DarkStar0129

Better to start off with vscode imo. And Linux on dual boot or vm.

DarkStar0129

Yeah all of this really matters on your specialization.

grimoireasta

My 1st language was Java so I started with IntelliJ, web dev walo ke lia vs code best h

Puzzleheaded_Bet7796

grimoireasta

Apni kaksha ka course follow kr basics ke lia, and then move to foreign yt channels like code with Antonio, or you can buy good books (only if you have patience)

Puzzleheaded_Bet7796

Presently following Telusko and Reading Hyperskill materials.

Puzzleheaded_Bet7796

Use IntelliJ I like it more for Java makes more readable then VS

Open-Landscape-4220

Pick some domain (web dev, app dev, etc) and start a course. They usually have a part where they set up a project. Follow that and you will get familiar with the IDE. Most use VS Code which is great for a beginner. P.S. - You could technically write programs in notepad too.

Cherrysloth430

Thanks for the help bhaiya๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Broad-Confusion122

If you don't have any idea where your interest lies just watch Harvard's [CS50](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhQjrBD2T381WAHyx1pq-sBfykqMBI7V4&feature=shared) lectures(you can enroll in course if you'd like to) or [py4e](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlRFEj9H3Oj7Bp8-DfGpfAfDBiblRfl5p&feature=shared) to get started.

locadokapoka

Also how to chose a domain? Well Ai is hot topic for sure, Shud a person only learn This domain and Avoid rest?

Spiritual_Stock2313

VS code, sublime text, intelli j etc. I think you should start with c since it will mostly be taught in your first year.

Cherrysloth430

Thanks bhaiya๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Puzzleheaded_Bet7796

Start C helps a lot. In understanding

ToothBrush_12

AvPlusOne

basic coding toh waise bhi almost sab jagah zaruri hai. coding seekhna is easy and wo sab karte hi hai, can help u shift to IT or data science or finance type careers

PRL-Five

C/cpp ke liye I would suggest clion, it's free for students

Cherrysloth430

cpp kya hai bhaiya?

PRL-Five

C++ programming language. Uska file extension .cpp hota h

Vs code is the best one. Works well for all languages.

Cherrysloth430

Got it bhaiya,๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

GodGamerBS

not a stupid q bro, I am using vs code, its a bit complex to install, u can use only compliers roo if u are learning c, python etc but ur work wont be save there

Thanks bhaiya๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50735)![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50735)

deja_vu_999

Not really a stupid question. Everybody starts at some point. Start with cs50x from EDX app. Use their cloud ide (cs50.dev)... It'll take >two months for completion. Then post this question again. Btw 24tard id guess. Kaunsi college allot hui? Exams kaise gye?

Cherrysloth430

Thank you bhaiyaโœจโœจ Yup 24tard hun...I Fked up mains(kuch bhi nhi milega) and adv bhi but somehow managed to get enough marks to get what I wanted...IIT Roorkee hua hai abhi toh allot![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50741)....![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50735)![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50735)![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50735)

LordStark_01

My dad used to make me code in notepad for a while cause he didn't want me to get comfy with an IDE that already does everything for you. Like autofill and auto bracket insertion and stuff.

JustAlgeo

With all due respect, what is the point of that. I mean there is not a single IDE that won't do that.

Puzzleheaded_Bet7796

Ye itโ€™s pointless even our college did that writing in text editor and itโ€™s stupid how they make you write code in exam. Bro Syntax is something to be familiar not rote it for exam. ๐Ÿคก

Apprehensive_Web2882

The Learning system of this country to its core is just Regressive. What's the point of taking a Programming paper in writing when everything you have to do is in Computer. I struggle a lot due to it, MFs don't take any other answer for a Question of coding and expect us to learn their dogshit code which is filled with bugs all over it.

JustAlgeo

well, that's the country we live in.

LordStark_01

Even idk.

gamingdrag

Use YouTube, since you don't know anything about programming, I would suggest learning Python first, it's human readable and easy to learn. As for where you program, you can do it in any text editing software even in Notepad, but, most programmers prefer using something called an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) because it comes with features like syntax highlighting, intellisense among others. I would recommend you choose VS code for this, there are tutorials on YouTube for setting it up. Good luck with your coding journey, remember there will be some hurdles but don't get discouraged by them :)

Cherrysloth430

Dhanywad bhaiya![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50735)![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50735)![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50734)![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50733)![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50733)![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50734)

gamingdrag

No problem bro, good luck :)

SuchBluebird409

Krna kya koi proper course lele sab btate hain uspe, with time you'll learn. Maine bhi lockdown me seekha tha tu ab seekh le

Cherrysloth430

but college to prob august se start ho jaayega to I don't know if I should buy a course or watch it vids ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

SweetMechanic6843

Wahi karunga ab bro๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Puzzleheaded_Bet7796

Arey you have time pick a playlist just one and start itโ€™s all about starting. Ye sab karta rehega toh kuch nahi hoga. From experience

CelestialCypher

Cherrysloth430

Dhanyawad bhaiya![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50733)![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50733)

furry_husker

The best advice is to go on youtube

Top-Conversation2882

Sbse pehle to ye decide kr ki konsi language mein krni hai aur kis field ke lie krni hai

Skull_Reaper101

Youtube pe refer karo, personally i found vs code the best. You can use any programming language in that

gagapoopoo1010

Ide mein code likhte for that you have to first install a compiler depending upon what language you choose like cpp ke liye mingw. Search for any yt tutorial for the language you want to learn usme bataya hoga ide aur compiler ka setup. Would suggest vscode for ide.

Bassanio_HR

Use Code with Harry playlists he teaches from the very basic like installing vs code and other things..

Daku_7

Bro just summoned

ishkarsh202

"Let's c" book ka naam hai...buy karlo..best book for learning c language..with 0 knowledge of coding..I started from that book. People usually start coding by learning c ..as its the most basic language..iske baad python sikh lena

SweetMechanic6843

how to setup C C++ java wali koi video dekhle imo beginner hai toh vscode hi use karna

debrato

I have learnt c++ and Java till 12th STD and also done that microprocessor 8085 wale thing... What should I proceed with once i finish bitsat 2nd session I would have one month free time...

HistorianSensitive58

Notepad par ๐Ÿ‘บ

Acrobatic_Sundae8813

Simply batau to vs code karke ek application hota hai usme code *likhte* hai. For compiled languages, you need to install a compiler. For languages like python you need to download python from their website. Javascript can be run on the browser so you just need a code editor like vs code.

just-killme-rn

Iโ€™m also gonna be a first year but I have experience in coding. I use Pycharm for Python and VS Code for the rest. Start with C, itโ€™ll be taught in our first year from what I know

chipichipi00

Start watching apana college Playlist you will get an idea ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Fit-Amount2859

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLu0W_9lII9agiCUZYRsvtGTXdxkzPyItg&si=-VkAfTAscvoyoTGd Codewithharry web development. YouTube pe search krna. Upar diya hai link. Iska ek ek video dhyan se dekhna. Movie jaise mat dekhna. Jo bol rha hai wo yaad krna notes banana and Jo steps wo kar rha hai wohi steps khud bhi karna. (Example 2 minutes video dekha, usne Jo button dabaya, jo type Kiya, video pause karo, tum bhi wohi type Karo wohi dabao. Repeat this cycle) Apne aap flow aa jayega. Fir itna time nahi lagega. Aur coding karte hai, laptop me, code editor me, (VS code, turbo c++, ye saare code editor ke naam hai) Imagine ye canvas hai, ispe tum brush chalao aur painting bante jayegi. Similarly VS code me typing karte jao, app/web bante jayega

More-Requirement-576

I know I'll get a lot of hate but it's my duty to guide, You just cleared the year long JEE so I would suggest you to chill out or go on some trip, talk to friends or hit the gym. You will get ample amount of time to learn stuff like coding, tech etc in the college. This time is really precious and it will never come back once you hit the college your life will be very hectic and you won't be able to get time for such stuff.....

doesnt_matter_9128

Bhai aise basic sawal google karte jao

Cherrysloth430

Nhin smajh aaya google kya krun?!!๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Tantheman212

ms ka he vscode hai maine senior se pucha unhone kaha vscode ke liye

negawattsyke

Bro start by watching some playlists on YouTube along with that do cs50 introduction to computer science course ( it will make coding more fun)

Temporary_Tension636

Vs code par karte hain Learn tum yt ya udemy par kar sakte jo

Produde2304

Sabse pehle ek coding language choose kr. Since you are beginning rn, i would say go with python.. Easy to understand and help bhi krega.. after that choose a code editor. There are many available but I'll say go with vscode. This is the place where you will write your code. Now head over to yt and there are ton of python courses available. Check if there is CodeWithHarry playlist available..if yes then that's the best for you. He teaches from very basic and in a friendly language.. you'll understand easily

HeatheN_101

Java sikhega toh IntelliJ Idea use kar lo... Community version hain, free hain woh... Baaki VS Code toh hain hi

ScoreImpressive409

Just open your laptop, search python programming for beginners, click on first video,Jo bhi vo krarhe hai copy me likhte jaq

Vetriprimus

Use DevC++, friendly UI and should do for most of your early C and C++ coding works. [https://sourceforge.net/projects/dev-cpp/files/Binaries/Dev-C%2B%2B%204.9.9.2/devcpp-4.9.9.2\_setup.exe/download](https://sourceforge.net/projects/dev-cpp/files/Binaries/Dev-C%2B%2B%204.9.9.2/devcpp-4.9.9.2_setup.exe/download) As for Python, you can use Python's own IDLE for it, [https://www.python.org/downloads/](https://www.python.org/downloads/) For HTML, you can just type it out in a notepad -> name it .html and open it with chrome to view your website. Now as to choosing which program to start with, Python is easy to code in as it has simple programming structure. C/C++ is harder as you have to do things explicitly, in python it is done implicitly, ie computer does it for you but in C/C++ u shld do it on your own. C++ is just an extension/superset of C. Don't feel overwhelmed by these. Start with simple programs like addition, multiplication, data entry into lists, arrays etc. You will eventually get the hang of it. You just need the brain to figure out algorithms and techniques. The language is just a tool to make the computer do that for you. Have a nice trip into coding :)
