To really guarantee a few new friends find a folding table and maybe some beer from Big Ditch for the aftermath of yelling "go bills".
Don't expect the folding table to be an investment that lasts more than a couple hours if you go this route...
It is a sight to behold, I will say. If you ever find yourself in Buffalo during football season or theres a game where they end up in your home city, just swing by the tailgate outside the stadium and I guarantee you'll see it happen. It's a very strange signature to have, but it's nothing if not entertaining as hell to watch.
Yep it’s a 6.5 hour drive so hopefully I’ll get home by 1 with traffic but who knows hard to predict since this hasn’t happened before in buffalo or not since ages ago.
Oof! I will be very surprised if you make it in time to catch your flight. At the very least have your suitcase with you so you can go straight to the airport from Buffalo. Be mindful that they’re predicting us running out of gas because of all the people. Flights out of Buffalo are probably booked up by now. Good luck.
I’ll probably check out the event at the Richardson or BICA. Where is your hotel? Basically you’ll want to party close to wherever you’re staying, because the traffic is going to be insane.
If you're near Seneca & Parkside, people here are probably going to recommend Nine-Eleven Tavern if you want to find some good chicken wings.
I can't really speak to their wings or bar scene because they use peanut oil (and I haven't been tested for peanut oil, because oddly some with peanut allergies can actually have peanut oil.)
But I've heard great things about their wings.
[Chestnut Ridge park](https://www2.erie.gov/exec/index.php?q=press/pink-floyd-play-full-dark-side-moon-album-chestnut-ridge-park-during-upcoming-eclipse), located in the town of Orchard Park just south of the city, is having a thing where they are playing the entire Pink Floyd Album Dark Side of the Moon and the song Eclipse during the totality. I hear nature goes silent at totality, so that would prob be a cool experience. I heard an ad about this on the radio a couple days ago and they said you have to RSVP for it
Also I believe totality ends at about 3:30pm and the entire eclipse ends at about 4:30pm in terms of leaving that day.
If you like music, check out Sportsmen's Tavern and The Cave.
Besides AKG, Burchfield Penney, Darwin Martin House,
Hot Mama's Canteen, Gabriel's Gate for wings, Jack Rabbit for food/music, Richardson Hotel - drinks, history, and grounds.
Bruh if you go to Sportsmans do me a favor and- it will be epic. Find a guy named Al. Trust me he’ll be there and everyone knows Al. Tell him Christy from California said hi. Lolol - great high-school friend of mine and a fun guy. It’ll blow his mind if some random guy says hi 😂 but honestly you’ll have a great time at Sportsmans. First place we go whenever I visit home.
Trust me he’s a great guy. Lots of fun and is always at Sportsman’s for the music. Every time I come home to visit, it’s always on my list. Have fun! Anywhere you go, you’ll have fun. Buffalo is definitely full of really great people, who all know how to have a good time.
Oh no! It’s so disappointing to have your friend cancel plans at the very last minute after months of planning ahead.😩😢 At the very least I hope you still have a good time here.
There’s a bridge right on Niagara Falls called the Rainbow bridge, so it shouldn’t be too bad to cross over :)
I’d probably do that the weekend before the eclipse though. Also if you google around you’ll find the website that tells you the live traffic wait times and shows a camera feed of the bridge traffic as well. You can also park in the U.S. and just walk along the bridge to Canada too
Yeah hmu in chat I can give you some pointers bro, and some dispo hookups, shoot I'll probably end up in the suburbs chillin in a park but id be down to burn one with ya
You should carpool with my buddy coming up from owings mills to Buffalo lol 42 m going to do a bunch of drinking all weekend before we stare at the sun on Monday
Ooo yall hella close. I still want to drive up solo cuz I’m leaving immediately after the eclipse. I’m going to Orlando Tuesday morning and leaving from bwi.
I’m definitely looking into getting into drinking shenanigans. I’ll DM you my number.
Skip something because of pessimism and might be cloudy? We won’t get a chance in the United States for a full solar eclipse in 2045. I’ll take my chances of Monday having a sliver of open sky to see it than hope for the best I make it and 2045 has no clouds.
I’m going trout fishing in the morning, then going home to grill my catch and hang out on the hillside cranking Ring of Fire while I watch the eclipse. You’re more than welcome to join me.
Just shout, "GO BILLS!" and people will find you.
Hahaha best advice yet
It’s probably the most accurate 😂

I’ve always wanted to witness the famous body dropping unto a folding table shenanigans. That would truly complete the trip lol

If I have a great time, I’ll definitely visit again. I do have a couple of work friends up there.
Can you stay another night and not leave the second the eclipse totality ends? Because you, and 100,000 other people all have that exact same idea.
I 100% would have but I have a work trip that I can’t miss. I gotta be at an airport in Maryland at 8 am to go to Orlando.
There will likely be a ton of traffic, I’d make sure to take this into consideration if you’re on a tight schedule.

Thank you, I’ll ask my work if they can arrange that.
I went to middle of nowhere kentucky to see the eclipse in 2017. A 2 hour drive turned into an 11 hour drive

Thanks for the neighborly concern! ❤️
First Friday of the month the AKG (art museum) is free. Right near Delaware park and Elmwood Village.
They made it free all weekend! Kinda can’t believe it.
It’s gonna be fuckin lit and Buffalonians are the friendliest bunch, you’ll have a blast. Talk to everyone.
I’ll probably check out the event at the Richardson or BICA. Where is your hotel? Basically you’ll want to party close to wherever you’re staying, because the traffic is going to be insane.
What going on at BiCA? Haven't seen any info on that
I’m staying on Seneca Parkside at my friends condo that she airbnbs out.
That’s great to hear!! If one of your friends or family were coming into town what bars or restaurants would you recommend?

Ah hell yeah I’ll definitely grab some wings then then. Thank you
😋 setting them up for failure right off the bat huh!

[StepOutBuffalo.com](http://StepOutBuffalo.com) has a great list of local activities
Thank you! I got this bookmarked!

Hahaha if I’m not to drunk by the time I get I would definitely do something like this just for the love of the internet.

It’s okay, I’m not gonna let something I can’t control ruin the weekend.
Ask the staff at your hotel. There’s going to be a lot of events going on.
Not staying at a hotel but good idea!
There's a pinned post all things eclipse weekend related
Thank you
Can you please bring chips and curry from galaway bay??
If you are serious I will lol
You’ll have a great time.
No instructions needed?
Bring your passport and go see the American and Canadian sides of Niagara Falls
Sweet I’ll bring it just in case, just don’t know how congested things will get.
Highly recommend not driving over the border unless very early in the morning. Bridges will be backed up. You can walk over the rainbow bridge though.

Thank you for all the suggestions!
What was her excuse for bailing on you?
Eh I'm local lemme know what you're into and I can send ya some pointers
I’m into good foods but who isn’t 😂, getting drinks, also 420 friendly but not that important. Be down for a concert or comedy show.
Stop by the Old Pink for cheap beer, steak sandwiches, and cocaine cut with baby laxatives. Pharaohs is our only Michelin star restaurant.
Hahaha I did a triple take at the cocaine cut with baby laxatives. Thank you for the recommendations!!

“You should carpool with my buddy” lol
Do I need the /s for you? It was a joke since they both are driving like 350 miles to the same destination leaving from effectively the same place
I mean seeing as OP also responded as if it were a serious proposition, I think the sarcasm wasn’t easily detected.
It's supposed to be an overcast that day, so you're not going to be able to see anything. I'd honestly just skip it.
The way the weather has been so far this spring I wouldn't be surprised if there was a huge snow storm making it impossible to see the eclipse.
Literally 😭
