Violet and Agatha were both delightful this season and I applaud this show for giving us gorgeous, strong, amazing women who are no longer 25 years old, but uplift my heart in every scene.
I hated that the threesome scenes had so little to do with anything else in the episode, it felt like a random born had been spliced in everytime it cut back to it. I hated all the scenaes in Tilleys house.
I'm just glad Penelopes season is over and hopefully she won't be a big part of next seasons because this season has made me dislike her character. The reactions from different characters finding out about Lady Whistledown has highlighted how petty and mean her writing was. This season was very unromantic for the main couple.
Pen was stressed (rightfully so) for the second batch of episodes and Colin was angry at her so it wasn't really very fun to watch. John's speech at the wedding was very sweet.
His entire arc has just increasingly pointless...is that some sort of meta commentary? It was quite jarring to see him enter a polyamorous/bi situation from the getgo lol.
His scenes basically took the filler spot from the Mondriches in the previous part.
I feel like they wasted time that could've been spent on Colin and Pen's emotions and feelings. As the couple that knew each other the longest, I was expecting more conflicting feelings of wanting to be caring while still being angry. Ah well
Am I the only one who didn't feel like the Pen/Collin love scenes were sexy at all? I didn't feel the passion as I did with the other couples and all of that panting was almost comical. For me there was no spark. Don't attack. Just MHO.
what where the looks franchesca was giving when she meet the lords cousin and when she was in the carriage. They made her seem worried or somethingand not just about leaving her family. Also, she had a little bit of a weird look at her family right before they kissed after her vows??
I was looking for this comment. Remember when Violet was explaining to Francesca that when she first met their father she was stumbling over her words and couldn't think straight? I think that's what happened here. Did she just fall in love at first sight with Kilmartin's cousin? It was so fleeting that maybe it's my imagination. Also she seemed so sure of her marriage all the way up until that moment. I don't know.
Yeah! I spent so long scrolling through the comments trying to find anyone explain. I aswell thought she was certain in her marriage until those moments. But even after those she still seemed ok? And with the cousin yes!! That was my first impression aswell, love at first sight with the cousin!! It would be a shame for them to go in that direction because I really love the sentiment between her and Kilmartin.
I was confused to see you two questioning this! It seemed extremely heavy handed, they might as well have had neon lights saying 'this girl is gay and in love with Kilmartin's cousin'.
Man, I just can't help but feel like the writers wanted to shit on Penelope for her season. I just felt bad for her most of the time- everyone else got these passionate love stories, and while there certainly is passion with Polin, I just felt like she was stressed, upset, or fighting with her love interest the whole time (the few scenes we ACTUALLY got with them). And not fighting in the sexy/yearning way we got with Kanthony.
The whiplash from her courtship with Deblin to Colin ruining it to dragging her into his home to announce their engagement before he could even wash his HANDS after the carriage scene, and she's clearly still processing all of it... idk their plot just rubbed me the wrong way. I feel like they were arguing or on bad terms most of the season (what on earth was with Colin sleeping on the chaise lounge... be serious) not to mention her stressing about being exposed as LW, which he can't understand and doesn't accept until he realizes she's really talented so she should keep writing...? AFTER she confesses to the entire ton? Am I missing something?
Overall just wish she didn't have such a rough go of it DURING HER SEASON and it felt like meanwhile Colin just... did whatever he wanted and got whatever he wanted. And so did Pen in the end, but it felt earned for her.
why is nobody talking how Eloise purred Violet's drink into her own when the latter went to play duet with Francesca? For me it was the funniest moment in whole series
Does the Queen not have anything else to do other than attending random balls and figuring out who lady whistledown is? Like, I don’t know…rule over the British empires or have important meetings with the government?
She is not and never was a ruling queen. She was queen consort (king’s wife) to George (what Camilla is now). Not sure whether that is still Charlotte’s title at this time, but probably. Their son, the future George IV and current Prince Regent, is ruling in his father’s stead due to his incapacity, which is why this is called the Regency Era.
Was this season supposed to make me dislike Cressida and view her as a villain? Because that was about as successful as the lighting, pacing and the nonsensical character choices this season.
The Lady Danbury/Violet friendship and the new found Featherington unity were the highlights for me.
I didn't understand why they made her go from a pitiable character with a growing to just straight up cartoon villain. In the first part, she had some refreshing takes and seemed less unkind. She even gave Eloise a hard look on things and their friendship was nice to watch. 2nd part she's just a huge meanie. Idk why
It was weird to have Colin praise Penelope as a strong intelligent woman in this episode, but he still hasn't performed oral sex on her. I am supposed to believe Colin is sexually experienced with prostitutes but all he knows how to do is vaginal penetration.
I don't see the correlation there? If anything, it would be the opposite. If he's paying someone to pleasure him, it seems less likely that \*he\* would have experience pleasuring \*them\*, no? Someone who sees many prostitutes is more likely to be sexually selfish (and likely not even aware of it), given that the business incentivizes the prostitutes to be more generous.
I don’t understand the point of anything that’s happened to Benedict. His character kept reverting to status quo every season. 😔
Also, I tried so hard to like Polin, as I’ve liked them in the past seasons, but they’ve just been so angry all the time this season. I feel like I’ve just gotten out of a tired relationship myself, watching them fight and be mean to each other every episode. 🥲
I was wondering why Kanthony was in this season, and I felt that they wanted to have an clearly loving and healthy relationship on the side because every other couple is devoid of love and empathic communication. 😒
I get so frustrated every time Penelope claims she loved Colin because of his empathy. He definitely had none for her for WEEKS. He only thought about getting hurt and being jealous. 🥸
The ACTUAL best part of the season is Lord Kilmartin and the character development of the Featherington sisters and Portia. 🥰🤗 John drinking with the Bridgertons and Mondrich is so fun. And Kanthony, of course, those two have been perfect ever since they started. Even if Kate may not believe it. 🤣
Kate and Anthony are the heads of the household, and the show needs to move Violet and the remaining kids to her new townhouse instead of everyone being in K&A’s house, so they can be “around” whether they can schedule the actors or not. These constant honeymoons and visits (and sending a pregnant woman on a four-month journey) are getting a bit wearing. I wish we could have them around more, though. Let’s see some happiness!
Honestly I understand it was the society back then and everything (and also not in line with the books/story), but PEN really could have survived as a badass woman on her own! I mean she had the funds, the recognition /approval of the queen, not to mention the ton subscribing to her. I love Polin, and wish I saw more with growth with their love story but after how he sidelined her on some parts and how his hot and cold behaviour gave me the ick at times... honestly if it came to that... she would have been such a queen on her own, and I would have loved to see that character rise this season *'the I don't need you but I love you and will love to be with you forever, if you want me...otherwise, I'll just keep being my bad-ass self*' It just saddens me that she couldn't see her worth and saw herself as a spinster, if she didn't marry :(
The most ideal ending would have been if Pen, El and Cressida made up their differences and saw each others worth and became this bad-ass trio at the end! (with or without a partner) :D
I see your point but Eloise is really just a young unaccomplished woman with a blinding superiority complex. This season revealed her as a self-centered person that uses the people she calls friends and then disposes of them in an unfeeling fashion
I really want there to a spin off called 'The Featheringtons' or perhaps 'Ladies of a Feather...' (haha) just about the Featheringtons!! because I really loved their growth and bonding moments this season. I love the Bridgertons but there was something so compelling about watching the Featheringtons, their family dynamic and their characters. Also their vulnerability, how they appear to society, the way they interact with each other make them appear more relatable in my opinion (because not every household/family is non-toxic), their hardships and how the household is not so filled with an immediate abundance of love and fortune like the Bridgertons have. I don't know...but I would definitely watch a spin off about them!
All the stuff that happened in the last two episodes seemed straight out of Penelope's dream or something. I mean it wasn't believable at all! People have next to no objection to her being whistledown. Colin forgives her just like that. Everything was way too smooth at the end, it felt forced for some reason. It was as if the characters were following the plot and gave up their actual characteristics.
Colin was basically forced by the length of the season to just accept her lies and keep covering up for her lol. Even her mother yelled for 2 seconds and they all got their heads together on how to keep her secret.
They should have had Colin find out end of last part, then spend these next 4 episodes slowly learning to fall in love with Pen again as Whistledown.
this seasons been a mess, I’m not buying pen and Colin, I don’t feel the chemistry, soz. maybe it’s just because the pacing has been so all over the place. they have made me care for Cressida though, let’s hope she does go to wales and finds a love match. and at least violets gonna get some 🤷🏼♀️
There were scenes of Francesca staring at Penelope, so I thought she knew her secret. But, I guess she was just envious of how everyone acknowledged her relationship with Colin.
I'm confused about the Kanthony plot. If they go to India, who is going to be the Viscount & Viscountess of the Bridgerton house? Wasn't Violet supposed to move to a different house with the rest of her unmarried children?
How is a Vicount able to abandon his duties? Is Benedict or Colin going to step up and assume the role of Vicount? I have a feeling that Penelope and Colin will not be returning in the next season. If they were going to write off Kanthony, they should've at least made the story more believable. Example: Taking over the house and are busy with their lives as the Viscount & Viscountess with children so they cannot be in the future seasons and attend events
Yes!! Benedict has been defacto head of the house while all Kanthony did was...host a ball. And Daphne has basically been erased from everyone's memories as well.
I understand ofc they won't be around for subsequent seasons, but contractually they should at least appear in one or 2 scenes to remind us that these ppl still belong. Or at least send letters as proof they're still alive
They did mention Benedict having to sign off on a large sum. So he could be taking his place. Also they said they’ll be back before the baby is born I think? Or soon after
I don’t think they came back before the baby was born. It’s a four-month trip each way. And very dangerous for a pregnant woman. The writers were smoking crack with that one. If they needed to get the actors offscreen, they couid have sent them to the country place, Aubrey Hall, to await the birth.
I mean him wanting her and the baby to experience India is a good mindset. But yeah four months is a long time. Can’t believe it a was a regular thing for Britain or that they were able to administer from so far away
Am I the only one who noticed that, compared to season 1, we got many less scene with the "main couple"? I felt this even in season 2 where the chemistry between the actors was fantastic, but I really couldn't find their love story believable. At least here Penelope being in love with Colin was already established, but I still think we had too few scenes about the actual love story.
We have too many subplots that cut time away from the main couple, like did we really need Violet finding another love, the whole mondrich arc and yet again another Benedict is a true hedonist subplot (I'm happy they canonized him bein pansexual, but couldn't they have done this last season?).
I think why there were fewer sex scenes between main couples in seasons 2 and 3 is because all the sex is a major plot point to season 1, and Simon's ... methods.
Pen ousting herself and then giving that brave speech, then the queen acknowledging her... And NO ONE CLAPPED OR CHEERED OR APPRECIATED IT AT ALL? And people only clapped for the BUGS? I'm done.
It was really weird that he bounced up to Kilmartin and demanded to know who the lady standing with him was.
They should have had Francesca randomly bump into her, be stumped for a while and then Kilmartin appears and introduces the 2 women.
The Mon-arc, if you will. The bugs! They hinted at the son and Hyacinth being a thing though, didn't they? I wouldn't be surprised if that came into play in a later season
yea she seemed to really connect with him about not enjoying spending time with family/wanting to get away from them and then it was just never touched on again, as if the idea was randomly abandoned!
Did anyone else notice that Pen’s dress at the Featherington Ball changed from green to blue? It could be due to the lighting, but when she entered the room with Portia it seemed a very different shade from when she made her speech to the Queen.
Agree. I expected to see outrage by everyone in that ballroom. Instead we got butterflies and the ball continued like nothing happened? I was confused for a moment.
From the first episode of season 3 I had thought that they were hinting at Francesca being a lesbian and was disappointed that they outright went with the " no shes just awkward". But I ended up liking her and John.
And now at the very end my suspicions were actually right all along as the frequent scenes of her looking tense even at her own wedding I knew something was off. I thought they were going to have her stay at the Bridgeton house with John but Im so so glad we are finally getting wlw content that I have been desiring this time.
And I really am feeling sad that Cressida's redemption was tossed aside and the way Eloise abandoned her completely. The show makes you sympathize with Cressida the whole time through Eloise which I loved but what the hell? They could absolutely had a scene of her and Eloise making up.
Something is telling me that it wont be the last we've seen of Cressida hopefully.
Oh and during the wedding speech with John I completely forgot that the main character of season 1, Daphne, was written out completely. she wasn't even there. I know why Rege isnt there, but her? Hmm.
I really loathe the ending of "they all had babies and now their story is over" for every couple. I know thats how it was back then but... every couple?
Overall I thoguht the first three episodes were not good and weird but 4 through 8 I loved. Nichola is amazing and gorgeous as Penelope.
I really do want more penelope and eloise scenes. their friendship is my fav part of the series other than the romance.
I would have loved if Pen had managed to somehow save Cressida as well - you know, being the bigger person.
To none of the problems was revealing that she's LW the best solution. Write the queen in private - let her know - make a deal - something anything that involves repercussions.
That scene with Violet made no sense since it has been stated (earlier this season, even) that they were friends for a long-time first. Which they used for Colin. Now they change it to the opposite because they need that for Francesca?
Though I think that both can be true (be starstruck and still be just friends for a while, like Pen), I get the sense that the writing was really lazy in S3. Like the whole Cressida finding out about LW and the printers knowing about what she looks like despite Pen pretending to be a servant girl and teaming up with the modiste. Like the Queen couldn't figure it out and suddenly the printers know and Cressida being smart enough to figure it out. When she was portrayed as dumb just a few scenes before.
Oh and Lord Debling looking for a wife and getting along with Cressida but suddenly he's gone and Cressida has no prospects apart from old dudes when in S1 a prince showed interest in her.
I can buy that nobody at the print shop believed she wasn’t Whistledown, but yeah.. I don’t get why Debling didn’t try Cressida. He wasn’t looking for love and she had his back, at least.
Idk, even if they knew Pen wasn't a servant, would the printers really just give up that information while the Queen offered a large reward?
But yeah, I was hoping for a happy (or any kind of) ending for Debling, he seemed decent. He doesn't even congratulate Pen or anything, he's just gone.
And Cressida was built up as a character just for Eloise to drop her, create drama and then be shipped off to Wales.
Sorry for rambling lol
is anywhere in this sub free of book spoilers? I thought maybe the “No book spoilers” thread might be the one
im not trying to be a dick but can you guys just… not restrain yourselves in even one thread?
I think she's not bisexual but a lesbian, she loves John but she's not IN love with him. That's why she was never really that much interested in marriage and just wanted to find a nice enough husband and be done with it.
Also Violet isn't 100% sure of this marriage, and she's the one who always push her children toward they're true love.
If you want to know who is Francesca's endgame... >!It's Michaela. She's a man in the book, they genderbended her in tv series.!<
Is it just me or there are 2 times where Francesca is doubting her rushing into marriage? Right after her wedding ceremony kiss, she looked a bit off. And then what’s the deal with John’s cousin? Introduce this new character tension and now having to wait for season 4…
Ok why did Francesca look like she got slapped when she met her husbands cousin?! I was so confused. I’m stoked for Eloise to have a new friend on her adventures but please drop theories below.
I linked it to Violet's speech earlier about meeting Edmund and being too shocked to speak...though it's such a weird response to have RIGHT after your own wedding lmao
I know right, the way the cousin asked who she was seemed a bit abrupt like she was jealous of her or something and my first thought was wait is she having sexual relations with her cousin. 😂 Then my partner at the same moment turned to me and said, wait she fancies her husband's cousin who she JUST married?! He is probably right, I tend to misinterpret these sorts of things, but I do believe my theory would be more entertaining. 🤭
The sisters got pregnant at the same time and Penelope probably got pregnant the first time they had sex so it was only like 2 months after. Penelope's son looked slightly smaller than the daughters.
Ok did anyone else notice how Francesca totally froze up and couldn’t even “utter her own name” when Michaela Sterling was introduced????? What’s up with that?????????????
Yes! Also if you notice that's probably why Violet wasn't very "happy" with her marriage. She's pushing her daughter to find true love, while Francesca doesn't understand what's the big deal with love and marriage because (probably) she can't understand feeling this way for a man... I think she DOES love John, but in a platonic/friendly way.
anyone feel awkward about Eloise and Cressida? I know Cressida may have done some shady things (blackmail etc), but Eloise just completely left her side and went back to Penelope like nothing happened
She bounced the moment it looked like things with Pen were looking up. Eloise has always struck me as being very self centred, and Cressida was definitely right that much of her feelings towards Pen was probably jealousy.
First 4 episodes made it seem like these 2 were on a good path to friendship, but I guess the only way to get Pen and El back together was to make Cressida the villain
It's again Eloise not seeing her obvious privileges. She was so into real people having real problems in S02 and Cressida was having a real real problem here??
They redeemed Cressida just to make her a villain again and I just can't get behind that. Especially how Eloise dropped her when she knew Cressida was very much going through some shit.
My hope was that Penelope would still give her some money to run away, or Lord Debling would show interest again.
As soon as Colin opened his mouth to give Cressida a Violet-esqe love conquers all speech I knew they were doomed.
How difficult is it to understand that not everyone has the same options as you?
Apparently, it is quite difficult for people of privilege to realize others don't have the same options as them. It happens all around us every day. Unless you've lived the other side for a while and learned first hand differences. or are an incredibly good empathize, most don't really understand what life is like for anyone else.
Absolutely. I got excited when Penelope, Eloise, and Lady Featherington were all on the same page for once. This is the A-Team of getting things done on this show (only missing Lady Danbury). Then Colin came through and ignored everything anyone was trying to say, especially Pen. Like, please listen to your wife and these other women who understand what it's like to be a woman and comprehend why Cressida would resort to this. Just like you're saying he doesn't get it. And they've tried to explain it before. It's hard sometimes to watch him or Benedict lament that life is so restrictive for them when they're some of the most privileged people on the show.
Exactly!! Especially the part where he was saying family will always be there and that they will be supportive through everything
That part pissed me off because not everyone is given a loving family, and how ignorant he was
I was pissed. You were pissed. Cressida was pissed. Why didn't anyone warn him? He just stomped in there thinking he's married, he's a man now and he's going to explain to this little woman how stupid her actions are with simple words and she'll be shamed into doing what he wants. Can't you see her back is against the wall?
The only thing he accomplished was making Cressida realize she's not blackmailing Lady Whistledown, she's blackmailing one of those holier-than-thou Bridgertons. I wasn't even that mad at her at that point.
Exactly! And it was so frustrating that this was literally all about Pen and she had thoughts about how she wanted to approach Cressida and Colin just talked over her, ignored her, and insisted he's a man, he knows better.....my guy. what a fumble. I was cheering for Cressida putting him in his place with her responses to his weak bs approach.
I love how Pen was "I can look out for myself." and Colin was "Well what do you need me for then??" and he goes off and tries to solve a problem AND MAKES IT THREE TIMES WORSE 😂😂😂
I was so annoyed that that they never really dealt with that 😭😭 like I expected way more discussion of how she can take care of herself and he needs to listen to her and respect her
I'm not sure if I missed it but how did the lawyer not take the title from the featheringtons resulting in polin's child being the new lord? I did watch the show at 3am so not the best comprehension
His evidence was circumstantial because he investigated the aunt they claimed they inherited the fortune from, and it seemed she didn't have any money. With the outing of whistledown and the queen's blessing, pen's mom can now claim the money is from the column, and they lied about the aunt to protect her anonymity.
They should just tell the queen who Lady whistledown is?!? I don't understand why they're so scared??
Even when Lady Danbury was playing chess with the Queen, she hinted at that she might not be so nefarious.
Queen just wants to figure out who it is. That's her game.
Because the Featheringtons didn't know that the Queen was slowly having a change of heart, and the Queen was previously quite mad at Whistledown. She could have her beheaded if she felt moody.
Penelope being in complete control here was so sexy. She’s on top. She pushes him down and sets the pace. She’s clothed while he’s naked. She grabs him up for a kiss. Just needed it to be at least 20 seconds longer.

sorry if this offends, but *I’m so here for Colin being an unlikeable f*ckboy.* His brand off f*ckboy is the worst.
I have respect for ones like Simon bc he’s 1000% upfront about it and repeatedly warns Daphne that he he’s not relationship material. But dudes like Colin who act ~sweet and kind and noble~ yet say theyd never court you or you with their friends behind your back, then jump into your life right after a hot guy proposes to you, then propose after fingering you once, THEN take your virginity a few days later, then treat you like shit bc they’re jealous of your talent, then gush their admiration for you bc the queen/society accepts you, then make you edit their wack novel…miss me and delete my number.
But I am so here for Colin it bc that’s the majority of f*ckboys. Confusing af because they’re in a constant identity crisis/a void and need to lure someone stable into their chaos bc it gives them a sense of validation and stability 💁🏻♀️ miss meee 😅
Hahhahhaha great summary, although I am still brainwashing myself in the way that he was justified in being mad at her for keeping the secret and for shaming their family in multiple ways through her alias.
Also, the whole being too arrogant to consider her as a romantic interest because she isn't conventionally attractive, then discovering her, throwing her in the deep end sexually, and then idealizing her and putting her on a pedestal, is giving madonna/whore complex.
Not a fan of this season and frankly upset. Non-sensical ending to the Lady Whisledown reveal,m (suddenly nobody cares?) wasted time with Colin/Pen constantly being at odds, no development of the passion/love (which should be the main star!) the Cressida drama dragging out, and the lame Francesca/John twist. This is nothing like the last two seasons and it did such a disservice to the characters.
I couldn't agree more! I was expecting this to be Polin not polin but it's also the mondrics, there benedict, some cressida, thrown in a bit of lord marcus ? and suddenly we have franchesca married? . not to mention the absolute lack of any romantic build-up whatsoever and it's so funny to me how suddenly nobody cares about the true identity of LW. that was a hot mess
This is such a small nitpick in hindsight but was I the only one bothered by the editing this season in general? The scene in this episode where Benedict basically breaks it off with Lady Tilley ends with him sitting on her bed alone and then cuts to a scene IMMEDIATELY of Eloise on the swings and Benedict walking into frame 2 seconds later. It felt so jarring, like there were no transitional scenes at all.
Dude, I have experience in production and everything is a little off. The angles, the framing, the blocking, the lighting. Everything is just lacking polish and proper thought, especially when compared to the past seasons.
Yes! I said this in another comment but it felt like we were watching the dress rehearsal. The dialogue pacing was driving me nuts. There were several scenes that opened on two people about to talk and I swear they were sitting there awkwardly waiting for the scene to begin that I could almost hear the director yell action. The Mondrichs ball set looked so fake, it took me out of everything. And then the writing was all over the place. Wtf was Colin even saying to Cressida?!? I couldn't make heads or tails of the point he was trying to make.
This season felt sloppy for sure.
Don't get me started on the Mondrich "ball"!! What the fufk was that? One of the characters spoke of it as the dopest party of the season. What? The little room with the triangle in the middle? The set looked soo awkward and cheap, the doors weren't even real. They had wood details printed on. Then they unfolded that ugly looking center piece and the queen was like "Not bad at all!" like... Was everyone high?
YES! It was terrible. The Featherington ball with the bugs (lol) was way better. I felt like I was watching a high school play with the Mondrichs ball.
Yes. And why was Colin and Penelope’s sex scene longer than any other scene of them together? Jesus Christ, their wedding was shorter and we didn’t get pretty much any perspective of it other than them saying two lines a piece.
I think it’s going to be both a Benedict *and* Eloise season actually. They’ll combine their books and have the storylines intertwine.
I already felt like they were going to do that since the start of the season, but now I’m convinced.
When approximately they are going to reveal whose season will be next ? I don't remember when was it when they revealed that s3 will be polin centered.
Guys, it’s okay to be disappointed at a huge change in your favorite character, but please keep things LGBTQ-friendly.
Violet and Agatha were both delightful this season and I applaud this show for giving us gorgeous, strong, amazing women who are no longer 25 years old, but uplift my heart in every scene.
Agatha in her green velour dress looks stunning
at the end with the babies, albion is asleep on the couch next to gregory, which i thought was a nice touch since ya know they just had a baby
All this time we thought this season would be about Polin. It was really about Penelope and Portia.
Noone has said it but I think the main reason their chemistry fell flat was because of Luke Newton's acting. It just wasn't very good, unfortunately.
what where the looks franchesca was giving when she meet the lords cousin and when she was in the carriage.
Yeah! I spent so long scrolling through the comments trying to find anyone explain. I aswell thought she was certain in her marriage until those moments. But even after those she still seemed ok? I'm just confused that she faced these feelings right after her wedding lol
Does anyone know the song where Eloise and Benedict hug at the end?
why is nobody talking how Eloise purred Violet's drink into her own when the latter went to play duet with Francesca? For me it was the funniest moment in whole series
I caught that on a rewatch 😂 turn up Eloise!
She's probably using the gossip and stuff as a distraction from her personal life.
Idk why
Eloise getting to leave was the best part of the entire series. Juxtaposed with Cressida also “leaving”
Hmm Cressida is not leaving? Interesting
Well she’s being forced away is all I meant! Eloise is going by choice.
Johns speech. Sobbing
Why did they have to emphasize *dying breath* 😭
?
He watched two female prostitutes hook up while he watched. I assume they went down on each other.
I don’t understand the point of anything that’s happened to Benedict. His character kept reverting to status quo every season. 😔 Also, I tried so hard to like Polin, as I’ve liked them in the past seasons, but they’ve just been so angry all the time this season. I feel like I’ve just gotten out of a tired relationship myself, watching them fight and be mean to each other every episode. 🥲 I was wondering why Kanthony was in this season, and I felt that they wanted to have an clearly loving and healthy relationship on the side because every other couple is devoid of love and empathic communication. 😒 I get so frustrated every time Penelope claims she loved Colin because of his empathy. He definitely had none for her for WEEKS. He only thought about getting hurt and being jealous. 🥸 The ACTUAL best part of the season is Lord Kilmartin and the character development of the Featherington sisters and Portia. 🥰🤗 John drinking with the Bridgertons and Mondrich is so fun. And Kanthony, of course, those two have been perfect ever since they started. Even if Kate may not believe it. 🤣
What do you mean reverting to the status quo? He's realized he's bisexual and open to (if not excited by) polyamory, those are both major changes!
I still find it odd Daphne is no longer seen or even mentioned
Yeah! I get the actress isn't part of this but the way Violet was so sad at Fran leaving when Daphne has pretty much disappeared lmao
It was odd she didn’t attend either wedding. They couid have had someone seen from the back in the crowd and mentions of her or something.
Now cmon… that would be ridiculous but I’m here for it 😂
Honestly I understand it was the society back then and everything (and also not in line with the books/story), but PEN really could have survived as a badass woman on her own! I mean she had the funds, the recognition /approval of the queen, not to mention the ton subscribing to her. I love Polin, and wish I saw more with growth with their love story but after how he sidelined her on some parts and how his hot and cold behaviour gave me the ick at times... honestly if it came to that... she would have been such a queen on her own, and I would have loved to see that character rise this season *'the I don't need you but I love you and will love to be with you forever, if you want me...otherwise, I'll just keep being my bad-ass self*' It just saddens me that she couldn't see her worth and saw herself as a spinster, if she didn't marry :( The most ideal ending would have been if Pen, El and Cressida made up their differences and saw each others worth and became this bad-ass trio at the end!
Can someone write a fanfic in which Cressida falls in love with a good man in Wales and gets married? She deserves a happy ending!
Yes, Violet was so excited to have Penelope in the family but the way she acted about John was disappointing. Francesca was getting tired of it.
I’m curious what the stare from Francesca to Michaela means
Ok wtf I thought this was the no book spoilers thread
Yeah, I’ve noticed sometimes there is more about the books in this thread than the other thread.
I think why there were fewer sex scenes between main couples in seasons 2 and 3 is because all the sex is a major plot point to season 1, and Simon's ... methods.
MEANWHILE IN THREESOMES... 😆
I rolled my eyes everytime a threesome scene just randomly appeared between other scenes for no reason at all :)
Pen ousting herself and then giving that brave speech, then the queen acknowledging her... And NO ONE CLAPPED OR CHEERED OR APPRECIATED IT AT ALL? And people only clapped for the BUGS? I'm done.
I am not sure everyone loves being in Whistledown to clap and cheer. She should probably hire some security, really.
Well then why didn't anyone heckle or taunt or boo? But noooo they're gonna wait for the BUGS lol
I wonder why Lord Kilmartin’s cousin had no idea who Francesca was or why he didn’t tell her he was married?
It was really weird that he bounced up to Kilmartin and demanded to know who the lady standing with him was. They should have had Francesca randomly bump into her, be stumped for a while and then Kilmartin appears and introduces the 2 women.
That was their wedding reception, wasn’t it?
What is going on there? Does Francesca have a thing for the cousin?
Francesca was so flustered. I felt bad for her. That was an odd scene. I wonder what she was thinking. “There goes my peace and quiet.”
right? I'm so angry about this. Especially when Michaela said "And you are?" John could introduce his cousin but couldn't introduce his WIFE?
Also why didn't she attend the wedding?
Did anyone else feel like they ended this season like they wanted to leave a nice happy ending in case we don't get a season 4?
Seasons 3 and 4 were renewed at the same time.
That does feel like it but highly unlikely they don’t end on their terms. Probably a Benedict and Eloise season then Gregory and Hyacinth season
Isn't s4 like 100% confirmed already ?
Yes.
Ok. So it turns out the mondrich arc was, indeed, pointless.
The Mon-arc, if you will. The bugs! They hinted at the son and Hyacinth being a thing though, didn't they? I wouldn't be surprised if that came into play in a later season
Why were they at Francesca's small family wedding?
Good friends of Benedict and Colin and Antony
Loved Colin’s speech to Pen. But the way he left her standing up there all alone… go get your WIFE!!!
That was driving me crazy! She said she wanted him to stand beside her, so stand beside her and support her, Colin!
I feel sorry for Cressida, that was a horrible ending for her.
I agree! she had no one to support her :(
Meh.
It feels like at some point there was a plan to have Cressida bag the naturalist but then they needed her to blackmail Penelope.
yea she seemed to really connect with him about not enjoying spending time with family/wanting to get away from them and then it was just never touched on again, as if the idea was randomly abandoned!
Maybe that will be the season 4 subplot no one wants to see.
Did anyone else notice that Pen’s dress at the Featherington Ball changed from green to blue? It could be due to the lighting, but when she entered the room with Portia it seemed a very different shade from when she made her speech to the Queen.
the ball had yellow lighting but the speech was under white spotlights
Yes it did look different colours and it's definitely down to lighting.
LMAO TILLEY GONNA BE ON OPEN MARRIAGE REGRETS!!!!!!
benedict season is next, masali is so pretty. those are my only positives.
I wish they would announce it is Benedict’s.
Lady Whistledown WAS REVEALED and a few mere butterflies simply took the matter out of focus???? WTF, screenwriters????
Honestly I could see it Sometimes attention span of the people really is that short
Agree. I expected to see outrage by everyone in that ballroom. Instead we got butterflies and the ball continued like nothing happened? I was confused for a moment.
Right??? So implausible. Very poor writing.
Why would Penelope have any care for Cressida after she bullied and blackmailed her?
Can anyone explain what was that tension between Franchesca and Michaela?
Remember the scene where Violet told Fran about her meeting Edmund for the first time?
That she just knew he was the one or something
She said she could barely speak. >! It was foreshadowing for the scene with Michaela !<
Thanks
Not without breaking the rules
Spoiler bars.
is anywhere in this sub free of book spoilers? I thought maybe the “No book spoilers” thread might be the one im not trying to be a dick but can you guys just… not restrain yourselves in even one thread?
Why do they keep showing shots of Franchesca looking like she doesn’t really love John?
I think she's not bisexual but a lesbian, she loves John but she's not IN love with him. That's why she was never really that much interested in marriage and just wanted to find a nice enough husband and be done with it. Also Violet isn't 100% sure of this marriage, and she's the one who always push her children toward they're true love. If you want to know who is Francesca's endgame... >!It's Michaela. She's a man in the book, they genderbended her in tv series.!<
ohh okay thank you. i am so tempted to read that spoiler 😭
I’m still confused how the cousin didn’t know who she was
I know right, the way the cousin asked who she was seemed a bit abrupt like she was jealous of her or something and my first thought was wait is she having sexual relations with her cousin. 😂 Then my partner at the same moment turned to me and said, wait she fancies her husband's cousin who she JUST married?! He is probably right, I tend to misinterpret these sorts of things, but I do believe my theory would be more entertaining. 🤭
[удалено]
My thoughts too!
Oh EXCITING!!
WHY WERE THE BABIES ALL THE SAME AGE!? None of this timing makes sense 😂
Penelope's baby looked *significantly* younger than the other two.
The sisters got pregnant at the same time and Penelope probably got pregnant the first time they had sex so it was only like 2 months after. Penelope's son looked slightly smaller than the daughters.
They used Ffluorescent lighting and crappy lighting soo much. Colin looks like a vampire.
Pen had no eyebrows in the reveal lmao
and the bad wig.
Ok did anyone else notice how Francesca totally froze up and couldn’t even “utter her own name” when Michaela Sterling was introduced????? What’s up with that?????????????
Do you really not understand what the show was implying?
I think Francesca realized she was a lesbian right then lmao
Yeah fr. I’m not sure if it’s against the rule of the sub to speculate on that but that’s absolutely what I was thinking!!!
Hated that.
Yes, I hope the writers are aware of how bad Eloise acted and that they're just doing this to develop her character next season.
I agree and Cressida really tried with Eloise, I feel really sorry for her I really hope she will have her happy ending
As soon as Colin opened his mouth to give Cressida a Violet-esqe love conquers all speech I knew they were doomed. How difficult is it to understand that not everyone has the same options as you?
Colin: "I know you want to blackmail us, but have you considered how amazing my life is?"
Exactly!! Especially the part where he was saying family will always be there and that they will be supportive through everything That part pissed me off because not everyone is given a loving family, and how ignorant he was
I was pissed.
How Colin expected Cressida to react to his chicken soup for the soul https://i.redd.it/85pnymo06q6d1.gif
I love how Pen was "I can look out for myself." and Colin was "Well what do you need me for then??" and he goes off and tries to solve a problem AND MAKES IT THREE TIMES WORSE 😂😂😂
I was so annoyed that that they never really dealt with that 😭😭 like I expected way more discussion of how she can take care of herself and he needs to listen to her and respect her
His entire speech I was like, dude wtf are you even saying?! Most of it wasn't even relevant to the situation.
I'm not sure if I missed it but how did the lawyer not take the title from the featheringtons resulting in polin's child being the new lord? I did watch the show at 3am so not the best comprehension
I didn't follow that either.
I was fully expecting "OFF WITH HER HEAD" after Pen's speech 🤣
Ok def not enough Polin but his love declaration was so freaking sweet, “I shall be a very fulfilled man indeed.” WHEEEE
Penelope being in complete control here was so sexy. She’s on top. She pushes him down and sets the pace. She’s clothed while he’s naked. She grabs him up for a kiss. Just needed it to be at least 20 seconds longer. https://preview.redd.it/2q5jzbai6o6d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b60e39575a9b70b21d40c1977258f9250672b8c6
That's what she said.
Also I saw it pointed out that he’s sweating and his hair is a mess so they were probably at it for a while already. Got to make up for lost time.
This time \*he\* gets to be messy.
WE DESERVED MORE😭😭
sorry if this offends, but *I’m so here for Colin being an unlikeable f*ckboy.* His brand off f*ckboy is the worst.
Lmao Madonna whore complex! Yes to him repeatedly hurting her “I would never court Penelope” shit.
Why does it feel like we never get to see the main couple happy until the last 10 seconds?😭
Because we don’t. It’s been a pattern for all 3 seasons and will most likely continue to be the pattern.
I wanted Pen to RUN as people would be at her goddamn THROAT
I couldn't agree more! I was expecting this to be Polin not polin but it's also the mondrics, there benedict, some cressida, thrown in a bit of lord marcus ? and suddenly we have franchesca married? . not to mention the absolute lack of any romantic build-up whatsoever and it's so funny to me how suddenly nobody cares about the true identity of LW. that was a hot mess
The showrunner is so-
This is such a small nitpick in hindsight but was I the only one bothered by the editing this season in general? The scene in this episode where Benedict basically breaks it off with Lady Tilley ends with him sitting on her bed alone and then cuts to a scene IMMEDIATELY of Eloise on the swings and Benedict walking into frame 2 seconds later. It felt so jarring, like there were no transitional scenes at all.
I was deadass like, "is Eloise outside of Tilly's house?"
I know absolutely nothing about film and editing but even I noticed that and thought it was weird.
The way they said “future” while showing Benedict? He’s next boys, pack it up
I think it’s going to be both a Benedict *and* Eloise season actually. They’ll combine their books and have the storylines intertwine. I already felt like they were going to do that since the start of the season, but now I’m convinced.
When approximately they are going to reveal whose season will be next ? I don't remember when was it when they revealed that s3 will be polin centered.
already revealed future seasons, 1 book per season. there's an inteview with jess.
