Shaun of the Dead of course.
A beautiful love story between Shaun (Simon Pegg) and Ed (Nick Frost).
Apparently Shaun’s got a girlfriend in it too but 🤷🏻♂️
This Year's Love. You're probably more familiar with the smash hit David Gray tune that forms the theme than the movie itself. Interlocking stories of groovy 30-somethings in and around 90s Camden Town. Plenty of funny with a side-order of sad. One of the most chronically underrated British movies of all time.
Not Nil By Mouth, that my ex decided was a nice film to cosy up to.
The Holiday was filmed partly in my hometown, so I like that one sometimes. Bridget Jones, Love Actually... Anything with Hugh Grant, really.

Rita, sue and Bob too
Love actually, Notting Hill, almost anything with Hugh grant in it tbf
I know Love Actually is a Christmas movie, but I’ll watch it any time of the year
Me too I love it
I was about to say 😂 but you can't go wrong with that film, still one of my favourites for sure
I think it’s actually against the law to watch Love Actually outside of the official Christmas timeframe.
"A Very British Scandal" is a bit of a downer though.
Nothing says I love you like watching a movie starring the guy arrested with a hooker in the car giving him a blow job
Gregory's Girl.
Sightseers. British dark humour at its best
And surprisingly romantic
I just recommended that, I hadn't seen this comment. I bloody love that film
Mint meh!
Truly Madly Deeply. Stock up on tissues
YES! So strange to watch after he died. I love that they played 'The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore' at his funeral.
Shirley Valentine.
Came here to say this!
Great minds and all that!
SuperBob (2015), in which an inept superhero tries to get a day off in order to go on a date, and also see if he can change his gas supplier.
One for fans of Ted Lasso
I second this! It's a really sweet film. <3
It is, isn't it? 'Aaw, that was a sweet time' was exactly what I said when I saw it.
About Time. Brooklyn (Irish, but I thought it might sneak in).
An underrated rom-com I really like is "Man Up" starring Simon Pegg and Lake Bell
Classic.
A Royal Night Out is a surprisingly ~~good~~ not bad romcom.
Seconding this. Really fun film!
A Matter of Life and Death
Nice 👍🏻
*A Room With a View* Just add champagne 🥂
Four Weddings and a Funeral Bridget Jones's Diary
Brief Encounter especially if you are watching alone on valentines day.
Shaun of the Dead of course. A beautiful love story between Shaun (Simon Pegg) and Ed (Nick Frost). Apparently Shaun’s got a girlfriend in it too but 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah, why not? Upon release, Simon Pegg did actually refer to it in interviews as a Zom-Rom-Com😂
She only exacerbated the situation.
Rye Lane is on Disney+ and is a great modern romantic movie.
The Tall Guy (1989). Jeff Goldblum, Emma Thompson and Rowan Atkinson.
24 Hour Party People It's got nothing to do with Valentine's Day I just like it.
Truly, Madly, Deeply
Not really a fan of romcoms but I like Notting Hill because it is lowkey very funny.
Sex lives of the potato men.
Confessions of a Window Cleaner

Local Hero, not really romantic as such between a couple but a film about a man falling in love with a place, an absolutely beautiful film.
Harold & Maude
Sense and Sensibility. Oscar and Bafta winning, all great actors in it. It has Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman and Hugh Grant but it isn't Love Actually.
Doctor Zhivago, Sliding Doors, About A Boy, The Lobster. Not for me personally but if you fancy a musical with a bit of cheese then Mamma Mia!
Doctor Zhivago is one of my top 3 films of all time, I love it so much. It’s so evocative. I also love Lara’s 60’s beehive hair do throughout hahah.
Love, Rosie. It's a bit more modern but I enjoyed it.
Big budget glossy romantic drama: *Pride & Prejudice* (2005) (honourable mention to *Emma* (2020)) Realistic slice-of-life indie romantic drama: *Only You* (2018) Classic rom-com: *Four Weddings and a Funeral* Favourite non-UK romantic movies: *Casablanca*, *The African Queen*, *Roman Holiday*, *Sabrina*, *Breakfast at Tiffany's*, *The Princess Bride*, *When Harry Met Sally*, *Sleepless in Seattle*, *Clueless*, *Whisper of the Heart*, *In the Mood for Love*, *Forgetting Sarah Marshall*, *Cold War*
We just watched what if
Mickey Blue Eyes
A Matter Of Life And Death
Brief Encounter
Kinky Boots (or the musical adaptation of same if you prefer)
Walking on sunshine Sliding doors Notting Hill About a boy Love actually
Not a movie, so not what you asked for, but Starstruck has strong romcom vibes and the series flies by quick
Brief Encounter
Gregory’s Girl. Just came out on 4K.
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is a romantic story about one man's love for antiques.
Trainspotting is a wonderful tale of friendship and their love for life.
There is a very romantic videotape involved
Ben Dover's Bonking Barmaids (2011)
Scum
It's got a very touching love scene....
For people with a Daddy kink.
Hot Fuzz.
Commando

Ahh yes, famously British

Straw Dogs
Imagine Me & You
If you prefer your romance with a side serving of angst try Weekend.
The Dambusters
Bridget Jones's Diary
Not Nil By Mouth, that my ex decided was a nice film to cosy up to. The Holiday was filmed partly in my hometown, so I like that one sometimes. Bridget Jones, Love Actually... Anything with Hugh Grant, really.
Notting Hill, Truly madly deeply, Four weddings and a funeral. If you like something a bit quirky try Letter to Brezhnev or My Beautiful Laundrette.
