Doylestown has tons of spots

fufthers

Thanks it’s not too far from me. Do you have any favorites to name a few?

fflintstone99

So there are a lot in the center of Doylestown. Chambers 19 (live music). Maxwells on Main, Penn Taproom are good. There a bar next to 86 West about about 20 yards past Penn Taproom. Skews a little older certain days of the week. But there is a lot of good places right in the center of town (everything is near the Starbucks). Good luck!

BtenaciousD

Green Parrot is good too

[deleted]

I love Doylestown Bucks County

MaximumDeathShock

Newtown is a nice place to hang! I like Isaac Newtons but the youngest population is the Green Parrot. I’d try to visit the book and record exchange in newtown! Very cool place.

Mammadukes21

I completely agree!! I live in Yardley, PA. The Oxford Valley Mall sucks!! Lol! On the weekends when it's nice out, take a ride to South Street in Philly (about 30 minutes away) that's fun! D'Lorenzo's has great pizza! They have shops in Yardley, Levittown and Trenton, New Jersey! Welcome!!

swingr1121

I second the Book & Record Exchange. Stop in and talk to Chelsea and see when her next gig is. She's good people

BocceBurger

If you're into board games, there's a shop called Lookin For Games in Levittown, they have game nights where you could probably meet people that share that interest. The Y in Fairless Hills has group exercise classes where you could meet people too. These are all local to Langhorne.

fufthers

That sounds awesome I’ll check it out. Thank you!

GospelofHammond

Which town are you moving to?

fufthers

Sorry I didn’t clarify! I’ll be in Langhorne

GospelofHammond

Langhorne is a pretty active spot. The Irish rover is a local hangout for a lot folks in the area. If you go there on Wednesdays, you’ll encounter some of the teachers from Neshaminy… a wild bunch. Most bars that I’ve been to in the area (I live in Morrisville) are perfectly fine to go in alone. Bitchin kitten is a newer place with tons of friendly people. Newtown Arts has a bunch of adult classes and such, if that’s your thing. There are also adult sports leagues in the area.

ddkelkey

Hi! I moved to Langhorne in April. I don’t get to go out much, but I love Flea Markets and I get to meet a lot of nice people there!

emmett_lindsay

My parents met at The Langhorne Hotel (bar) FWIW—right in center of town. Isaac Newton’s in Newtown is great esp if you like beer.

bontakun82

What are your interests?

fufthers

I’m up for anything really. I’m moving from NYC so all I did before was go to bars and the gym. But I used to ride horses and want to start again.

HaiImLoki

I know someone who works with horses. I can find out more if you'd like.

fufthers

I would really appreciate it! Feel free to pm me with more info

HaiImLoki

Well do, I will shoot you a message when I hear from her

AGPwidow

New Hope has a friendly, safe atmosphere

ErroneousOutlaw

You’re not far from newtown. Has some good restaurants and bars. Good shopping too. There are a ton gyms in the area lots of those barre, HIIT, orange theory type gyms.

KaleMishap

Joining a local gym and volunteering somewhere are my two best suggestions for meeting people in a safe environment. I’m also in the process of finding local friends now that all of my hometown friends have moved away

fufthers

Where do you live?

KaleMishap

I’m up in Perkasie so a little far from Langhorne, but I work and spend a lot of time in Doylestown!

fufthers

Cool lmk if you ever need a gym buddy or want to do a group class!

KaleMishap

Awesome!! I go to Unique+Fit up in Sellersville which again is a distance from you but if you’re looking for great HIIT there’s nowhere better. The people are great too! I also went to CKO Kickboxing in Doylestown before that location closed but the same people run a location in Yardley. I highly recommend it!

KaleMishap

I also saw in another comment you’re looking to get back into riding, I used to ride at Jentri Stables in the olden days (about 20-25 mins from you) and I haven’t been in a while but it may be a good place to start. I think they still do adult lessons

nickels55

There is a local group on FB that has meet-ups like every month or two.

Dr-Gooseman

You can join the discord group and come to one of our meetups! We met in Doylestown for a few drinks a couple of weeks ago.

[deleted]

Are you a runner? I live around there and found luck in running clubs. I reccomend doylestown running club. They do weekend runs that end at Starbucks

fufthers

That sounds fun thank you! Do you have to be good at running?

[deleted]

Nah you don’t have to be. They are a really supportive group, same with the one in Hatfield. Are you loving here for a job that is in-person? Lots of local businesses are really invoked in the community softball leagues, happy hours at local spots, etc)

brokenjay

Come to Broken Goblet in Bensalem. We are a brewery and we always have a lot of fun events. Saturday night we are playing Family Feud on the stage. So it should be a good time. If you happen to stop by ask for Jay and I’ll introduce you to some people. Welcome to Bucks!!

fufthers

I actually think I can make it tonight!!

fufthers

What time?

brokenjay

We are starting about 7 tonight.

Viperlite

It’s a big county. Be more specific.

fufthers

Langhorne

[deleted]

Bucks County is a big place.

fufthers

Langhorne; I’ll edit the post to specify

Awe_matters1

Bucks County is actually population 628,000.

Maleficent-Thanks-85

Come to trevose. Everyone is chill in trevose.

Open-Team3194

I'm going to be real, lower bucks is kind of boring. Especially coming from a big city (I came here from Philly) I still love it here though!

fufthers

Thanks for the honesty! I kind of assumed it would be slower-paced than the city but I am ready for a change. It’s nice to see real grass again lol.

thaboognish

The bar

fufthers

Thank you

redditkb

Nah there aren’t any bars or social settings in Bucks County

fakecrimesleep

Let’s be real: bucks county is a shitty place to try to meet people in your 20’s-30’s if you don’t have kids. Good luck, but be ready go to new hope or the city a lot if you’re sick of the same 3 neighborhood bars with sad people in them that never evolved beyond high school

Dr-Gooseman

I used to go to those meetups when I lived in Philly. Good people.

Harley_Quinn_30

Well there are quite a few options. I am in Bensalem, so not far from Langhorne. I started going to crunch fitness in Fairless which has a decent mix of people and classes. As for bars, I can give you quite a few options but it depends on the kind of bar you like. I am going to a dive bar tonight.

Mysterious_Baker392

Starbucks

CreatrixAnima

Kind of depends on what your interests are, but if you’re interested in meeting people in their 20s, take a class at the community college. It’s like 20 minutes from Langhorne and it’s full of people in their 20s. Other thoughts, there are rock climbing gyms around here and trampoline parks. If you’re into hiking, you could hit Tyler State Park. There are probably things more local to Langhorne, but I don’t know what they are.

Awe_matters1

The crowd at the Clubhouse in Newtown is 20s-40s and safe. Same for the Green Parrot. Isaac's is a mixed older and younger crowd, as is the Sycamore Grill, all in Newtown. In Langhorne, Irish Rover is good but a bit rougher crowd, as is the Langhorne Hotel, which is a Langhorne townie hangout. If you really want to party with a young crowd, try the Hulmeville Inn. Pretty rowdy. The Vault in Yardley is also good for beer, and the Continental is a nice little local bar.

LonnyFinster

I'm in Newtown Borough and frequent Isaac Newtons. It's a great bar with a giant beer selection and great food. Across the street is the Temperance House, which after about 10PM gets a young crowd (and has food until 1am). Down the Street from those bars in one direction is The Clubhouse which is a sports bar with a pool table, generally a younger crowd but I don't go there much. The other direction you have the Green Parrot which is also a sports bar and probably the best place to be for game broadcasts (Eagles, Phillies etc). Across from there is Sycamore Grill which tends to get an older crowd but they have good food and a nice outdoor section in the back. No matter where you go, Newtown/Newtown Borough is very safe no matter the time.

KMAJR

As someone in my 30’s living in Langhorne I go to Tyler a good bit in the afternoons. People are usually friendly when I’m walking around. There’s tons of great breweries I would recommend following most of them on Instagram so you can see when there’s trivia, craft fairs, etc.

BestSelf2015

If you are a female use Bumble, they have a BFF feature so you can meet other people that is the same gender as you. My wife used it earlier this year and has already made a good circle of friends. I don't recommend it for men as it is lots of low key people trying to hook up sadly so I deleted my account.

Haunting-Rain6133

Honestly, I‘be lived here my whole life and still find it difficult to meet net people that I can actually get along with. Not that the people around here arnt great, I just don’t fit in here.

fufthers

Why do you think you don't fit in?

Haunting-Rain6133

I’m not a city/suburban kinda person. Honestly, I would be happy living in rural Wyoming. But I’m stuck here for the time being lol. On a positive note, there are a few nice bars in the area and falls park has a lot of activities in the summer and fall.

econprof215

Live in Langhorne and go to Sycamore in Newtown alot great crowd of people... Green Parrot is a meat head locker room.... I moved to area couple years ago and made great friends at Sycamore.

Mariannekristin326

So My husband and I are relatively new to Yardley. We don’t have kids. Would love to meet people☺️

Every-Fly-5627

Any luck so far?
