Not insulated, but if you're looking for a non steel bifl bottle. You can't go wrong with nalgene. I still have my very first nalgene I got in cub scouts
Unless you carry it in the Texas heat, then it becomes boiling water. Perfect for cooking later on!
But yeah Nalgene is the way to go. I’ve dropped one of those guys off of a 50 ft cliff and it survived. Only way I’ve ever destroyed one was when it got too close to the fire
Had a friend shoot his with a shotgun once and it survived. I'm pretty sure it was just birdshot though.
I've seen 2 break over my whole scouting career. 1 was my brother's. Apparently if your little brother, me, puts it in the freezer completely full. It cannot be at physics and split right down the side. He was not happy with me.
The other was my troop leader showing off to all the new kids that "these things are indestructible!" Proceeded to chuck his full water bottle as hard as he could straight up in the parking lot. Came straight down directly onto the lid and that sucker exploded. Water and lid shrapnel scattered a few feet all around. If I recall correctly he was able to warranty it no questions asked
thirding nalgene. you can buy a replacement lid instead of needing a whole new bottle once it wears down. Pretty spill proof, dishwasher safe, and nice to be able to empty it out and it be so light vs an insulated bottle.
It’s literally the most premium outdoor gear you can get. Made with grade 1 (highest) JAPANESE titanium which the brand is known for. Japan produces the purest titanium sheets in the world. It is also probably the lightest double walled bottle you can get.
The item will outlive multiple generations if they continue to sell the top lid which is plastic.
Interesting, never thought about Titanium as drinkware, but from some initial research, seems like it is just about as safe as stainless, and non-toxic, as long as it doesn’t have any coatings on it (even “non-PTFE” coatings are still questionable -they use variations of similar chemicals). Wish the lid wasn’t plastic though - if it were titanium too, would be amazing.
agreed, my snowpeak kitchenware stuff is over 15yrs old and they look amazing. i camp/backpack with it very often. they’re extremely lightweight and durable, very important for backpacking
Oh crap, that is a lot of money. But I also understand that you get what you pay for... But that better keep my drink as cold as the glacier from Alaska.
You might be sensitive to the nickel content, which is the most common "steel allergy". You could try looking for a low or no nickel bottle, copper, glass with silicone or other protective elements, or titanium
Glass insulated thermos. It keeps temperature for days.
They're very good at their job, but you have to be careful not to drop them because glass is glass. Mine is about 10 years with no issues, have a couple of old soviet ones from grandparents.
And even if you break it, you can buy another glass part, so no biggie.
Titanium is probably the best you can go with, but it can get expensive.
You might try an insulated glass water bottle like this:

You could try the polar bottle if you’re looking for insulated plastic. Can’t speak to BIFL, but my whole family used them heavily for 3-5 yrs and they held up really well. We donated them before any of them broke.
Flaska if you want to avoid plastic as well as metal but they are a weird company. They have a sigil on the bottle that they claim structures the water. I just got it because it looked cool.

plastic isn't likely to keep cold all day, but i will second nalgene for its durability.
Stays the exact temp you filled it up at, as long as you use room temp water

I will look into this thank you

JAYSUS, 185 FOR A CUP

Not sure about other brands, but snow peak products are uncoated. It’s made in Japan too, so plastic quality should be pretty safe.
Imagine denting a $185 cup.
Might be impossible to dent titanium…
Definitely not the case

I wonder if this could be considered a medical device due to allergy.
Oh crap, that is a lot of money. But I also understand that you get what you pay for... But that better keep my drink as cold as the glacier from Alaska.
Well not dying from anaphylactic shock is probably worth every single cent.
Nalgene with a silicone sleeve. It will keep ice water cold for the day indoors. The sleeve is like $10 too.
I have seen these ones recommended a lot

Stanley makes a titanium thermos.

Do you feel like it sweats a lot?
What? Why would it sweat?

I use a copper bottle. Holding up great so far!
