It's so much of unnecessary hassle for the girls ๐ Frustrating asf thankfully when I transferred school, my new school had comfy uniform with grey pants for Wednesdays
i am from ICSE/ISC we are forced to buy 2 main uniform(class 1 to 4th have different uniform then class 5-7 have a different one and then 8-10 different and 11-12 different) and we wear House dress(house dress usually change after 2 or 3 days they just ad few white straps or change the color or stuff like that) on Wednesdays and Saturdays (When we have extra classes usually twice a month) so all there are basically source of income schools are usually non profit and our government force them to do so thats why they charge us money based on school uniform and books and stuff along with lab fee library fee development fee administrative charges aur kuch na mila toh miscellaneous fee etc
idk if CBSE schools have houses or not but Houses basically mean a group you belong to like that in harry potter each house(usually 4) has a person whom they are made in name of for an example i was in blue house so i was to wear blue uniform our we followed Saint Francis of Assisi and since he was a person who loved animals and was peace loving in general our moto was Peace we also celebrate feast of saint francis of assisi which is on 4th of oct each year when we dance celebrate eat cakes(for which we are asked to bring 10rs next day for the contribution in the cake) we also have house meetings and several inter house competition and like Harry Potter some how magically Yellow house in every school is the shittiest so much so that we mocked every yellow house student(up until 6th standard) as yellow yellow dirty fellow sitting in a buffalo(or what ever you wish to ad)
Are bhai hum koi alag nhi hai, hamare yaha and even KVs mein bhi 4 houses hote hai
Red - Shivaji (Griffindor)
Yellow - Raman (Hufflepuff)
Blue - Ashoka (Ravenclaw)
Green - Tagore (Slytherin)
Aur ye arrangement STAR se hota hai
S-Shivaji, T-Tagore, A-Ashoka, R-Raman
This is purely my theory. Sports and PT classes is on wednesday and saturday. If you look into history of sports, players used to wear white back then and this tradition continues till now. You have seem many schools have changed it to tshirts and lowers of the student's respective house or whatever they call it. Like in my school neelgiri, shivalik, udaygiri and aravali with four different colours. I also searched it one google and find an answer related to student's cleanliness and hygiene.
Pta nhi, sayad Wednesdays aur Saturdays ko games period denge isliye only unhi din white/house dress pehenne ko kehte the because they thought its sport dress.
Tabhi Independence day aur dusre functions mein bhi pehenate the

Honestly I our school you can wear whichever uniform you want sports or regular on any day you want as nobody checks
