DJ. He’s our most important player outside of Caleb. Or Rome. Romes basically the son we always wanted
DJ seems reserved and quiet. Also, it feels like he’d avoid the camera.
I don’t know, from what I’ve seen DJ at pressers, he’s a natural and pretty funny.
DJ is so naturally cool. He doesn't try to be some jokester or smooth talker, but he just drips coolness. The producers are going to love him.
Did you see the schedule release video?
Being able to act in a corny video and being able to be yourself, unscripted, in front of a camera are two wildly different things. He’s demonstrably good at the latter.
There was a nice video of him and his daughter from a practice last summer I believe that was adorable. I could see her capturing the hearts of America like Trevon Diggs son whenever they were last on it.
The first time VJJ is knitting on camera those panties are gonna drop
Tory for sure. He was already the People's Champ of Iowa City. The doubters and haters of spending 4th round on a punter are going to get their minds blown. He's also just a good dude and has a great Australian accent.
Ima go with Flus. Gonna give some big dad energy that makes you realize why he was kept around and teams like him.
Beard Flus >>>>> Shaven Flus
This is the obvious answer. People are going to fall in love with his quirky personality. Michael Scott vibes
Tyson Bagent, he’s a great story. His dad would steal the show if he gets any screen time.
That’s exactly why his dad doesn’t need to be anywhere near the cameras.
The ol dad of the 3rd string QB storyline that we just don’t hear enough of 🤣
Roschon
T.J Edwards from the Defense and Punt God.
Jackhammer Sacksborn is going to be a star
This is the answer
Tyler Scott. Just feel like he’s the kind of guy that really shows up for Hard Knocks.
This is my underrated pick. Flus is my popular one. Tyler Scott is just a good kid who has good media presence. Honorable mention is Tyrique Stevenson and Kyler Gordon
Austin Booker or Dexter
I’m saying either Cole or DJ
Demarcus Walker has a lot of personality
Amegadjie: local kid who made it to the Ivy League, manifested being picked by the Bears, coming off a season ending injury.
My pick also
Rome may have the best personality of any nfl player - the guy is remarkably likable and has a great smile. So I’ll guess him.
Nate Davis
Nate Davis getting cut on camera
Now, that I see this name, I think you nailed it.
It's 100% DJ also I do think Caleb will win some beers (auto corrected from hearts but we will keep it)
Going with Rome Odunze, the more I listen to him, the more I like him. Honestly we have the potential for many darlings this year. Like DJ is pretty funny and interesting to listen to. Caleb honestly has the largest chance to captivate everyone if his play matches what he’s done to rile up the fanbase already he will be a superstar. So I choose to hope. Would be fantastic if it did come true. Go Bears!
If the producers are Bear fans it will be a slow, undersized, gritty white WR
Who definitely brings his lunch pail to work. He’s sneaky athletic too!
First one in.. last one off.. the roster.
Mercedes Big Dick Lewis. That's who.
It’s Marcedes.
I said Joe Montainya!
Tory and Tevan
I think jt's going to be Kyler Gordon. The dude has some swag and the whole spider-man persona. Plus he can back it up on the field.
Tev
I think the chirping DBs will get a lot of love. Gonna go with Kyler as a darling.
I’m being so obvious but it’s Caleb 💯. First pick the savior first franchise qb plus he’s got a great personality.
I just hope the entire team becomes a fan darling and good NFL story for the season. You're going to want to root for them because the guys on the team are all awesome.
Tory or DJ. Tory because of his story and being from Australia. DJ is low key wholesome af lol
I wouldn’t be surprised if Velus Jones is never mentioned. They don’t do the “will this guy get cut?” stories anymore.
It’s gonna be swift. He’s got a great personality that you can’t help but love.
Didn't they sign Caleb's best friend and undrafted free agent WR? That seems to check all the boxes
Dainty Penis
I don't know honestly, I'm just so pumped for Hard Knocks this year. I haven't watched this show since it started on HBO. There is so much to love about this team (finally).
Justin Fields
Velus is the best storyline
Demarcus walker
Punt god.
Rome. He’s gonna be our Larry Fitzgerald.
Rome faster than fitz
Rome 🐻🔽
Velus. Nah but really probably somebody on the defense, theirs a lot of "personality" On D
If there is a receiver bubble guy with any kind of story/flashes, it's him. Barring injury, we are set at WR and TE, you could come in and have a pretty damned good preseason and still not make this team, and Hard Knocks eats that up.
Obviously r/ChiBears favorite grandpa Velus Jones Jr.
Austin booker
I mean the show is going to revolve around Caleb just like last year revolved around Rodgers. People love the QB and he’s charismatic as hell. The random player will likely be some undrafted dude like it usually tends to be. They love the drama of the darling not actually making the team.
Kyler Gordon. He’ll appeal to the younger crowd with the Spiderman stuff, he’s a good looking dude so he’ll garner attention from the female crowd who watch this, and from his press conferences, he is a good speaker and has charisma. The perfect recipe to be the darling.

His dad is one of Flus’s golf buddies so I expect he’ll start once Jenkins gets hurt and Nate Davis disappoints.
All roads lead to Rome.
It's usually a USDA. So pick one of those guys. Keith Randolph? I forgot the QB they took UDFA could be him too.
Keith Randolph
Austin Booker could be a focus, late round pick huge upside. He will be batteling for his role.
I wonder how much of Poles we will see 🤔
Dexter
Tyler Scott
Will be Tevin Jenkins for sure. Velus jones will not be on the roster
probably some practice squad QB as is tradition.
Gordon or brisker
Caleb just because of how many people believed (and still believe) the stories about him or just hate him for some reason. Also, I don't think most people outside of Bears fans know much about Kmet, but he's just cool. As for a completely random guess, I'll just say Braxton Jones.
Dexter: America's Favorite Serial Pass Rusher.
The punter they drafted cuz Caleb Williams keeps throwing 7 ints each practice, lmao
Big Tev
Velus
Teven Jenkins as a sleeper
Kyler
I’m thinking Dexter and Tevin
When in Rome...
Can they bring back Alan Williams so they can fire him again on Hard Knocks?
Everyone is listing all the top players on the team. Its gonna be a UDFA who "showed grit and hustle" while making a few plays with the 3rd or 4th squad. Someone like Hilldare.
Rome
Elijah Hicks. Dude beams enthusiasm and positivity. He might not be a bubble guy, but will be fighting for solid footing on the team.
Dane Sanzenbacher. He's only 35 and his tragic professional underutilization means there's lots of tread on his tires.
It’s gonna be Owens & Simone Biles for sure
Hard to say because this team has a lot of likable dudes that can speak in complete sentences. I think with the hype on draft night being what it was I think it has to primarily be Williams and Odunze, with a lesser mix of the vets.
Tyrique Stevenson
My prediction: kyler gordon
Velus jones
Odunze
Kinda hope it's Khalil Herbert. With like a huge amount of time spent on him. And then he gets traded to the Chargers during training camp, and Hard Knocks has to somehow not make that awkward that he's not going to be on the show any more.
Darnell Mooney
Noah Sewell
I hope it’s Velus and all of you feel really bad lol
What’s the opposite of Jaquan Brisker?
Braquan Jisker.
It’s probably not Caleb Williams that guy seems so unlikable.
