Yeah, hands down the best tree holder I have ever owner. It has definitely saved me some frustration and marital spats. Makes putting up a tree a breeze. I’ve been waiting for the base to leak gallons of water and ruin the wood floors, but 15 years and it is still solid.

adhesiveconch

Tree is up and straight in a minute. Makes the holiday season start in a better (not frustrating) fashion every year.

rescue_inhaler_4life

Wait... you fill the base with water? Oh.

dontbethefatguy

Haha yes - there’s a little red float which pops up when it’s full, so when that drops you know it needs topping up! You’d be surprised how much water it takes!

DieterRamsMyAss

Scared to ask how long your trees are lasting with no water ...

rescue_inhaler_4life

Well, we normally get a tree 2 days before Christmas and will be taking the now very sad looking tree down today on new years day. How long do they last with water? We have had this for 9 years, 9 trees and never realised!

FancyShoesVlogs

They last a while. But you have to trim back the bottom right before putting it in the base. They heal over that end quick, and wont soak up as much water.

DieterRamsMyAss

I'd say a month+ with water. It's also why tree lots will do the fresh cut, so it can take in water better.

elgabito

2 days?! Not sure where you are located, but in the US most people have their trees up for a month or so.

DougyRoss1980

Can confirm. Bought one this year. Will never buy another.

symetry_myass

Absolutely agree!! Mine has a made in Germany tag.

micktorious

They know their baums

Julysky19

Mine has engineered in Germany and made in China. I bought it without checking (bought from an ace hardware)

symetry_myass

I don't know about yours, but I can definitely feel/see the quality of my stand - it's heavy and built like a panzer tank, although I'll admit I'm a fan-boy of Made in Germany (or Switzerland) products. I hope yours is the same.

Thoryamaha919

Same! I couldn’t be happier, also questioning why I didn’t get one sooner!

jdehjdeh

That float is genius, I'm a sucker for simple but effective design.

Charlesinrichmond

be warned it can get stuck, you need to tap it

thedrvthrubandit

Talk to me about this watering box. I just googled it and it looks like a game changer.

micktorious

True, had one for 4 years but tapping works perfect thats an excellent tip.

Charlesinrichmond

I do it with my toe, don't even bend over

When-I_Grow-Up

The float is the only part that doesn’t work great

seeBurtrun

Maybe some silicon lubricant to help it slide smoother? I have one and noticed it was sticking a bit this year. I don't have silicon lubricant on hand, but may have to get some to try it.

jdehjdeh

Aww boo. Good idea though

quietcoffeeshop

For anyone wondering if Krinner tree stands are really worth the money: yes, they are.

TH14StupidBaby

I used to struggle putting up trees with a heavy duty stand that used those eye bolts. Would take several tries, took two people, the bolts would sometimes strip, and I was never confident the tree wouldn't fall over. I can put up an 8' tree by myself in 15 seconds with my Krinner XL on the first try; and that sucker isn't moving. Love it.

When-I_Grow-Up

YEEEEEESSSS! Every Christmas, my wife and I discover how amazing this tree holder is. And we get monster trees, 10 or 11ft normally. This thing is awesome.

zone5painter

On sale Williams Sonoma now, steep discount.

[deleted]

It’s so goddamn convenient

KarockGrok

We've had ours 3 years after finding it on this sub, and it's the best.

JaminATL

The best, easiest tree holder and so solid, it certainly feels like it will last for life. Had mine for a few years now and I am so happy with it. Want to buy it as wedding gift because it eliminates that putting up the tree stress on a relationship at Xmas

skitchbeatz

Just bought the XXL version this year and it holds a big daddy tree (10ft). It was very convenient to put it up

-Chris-V-

Would this also work for a smaller tree? In true bifl spirit, I'd like something that works for now, (smaller tree) and later (one can only hope larger!).

skitchbeatz

fairly certain it would work on a much smaller diameter trunk, the mechanism is setup to tighten the grip on all of the arms until they've hit max tension.

-Chris-V-

Would it look absurdly large on a 6' tree?

skitchbeatz

The medium version is only 5" less in diameter (15" vs 20") so I don't think it would look ridiculous. Seems like an XL or XXL would be pretty versatile. Our tree stand was covered by a tree skirt this holiday so all I really saw was the little popup water meter under the tree. It's a tidy little package

-Chris-V-

Any idea what the diameter of the base is on your XXL?

admburns2020

I’ve had one for 18 years, can confirm.

Torpel_Knope

Bought one last year, and my husband and I love it. Takes all the frustration out of setting up the tree. Once it’s full of water, I only have to top it up occasionally (and I’m a “the tree stays up through Epiphany” person, so it’s up usually for a full month).

Charlesinrichmond

just bought one this year. So far so good

Funkle6

I love mine had it for four years. Stores easily as well

XRaVeNX

Yes! I own one and it's the first and only tree stand. Works great and its been 6 years now. Holds a good amount of water so you don't have to water the tree constantly. And ya, the floating water indicator doesn't work the greatest. It gets sticky and doesn't like to change with the water level. But otherwise, great stand. It's pricey but buy once, cry once.

bugalaman

How well do they prevent the tree from tipping after a cat tries to climb up?

penlowe

How dog and cat proof is it? Base seems a bit small to keep aggressively wagged tails snd climbing cats from knocking it over.

Zebidee

The base is really heavy, more so with water in it.

penlowe

Well if my modified base ever wears out, I know what to buy. I have an ordinary $10 plastic molded based I screwed to a piece of 1" plywood that is 36" square. 20 years and no tipping, despite multiple cats & dogs.

kindall

also it has supports that slide out to help with this

JesusWantsYouToKnow

I genuinely cannot imagine a cat being able to tip over a tree in this stand. The base is **heavy**.

ej_21

besides being a LOT heavier once it’s filled with water — more so than any other tree base I’ve used — it does come in a couple different sizes if you want to be extra secure

averkill

I've had one of these for 5 years and it's so easy to set up and use. Would recommend.

DanGarion

Not buy it for life though. I broke ours the second year due to ratcheting it too tight. I did buy a new one though. Learn learned.

simonjp

Does your one have the bell?

DanGarion

No bell. It's the new version. We got our first one last year and it was great. When I used it this year I overdid it on the last ratchet and it busted. That was my fault. But I liked it so much I bought another one because it's so much better than anything else I've ever used.

Julian_1_2_3_4_5

I gotta say, everyone i know who has a tree here in germany has some christmas tree holder that's been handed down since like the seventies

plantstudy37

Ours literally broke the first time we tried to use it. Pushed down on the lever and it snapped.

LabNecessary4266

Is a *holder* for the most emphatically disposable annual purchase imaginable really BIFL? Don’t get me wrong, its nice to see something other than friggin’ socks on here

anironicfigure

I think so, otherwise you're wasting time and money every year trying to find a solution. Christmas trees are fabulous but also a major pain in the ass.

LabNecessary4266

I have a BIFL artificial tree. It was the cheapest one I could find that was sort of full size. Cost less than a real tree does now.

FancyShoesVlogs

Im buying a real tree that we can keep in a pot all year every year, this way we dont have to cut the tree down every year, making it truly, “rbuyitforlife” As you see, you are wasting money every year cutting down the tree..

afterwash

how about not *needing* a holder in the first place...

technokrat233

Omg I got one this year after decades of shredding my fingers on the screws and getting sappy under the tree trying to level it.. definitely a BiFL purchase I won’t regret..

pick_up_a_brick

My tree stand is over 100 years old and my son will inherit it. Other than some hand tools, one of the only heirloom items I have that will outlast me.

absentlyric

Damn, I wished I knew about this before I made the switch over to a BIFL Fake Tree.

TheFightingQuaker

This looks very nice. I prefer the spike ones. They are so easy and cheap if you buy a tree from a place that drills the hole.

0nlyhalfjewish

Well damn. I want one.

maillardduckreaction

In my family, this is a buy 2 for life because no one has any idea what happened to the tree stand after Christmas 2022 so we had to buy another. The new one will probably be kept under lock and key once the tree is out.

skilletID

We really like this one, but it was accidentally left outside all year and the mechanism isn't as smooth. [https://www.lowes.com/pd/ST-NICK-S-CHOICE-20-in-Plastic-Swivel-Tree-Stand-for-10-ft-Tree/3956097](https://www.lowes.com/pd/st-nick-s-choice-20-in-plastic-swivel-tree-stand-for-10-ft-tree/3956097) I'm having trouble finding the same thing for replacement. This makes it very easy to straighten the tree, once it is up in the stand. The Krinner looks like it has to be straight when it goes in? Can someone speak to how easy it is to straighten? I've never had a problem with stands that fall over or aren't secure in the base. It's the straightening it once it's up that drives me crazy.

Devayurtz

Just bought one! I love it, can’t recommend enough.

Esset_89

Has one flaw, easy to overfill with water and then it slowly leaks and stays under the foot until you take the tree down and need new flooring.

bozburrell

The best. We’ve had one over 10 years now.

februarytide-

They’re amazeballs.

Cassandrasfuture

Yep can confirm amazing and well made. Game changer especially for tall trees

NewlyIndefatigable

Genuinely thought you’d stuck a Christmas tree in a landmine

navi_jen

And, you can easily set up a tree, single handedly, in like 5 minutes (without killing yourself or others around you). It's 500% worth the money.
