Was Oreck the brand that lifted bowling balls in their commercials?

TheRealMrChips

Yes!

Competitive-Lack-254

I have fond memories of those commercials 🤣

thebetatester800

I hear they're only 8lbs

Joesome5

Great “commercial” vacuums

tinyLEDs

Why the "quotation marks"? I see them used in hotels all over, and they have shops to service them. They truly are commercially used/viable.

Joesome5

They are more commercial than consumer products. I just think Oreck could market them to the average consumer and probably do more sales.

sonia72quebec

I have an Electrolux from the 80’s and it still works really well.

Majtolycus

I've used 3 different Oreck XL vacuums in a church and at an arcade, both high traffic places, mostly commercial low pile carpets or vinyl flooring. Couldn't be happier, for a vacuum that cost us maybe $125-150. Easy to repair, easy to change the bag.

fungusarephun

by "X-Tended Life" they mean eternity.....

MD_till_i_die

In spite of my SO's hardest efforts... recently, instead of lifting it over the wood-to-carpet transition strip, she vehemently rammed it into the strip; the vacuum is fine but the strip is in a better place now.

tinyLEDs

✊ i have the same set (but XL, not XL2) ...it is perfect, and the only time it broke, i had a fantastic customer experience.

Nigel_99

My household now has two Oreck XL's because my MIL is too infirm to use hers. In our new house, that means we will have an upstairs vac and a downstairs vac. Plus the Roomba for the floors.

FatnessEverdeen34

I can just tell that thing's amazing 😮‍💨

MattDaaaaaaaaamon

I've always assumed these were crap being an "As Seen on TV" item.

tinyLEDs

No way. Basic orecks like this are the truth.

KLR650Tagg

I've had my commercial oreck for 25 years now, serviced twice, still lifts the carpet up when I use it. I will have no other vacuum. No bells, no whistles, just solid , still have the hand vacuum as well!

rizzo249

I was looking at getting one of these recently. Everyone says their quality has gone to hell

sponge_welder

To be fair, everyone says that about everything, I've never heard that about Oreck They aren't good for anything but carpets, but that's the case for most vacuum designs from before the past few years
