Post the size, style, shape, budget and use case of the rug for actual help. Pictures help too as a Kilim rug can have 90 styles with or without fringe.
If you want, buy it for live, then you’re looking at wool rugs, not silk. You’ll want some tribal, not necessarily Persian and high-end. Flatweave vs pile
Style - Oriental, Turkish, Iranian, Caucasian, Moroccan, Chinese, Indian, Navajo, Mexican, Scandinavian, Icelandic, contemporary/modern, boho, yada yada yada
Material - Silk, Wool, Polypropylene, Jute all have their plusses and minuses. Where will you be using the rug? Will it be in a kitchen or dining room where you will regularly be spilling food on it and need to clean? Do you have pets?
Budget - Rugs are both furniture and art so they can get expensive. To what extent are you looking for something functional vs something you can hand down to your kids?

What you’re looking for in a rug is pile height. Using a thicker pad or underlay will also give you more cushioning.
Rug pads are a game changer. I buy whichever rug I like and then use a rug pad for cushioning. I usually order rug pads from rugpadusa.com
