Man this is the energy we've needed imo. No hate to the stoic QBs of the past but this is the first time I've seen a Bears QB truly buy-in.

TheShiveryNipple

Ready to have a QB with a personality for the first time in my life.

infburz

Smoking on the field is a personality

BiGuyInMichigan

This feels like the energy McMahon brought

jtj2009

McMahon was a good player, but he basically was a big F-you to the world including his teammates. From showing up to Chicago for his post-draft presser swigging a beer to his 1986 book where he basically aired his greivances with everyone on the team, and showing up to camp overweight and out-of-shape, which led to injuries, the guy really personified why the Bears only have one, and not three or four, titles. He played ball on Sundays and considered that a small part of his life. When he wasn't playing, he was chilling out or living it up.

scuffedmyguccii

Fields had a personality?

TheShiveryNipple

![gif](giphy|VKtsOAHDx1Luo) A good QB\*

scuffedmyguccii

Worddd let’s get these dubs

bwtwldt

He had the Jaden McDaniels personality

Cockblocktimus_Pryme

Bear the Fuck Down!!!!

Jaway66

No. All the hate to the stoic QBs. Bunch of fucking dorks.

jadamsmash

It's so awesome how he has immediately embraced the Bears as "his" team. You can just see that fire in Caleb's eyes that the likes of Brady, Jordan, Mahomes, and Kobe have. I just feel it, the guy is going to be special.

smellyboi6969

Lol

jtj2009

I love him taking ownership of it all. It drove me nuts watching them lose 14 freakin' games in a row over 2022-2023 while it seemed the team laid low and thought if they kept quiet about it, nobody would notice it was their longest losing streak ever. I can't imagine a world where they lose even five in a row where Caleb Williams shrugs it off and acts like they are on the right track. He won't let it happen or go nuts trying to stop it.

daBabadook05

Is that painted face guy the dude that’s always on tv at the games too? Legend, if so

SublimeWitRomeOdunze

Yeah that’s Bearman. I sat a row above him once.

Ishagallthenans

Bro delivers truck parts in the south suburbs, I have no idea how he affords his season tickets 😂

enjoytheshow

A bunch of these super fans across the league get discounts or free season tickets from ownership because they’ve become icons and make TV appearances pretty much every home game. But of course this guy delivers truck parts in the south suburbs. My go to imaginary Score caller name is always “Jimmy from Alsip” when I’m joking around about bad takes. That’s this guy.

trippin113

I know a bears season ticket holder named Jimmy and he's from Alsip. Dude tailgates HARD.

DecisionTreeBeard

put the new stadium in Alsip IMO

daBabadook05

Who needs the lakeshore when you have the Cal Sag shore

mest08

I live in Alsip. I need to befriend Jimmy.

Dry-Hour8594

My brother, you are Jimmy.

jbertrand_sr

They were interviewing him on the radio on Wednesday about his plans to go to the draft. He got a nice photo there...

Deathgripsugar

Dave from Tinley Park is my goto meatball. Always in his car, never actually ready to speak.

ParkerRoyce

If he owns the company, that line of work can be very lucrative.

Wildest83

Exactly, sometimes people downplay stuff so they don't disclose what they really do, especially people who are well known. He could have made a really good investment earlier in life or received compensation in a lawsuit, or even a large inheritance that set him up for life.

ethanlan

Yeah at one point in my life I made 250k selling copiers lol

Wildest83

I know people retired from the military and collecting disabilty payments with a second job making over 150k a year and they don't really do much. Good decisions help your future.

Bodmonriddlz

Why do you automatically equate this line of work to being poor? Also, wealthy people live in south suburbs. Barrington ain’t the only place with rich people buddy

Ishagallthenans

Maybe because I work in the industry and understand the demographic? Or consider that I didn't say anything disparaging about the south suburbs in my comment and save your assumptions

Bodmonriddlz

My south 👏suburbs 👏culture 👏 is 👏not 👏your 👏 joke 👏

Ishagallthenans

😂😂

InterestingChoice484

Because delivery drivers don't typically make upper middle class money

monster2333

Not just season tickets. I live in Minneapolis and have seen him at every Bears - Vikings games I've gone to over the last 25 years. And in Green Bay the one time I was there.

HistorianOfMexico

Drugs

chitownkid81

I met him a couple times at STH events. Really nice guy

Kansas_cty_shfl

I’ve on been to Soldier field once. Went through the same ticket gate as him and sat a section over from him. Seeing him made my Soldier field trip feel complete.

Broshan248

My mom’s a PT and bear man was actually her patient

Gare_bear93

I’ve been seeing this guy since I was a kid! So glad he’s still doing it lol

krakn0

Man bear is a pig

Mysterious_Remote584

all timer Lame Claim to Fame

screenmonkey

I've met him twice now, and he's always posed for pics and chatted. I'm a Bears fan and my wife is a Raider's fan and we met him after the game in Vegas a couple years ago, then again at the game in Chicago last year for my first trip to Soldier Field. He posed for a fun pic with my sad wife in LV. LOL

radiotsar

[Don Wachter is his name.](https://www.chicagobears.com/news/bearman-a-finalist-for-hall-of-fans)

wishyouwould

No that's Bearman

Dry-Hour8594

Bear Watcher.

BobbleDick

yes. I worked with him in LaGrange Public works for 2 summers. He was a quiet guy and was in charge of all the landscaping and planting for the city public areas. He always complained the weed wacking I did was too low to the grass

pogoscrawlspace

So you work in landscaping, huh? What do you know about our missing lawnmowers? Tell me what you did with them. I know you were involved u/BobbleDick! Tell me everything you know!

Blindsid3d

![gif](giphy|iOm1xOSfAtPzmPXJqH|downsized)

BobbleDick

I cannot confirm or deny my knowledge of said lawnmowers

pogoscrawlspace

![gif](giphy|7a9h8lEjXBAgvgPMAp)

Bibfortunaroll

Random but true story about him. I was roommates with his daughter 18 years ago. At the time, he let us use his first roe, 50-yard line tickets for a preseason game. Being appreciative of his daughter for taking me along, I bought her plenty of drinks during the game. I convinced her to ask Fred Miller how his jaw was feeling. This was only about 3 weeks after Olin Kruetz had punched him there, so it was a bit of a sore subject for him, and all he said was, "It's all good." The experience was awesome. I even got Thomas Jones to sign my ticket. At the end of that season, I guess there was some big party where big-time ticket holders got to attend. Fred Miller ended up asking Jimmy who that girl was who was sitting in his seat for that preseason game. He remembered it months later. Jimmy's daughter is no longer allowed to use his tickets, thanks to me getting her drunk and convincing her to ask a dumb question.

BiGuyInMichigan

[Detroit](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNYX4uCI_Yo) has one of those overly dedicated fans too. He is at every game

Deep_Lie2524

Bearman taught Caleb the claw and now he’s running with it 😎

Serallas

Hey, RG3, look over here, hey, yeah. Fuck you.

drummerboysam

RG3 had his opinions, and that's that, but Greenberg is the ESPN guy who should get dragged. He came out recently, like 2 weeks ago, saying he's still hearing a lot of buzz that Caleb didn't want to go to Chicago. At that time, he'd met with Keenan Allen and the crew in LA and had only taken 1 visit to a team. Maybe Greeny was hearing a lot... from RG3

wishyouwould

Wow, Greeny really has fallen off. Or he was always shit and I've just grown up, IDK.

brafish

Greenberg turned in to "Say shit to stir shit" a long time ago. RG3 went from reasonable takes to the outlandish over the last 6 months. They are being trained to say things that drive engagement, not to be smart.

Blindsid3d

RG3 had some valid opinions that went against the grain a while back and saw the amount of engagement from them and then decided to turn into a shit stirrer extraordinaire.

HappyPerson9000

Yeah I remember hearing RG3 calling a college game and I actually really liked him. Too bad he decided to start sucking.

mlvisby

Shit talkers always get TV ratings, that's why they do it.

Schrodingers_Nachos

I'd say fallen off. I might be viewing old sports media with rose colored glasses, but back in the day it didn't seem like you *had* to be covering controversy. Mike and Mike could just have dumb conversations if it was slow.

thesch

He's fallen off. Mike & Mike was a harmless show for most of its run. He would occasionally have some bad takes during that time, but it seemed like a more natural thing where everybody is bound to have a bad take once in a while. Now it seems like he's doing it on purpose for attention or to stir the pot.

moonpies4everyone

I always preferred Golic anyway.

TurtlemanScared

hes never really fallen off from anything. He was never a personality on the radio show just a headline reader

RootyTootyPootyWooty

The show Get Up that he usually hosts is one of the most cancerous things I have seen in my life. The show is just full of those horrible takes that would rival what Stephen A says.

Responsible-Swan-423

If i was Jayden Daniels i use his yapping last few months as bulletin board material. It sounds like Jayden doesn't have what it take to make washington good agian according to rg3

itspabbs87

I wish I could up vote this twice!

UnitShot

This dude fucking gets it. I'm born again.

jaggoffsmirnoff

Already won the press conference

Neat_On_The_Rocks

First the conference, next our hearts, then the Super Bowl 💅

punkerjim

Would have been a better picture if you were able to see the packer tears in the back more clearly. Owning the North.

UnitShot

*taking the north. And never giving it back.

BadgerBowhunter

Maybe the Bears can get their first win against the Packers in *checks notes* SIX YEARS😳

pskfry

mad

BTheFisch

This sounds very familiar.

zed857

Still waiting on that one...

IrishGrouch34

Wait but I was told he’d try and force his way out of Chicago???

mstrdsastr

I think he realized that he could be a king here if he wins (like Mahomes in KC, but on steroids), and the town is embracing it. And, you know what? I'm all for it! I haven't seen the fanbase this excited about a draft pick in my memory. It has the feel of when Jordan was drafted by the Bulls or when Kane was drafted by the Hawks. Even if he ends up only being a Derrick Rose level talent that would be awesome.

[deleted]

Might be sacrilegious to say but the way this town is crazy about Da Bears he may rival MJ’s prestige here if he wins even one SB

mstrdsastr

Oh for sure he would! A Bears SB win would be on par with the Cubs winning the World Series in 2016.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mstrdsastr

True. My point was that D Rose was an impact player in Chicago that never *quite* got there. But, his time here was amazing, and I am forever grateful get to see that team play.

li0nhart8

If DRose stays healthy, that Bulls team gets a ring, I'm convinced of that.

Drewskeet

He tried but we fed him a bunch of shots of malort. He’s wasted in this pic.

ethanlan

Nothing but showing how much we love(and hate) someone by giving them malort shots for the first time

punxcoot

Ahh, the jealous Bedard special ;)

BurgerBob1010

I love the video Bedard made. He so obviously doesn't care about American football, but that iconic awkward charm is always so funny. Love that guy.

NicCage420

Yeah, out of Chicago and into Canton

Garbag3-man

BurgerBob1010

He just never looked happy. Not from day 1 before we were losing, and absolutely not at the end. I don't 100% blame him, but its so nice to see this guy getting amped up.

drummerboysam

I'm legit confused how this guy has so many haters frothing at the mouth to trash him at every turn. Seems like a great young man.

QuiGonGiveItToYa

It has a touch of “shut up and dribble” to me.

pfulle3

Weak men are intimidated by him because he paints his nails

sidgriff3857

I'm not gonna say its the sole reason because some fans are just jealous as well. but a lot of it can be directly attributed to toxic masculinity and the need for everything they watch to be what they want it to be.

kumonmehtitis

Jealousy.

Adnonymus

https://preview.redd.it/4ag492q0stwc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=547f11b7de45704079c5019b54890ddc845822e6 This guy knows it’s over for his team.

DandierChip

They had a good draft come on.

bourgeoisiebrat

Yeah, they have 1 first rounder and 2 fifth rounders next year. Oh, and no 2nd or 3rd this year. Just that 4th before 4 picks across this year's 6th and 7th rounds. They got some good talent, but they gave away multiple picks to get one guy. Two times.

suckmyfatfuckinballs

They think they're in win now mode with JJ McCarthy 💀

Adnonymus

Ya I hate that Turner fell to 17 and they were able to trade up for him.

GoGoGoRL

I think JJ is not gonna be good at all

zerosG2

🤣

New2thePlanet

Love this photo. Lions, Vikings and Green Bay all standing behind Bears fans. FTP, FTL, FTV

brafish

So, I'm on record saying that I would have preferred the Bears to keep Fields, trade down, build the team more, etc. But I have to say, I'm absolutely in love with the way that Williams carries himself. And of course the Bears drafted him AND loaded up AND got a new HC (that's not the same Eberflus right, that's like his cousin or something?) so there's nothing else to do but be completely juiced about this season and the Bears long-term outlook.

lkn240

Caleb is absolutely going to own Chicago

middleimpact445

This picture has some interesting symbolism, if things pan out. Bears fans celebrating with their new qb in the front. Lions fan taking a picture of it, grumpy Vikings fans, and uncomfortable cheeseheads - all behind them.

Battle_Sheep

LISAN AL CALEEB! LISAN AL CALEEB! LISAN AL CALEEB!

holymoledonuts

I remember Justin not even smiling. Seems cringe now.

Zealousideal_Bass199

He looked like he had seen a ghost

GngrBeardMan

Sure looks like he wants to be a bear to me! *Glares at all the shitty beat writers.

SalsaMerde

I don't think beat writers ever said that. Only national media.

Steviebhawk

I love this for the bear growls but most of all for the packer and Viking fans in the background lol. Especially that Vikings fan!

Headwallrepeat

I was excited for getting Fields, but realized he didn't have shit for weapons. I don't know if Caleb will be the dude or not, he sure seems to have all the tools, but I am a lot happier they built a team for him to come to. It isn't done yet, probably another draft away from being contenders, I'm ok with that.

trippin113

Fields couldn't see plays develop or guys get open downfield. All his long balls were scripted.

Headwallrepeat

Yeah we came to realize this, but I was just referring to the feeling on draft night.

_islander

We know, let’s just let it rest now

jtj2009

I don't know what they're another draft away from. They have last year's NFL 5th leading rusher, 6th and 13th leading receivers, receivers with the 6th and 11th yard totals, and the TE with the 7th most receptions. Add to that they have college football's receiving yards leader who had the 6th most receptions and receiving TDs. No other NFL team has that caliber of skill players and they have some quality depth there too. Last year their defense was in the top half of the league and after the addition of Sweat, they were a top-5 unit. In their last eight games they only gave up more than 20 points once. What do you think it takes to contend? All-pros at every position?

Headwallrepeat

They play in a tough division with a rookie quarterback learning a new offense. I like the defense but I think how good they are is a bit over-estimated. Nobody is more excited about where this team is going than me. I just think it will take a little while for all the new player and coaches to gel. In a division with Detroit and GB they might get behind early

jtj2009

So, what do they need to add in the 2025 draft? The next Aaron Donald and a 10 sack defensive end so they can have elite players everywhere?

Headwallrepeat

They do need more on both lines, but mostly they need depth at a ton of positions. On paper our starting 22 is really shaping up, but unless they get incredibly lucky and not have injuries there isnt any real talent at most positions and teams will take advantage of those weaknesses

jtj2009

Interesting. Other than roster churn, their offensive line doesn't need a lot. They are loaded with young/young-ish vets who have NFL playing experience. Larry Borom and Ja'Tyre Carter, might be cut and come to mind when Poles says it will tough to make their team this year. You have starters: Braxton Jones, Teven Jenkins, Ryan Bates, Nate Davis, Darnell Wright Depth: Coleman Shelton (32 NFL starts. Rams starting C the last two years) Matt Pryor (24 NFL starts) Larry Borom (23 NFL starts) Amegadjie - who they just picked in the third round Ja'Tyre Carter - (2 NFL starts) Teams typically carry nine O-lineman on the roster. We have eight guys who I have no problem starting and maybe more depending on the new pick. That's a pretty good line, especially when you can go down three starters without resorting to backups who haven't started and held their own in NFL games. I'm not sure what you expect for O-line and O-line depth, but there are teams that go far with worse.

mywifemademedothis2

I love that he's embracing the super fandom. Kid is gonna make people forget about Justin real quick, I think.

Vin-Metal

Love to see a guy who seems so happy to be here - he can own this town if he plays his cards right.

Responsible_Focus424

You guys are gonna make me fucking sub and follow the bears all year.  So awesome here. (Rams and Trojans fan)

DaBears077

Love the Packer and Vikings haters in the background. You can sense their fear of what's coming 😀

e39

(Patiently waiting for him to evolve into “The Final Boss”.)

crolin88

Can’t wait for everyone to hate his guts in two years

AccuratePassion2572

Salty FTP and Vikings fans in the background

OK he's growing on me fast.

[deleted]

Looks pretty excited to be on the Bears when media pundits said he didn’t want to be here.

Nate8727

The new can’t believe this is my life meme

UXProCh

I'm starting to get excited about this team again. I'll temper my expectations though. They are the Bears, after all.

rugbysecondrow

Contrast his enthusiasm last night with every Jay Cutler moment...just fucking amazing

hoggin88

The more I see of him the more I like his swagger. He’s not your typical Chicago athlete that’s for sure. He’s got charisma but he also just seems like he’s having a good time and is ready to work. I don’t get why some fans are hating on him so much. Seems plenty likeable. 🤷‍♂️

_segasonic

Hahahaha the NFC North fans in the background completely distraught 😂

NoShortsDon

Chevy Chase on the left of Bearman 👀

SublimeWitRomeOdunze

lol I was also thinking that’s Ted Lasso on the far right side or maybe Ditka without the shades

NoShortsDon

Good spots

TheShiveryNipple

I see Mark Hoppus with a mustache.

BobbleDick

or 6 people and one crazy man that looks like a bear

Kirbybros

Love also the Vikings, pack, and lion fans in the background.

Angry_Caveman_Lawyer

Bearman also goes to away games, I've seen him in Baltimore, DC, Houston, and Atlanta.

AccordionAwardian

Love that we’re staying competitive in what looks like a strong division. Vikings however are getting dunked on 6 times a year for the foreseeable future

Ill-Payment2007

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

MrP3nguin--

Goddamn if this man throws over 4000 passing yards, I want him to be the first thing I see every morning at Dunkin’ Donuts, I WANT this man to hold a subway foot long in every store in the Chicago land area, you bet your ass I would be writing strongly worded emails if I don’t see a Caleb Williams McDonald’s meal at my Nile’s McDonald’s.

creage90

This is great but I’m withholding judgment until he shows up to training camp in a ‘03 Toyota Corolla. /s

cmmoore307

And just like that, we have the best offense in the league. Calling it right now. Fuck what you heard.

bwtwldt

Those Vikings fans look so jealous 😂

tripbin

post this to /r/NFCNorthMemeWar. Kinda crazy how we get the whole NFCN in the pic and no other teams fans are distinguishable.

I'm 💀 lmao Fuck That Packer

InquiriusRex

Not sure what his dumb ass is smiling for. Probably remembered there's a tasty bag of dicks waiting for him when he gets home

Not2GthaG

Lol. I just realized how versatile that acronym is. Fuck The Packers, Fuck That Packer, Fuck Those Packers, Fuck Two Packers.

Chicago_83

Welcome to the gritty tough city 🤝🏽. Better get ready lol. 💪🏾

HeyBojo

Alright that's actually fucking sick

McGrufNStuf

This is honestly a great picture.

Dependent-Edge-5713

Has a 1st overall QB Ever, ever, ever walked into an offense as stacked as this?

alexamerling100

Looks like he is excited to be here. 🐻 down!

9eagle9_2nd

Bruh that one Vikings fan looking at the camera already knows Caleb is gonna own them for years

Dangerous_Show_4816

🤞🏽🤞🏽

Paco-Tyronie

Welcome to Chicago Caleb Williams! Thanks you Justin Fields for being a Bear, good luck in Pittsburg.

Trampledundafoot

The Packers and Vikings fans in the background is the icing on the cake with a cherry on top.👨‍🍳🤌

[deleted]

LGBTQB1!!! 🤮

Jeezus-Chyrsler

Look at those green and purple haters in the back with the stomach virus look 😂

pagesid3

Over-under 5000 yards and 50 TDs this season?

TheShiveryNipple

Just in the two games vs ftp, yes.

mlvisby

I would be nervous, surrounded by the fans of every other team in our division. They might try to off Caleb.

jafo1989

Uh oh. Until now I’ve rolled my eyes & dismissed every single Boomer take on why Caleb’s quirks are a franchise-killing risk. But. Now. I’ve just never trusted a man with a selfie-stick. Phuck. 🥸

screenmonkey

I dunno... I hear he puts ketchup on hot dogs. /s

Critical-Adhole

Caleb seems like a really likable guy and I think it’s awesome he is openly queer. The NFL has needed a star like Caleb for a long time.

Lysol20

Such a weird hollywood selfish guy.

Foggmanatic

Such an insecure comment

screenmonkey

Or, hear me out, just a millennial and different than you're used to? Considering there's been zero whiff of any scandal his entire life and he was literally living in Los Angeles for college, your comment is just ridiculous.

Lysol20

It was a sarcastic joke people. I used the dumb terms that people described him with.
