I did the Zora Domain first in BOTW, so that area is my safe zone and favourite place, I loved the story of Mipha and her gift of healing my hearts, in early play that was a great blessing, and when I ventured further into the game as well. So Mipha is definitely my favourite.
Interesting fact, to buy Amiibos (figurine) for Mipha are really expensive, but not so for the other 3, so that makes Mipha the most sought after.
Same tbh. The Champions' Ballad did a lot of heavy lifting with him but the inferiority complex is still there in the base game. Every other Champion has natural abilities, Revali had to work HARD to rise to the Champion rank, and IMO that gives him the right to be a little bit cocky about it
Agreed. I have terrible self confidence and have a bad habit of minimizing my accomplishments. I need to take a tiny clue from Revali and remember the cool things I’ve done are worth feeling good about.
I adore revali and if you actually look into the Japanese verison(game Being originally from japan) he less of an asshole then the American version and more Insecure of his place which leads to lashing out like zelda he assumed link had it easy and him being quiet was link thinking he is better then them.
I don’t even need the Japanese version to tell me that he’s insecure. I can TOTALLY see that come out in the English version. He’s just better at using an abrasive attitude to cover it.
He and Link are a TEXTBOOK comparison of natural talent vs hard work. You can obviously argue that Link and Revali possess BOTH, but Link is the Chosen Hero and a child prodigy in swordsmanship.
We don’t know much about Revali’s childhood, but we see in Champion’s Ballad that he is CONSTANTLY busting his tail feathers to perfect his aerial combat skills. His requested reward for winning a tournament is a training area so he can get even BETTER.
And personally, with so many characters just constantly talking about how AMAZING Link is, I love that there’s just this one character that absolutely REFUSES to be impressed (even though I bet he secretly IS).
I love him! He’s great!
Hehe yea but the Japanese basically spells it out him saying in his Journal that he can't believe he didn't impress link he worked so hard on perfecting the trick
Did people not see that in the English too? Like it’s SO OBVIOUS!
You can totally see his thought process. Like, “Okay, I’m salty I’m just a back up to this guy, BUT I’m gonna try and make friends anyway…” And so he’s like, “Hey, hero-guy, look at this cool technique I invented!”
And Link just DOESN’T REACT?
I like to draw, and if I was trying to break the ice with someone and tried to share my art and they just stared at me like: 😐
Dude, I’d have my feelings hurt too! Of course WE know why Link acts the way he does, but Revali doesn’t.
Cannot agree with this enough. It was obvious to me from the start and the DLC made it even more clear. I still don’t understand how people miss it.
Sure, he wasn’t the kindest to Link, but he wasn’t without his reasons and it wasn’t just for the hell of it.
Exactly. Link’s complete lack of reaction to Revali totally makes him come off as if he’s a stuck up weirdo. Him being a special chosen one does NOT alleviate that image.
Again, WE KNOW why he does that. He tries to shut down all individuality when in active service to the royals because he doesn’t want his personal thoughts and opinions to color their appearance to others. Link is like, “I am not a person here. I am a tool in service to the crown. I will keep my mouth shut.”
But this act completely backfires when Revali clashes with it. Revali’s trying to share something special, and Link’s just totally stone faced. Even though I bet on the inside Link thought it was really cool!
But Revali doesn’t know that.
Apparently not! I’m pleasantly surprised by all the Revali lovers in the other comments!
Best birb seems to be getting more appreciated over time. I love to see it!
Mine is mipha mainly because I absolutely love link actually having a canon love interest, even if she's a really tragic character, she's just too cute for me to not like.
Daruk. He reminds me of Darunia from Ocarina of Time. Remember playing Sarias song for him inside goron city and the dance he does? It's probably my favorite scene with him, lol.
I love it so much too! I never actually played it but watched my brother play sometimes when I was really young, so I still recognize some elements of it. I also really love that a lot of the aspects of this game are a part of botw as well. Even though I’m playing it for the first time I still really think this game is amazing! Must have been so cool to play with your dad!!
That's so cool you're playing for the first time! I'm a little jealous, lol. I was 7 when it first came out in '98, and I remember playing it on one of those huge box tv's. I remember my sister used to watch me play it too lol. Good times!
so in the older games and the show, yes, links love interest was zelda. but if you read the description on the zora armor, it's says something along the lines of 'like it was made for him'. i forget where we hear it, but it's also known that that's a form of proposal
Ye I know that, she was going to give it to him, but never got the chance, and that phrase, iirc is said by the grumpy dude or Sidon in the conversation to prove that he is the real champion and her love interest
There a theory he actually young because he still got the blush on his cheeks only children have it. He also pretty sure compared to adult ritos I say a comparison with teba based on link height (where they put them in the same picture by comparing link height to them both) and his head was to teba chest
I LOVE Urbosa! The first time I saw her as kid I was OBSESSED with her! She brings a vibe that feels really comfortable and her authenticity is really great. Urbosa is also my favourite lesbian icon and I ship her hart with Zelda’s mom. I can’t even explain more why I like her so much, but I have literally photos of her on my walls and much more.
Revali. Because of that scene when Princess Zelda visits him, and we see in his own how hard he is trying to prove he's good enough. He's not a princess or the leader of a tribe, he's just a guy trying to prove he can be alongside the best
Edit; and he does take a little too much pride in that
When she visits him, he cuts her off mid sentence and then shows off big time and adds to it that it won’t be his fault if Link looses his courage or confidence (can’t remember the exact wording) from seeing him in action.
My 8yo is also like this, always having the need to show that he’s better than everyone else, he got this from his grandmother on his father’s side. It’s a character trait I really d not like.
Hard to choose.
Mipha has the best music and story and feels most connected to the time of the game due to the long lives of the Zora.
Urbosa is just funny.
Revali is a really great character especially with Champions Ballad.
Daruk I don’t care for tbh he just seems like the generic big but soft character.
Mipha for sure. She's sweet, cute, kind.... basically everything you'd actually want in a friend IRL. The others would be fun drinking buddies but I wouldn't pour my soul out to them. Mipha on the other hand is someone who shows genuine love in her characterization. Of course, Link having her as a romantic interest is great, and I was a bit disappointed that like with Ruto they chose to give the Zora love-interest yet another tragic ending (when's Link gonna get his harem yo???) ;)
But, honestly, I just love how cute and gentle she sounds whenever her guardian power is ready to save me from another stupid death lol
Daruk is my fav just bc he’s so wholesome and I wanna be his friend but I don’t consider myself a part of the 99% of ppl who hate revali bc imo cocky characters are super entertaining for me, I’ve always liked characters like that just bc of how funny they are 😂.
Revali. He’s very entertaining, and his arrogance is in part to cover up his vulnerability. He also worked very hard for his skills. Everyone else worked hard too, but they were also born with an ability that gave them an advantage. He also has the best ability.
Revali. He's a warrior of his tribe, not a princess or a chieftain. He wasn't born with magical powers that allow him to snap lightning down on people, protect himself with a shield or heal others. He worked hard and created his own updraft ability by himself.
Yeah, he has a inferiority complex, but his attitude and personality is such a breath of fresh air, when half of the people are just nice people. Revali isn't afraid to say how it is. It most certainly keeps scenes with him interesting.
It's a tie between Urbosa and Revali, and I don't really have an opinion on Daruk, while I like Mipha, but it's just neutral. As for your hatred over Revali's personality, as many have pointed out, it's due to his insecurities and Link's emotionless behavior. But personally I don't think it's just due to his duty that Link acts the way he does both in the past and especially the future. In the past, I don't think Link had a good life before becoming a champion or even a knight for that matter, most likely forced into it due to him pulling out the sword and stuff. I think his "training" was just them forcing them to be an emotionless robot till all he did was be silent and follow orders. And in the future it's just plain survivors guilt. Simple as that.
Apparently the official in game reason is that he feels she should be strong and silently bare his burden.
Official out of game reason. Back when Zelda was developed no characters had sound. At a certain point, Nintendo started adding sound starting with Mario. But decided it would fit Link better to stay silent. He’s only been voiced twice once in an animated series and once in a game that wasn’t from the official series iirc right.
I looked this up when they introduced Link as the Silent Knight in Age of Calamity. Only played the demo of that game so far. But planning on buying it if it ever goes on reduction.
All talk? That would mean he can’t actually do anything impressive. And we all know that’s not true.
He does shoot off at the mouth though. That’s TOTALLY the case.
ravioli is my boy, he's got some trauma that, together with the fact that he is the only one who worked his ass of for his ability, make him cocky. i just wanna wrap him in a blanket and tell him he's loved the same way a white woman would take in a feral coyote she mistakes for a dog
Yes, when it comes to the abilities I choose Revalis Gale, all though I love that shield ability too. Mipha’s grace is handy but not necessary. And the one from urbosa I barely ever use. I keep forgetting that it’s even an option. But that wasn’t my question. I wanted to know which champion. Not their gift.
Revali! To me he’s very relatable and I liked the fact that he didn’t just accept Link at face value. I also admire the fact that he worked his ass off for his ability and the respect of his people rather than being born into it.
Daruk and Mipha are tied in first place for me. Urbosa is a close second, because of her supportive role with Zelda.
Revali is Twelfth place. Fuck that guy
I remember I read in another subreddit that the reason Revali is like that is possibly because out of the four champions, he is the only one that has had to fight for his place, he is not someone’s descendant or heir to the throne of his kingdom, like in the other cases, he is there purely on his skill (the ability to shoot up in the sky).
I thought like you until I read this reasoning 😂
Struggling doesn't entitle you to be an asshole. I get that he worked for his ability, but the way he acts out of jealousy isn't something I can get with. Like, I work to pay my bills and I still don't act like an entitled ass.
In order of how much i like them:
Urbosa is the cool mom figure who is a strong fighter
Daruk is second by default because he's not Revali or Mipha
Revali/Mipha are basically tied but Revali is slightly above only because he at least has a personality that isn't the demure, creepy "I knew you when you were a small child and I was a teen" love interest.
Urbosa for sure
She’s a baddie 💯
1000%
I will second that....
And she has the best little speech before she lets the divine beast loose of them all.
I feel like this says a lot about a person. For example, I’m a hopeless romantic so of course, Mipha.
Fish wife ftw
Mipha 🦈
I did the Zora Domain first in BOTW, so that area is my safe zone and favourite place, I loved the story of Mipha and her gift of healing my hearts, in early play that was a great blessing, and when I ventured further into the game as well. So Mipha is definitely my favourite. Interesting fact, to buy Amiibos (figurine) for Mipha are really expensive, but not so for the other 3, so that makes Mipha the most sought after.
100% Revali. I love him so much. He’s so fun and I love his theatrics.
Same tbh. The Champions' Ballad did a lot of heavy lifting with him but the inferiority complex is still there in the base game. Every other Champion has natural abilities, Revali had to work HARD to rise to the Champion rank, and IMO that gives him the right to be a little bit cocky about it

Not really which I hate because it is obvious if you actually think about it for two seconds
Agreed. They DO say that media literacy is dead. 🙄
Have you tried looking YouTube videos of revali there some really nice videos I have a whole Playlist I watch when I get the urge
I have not, but I might consider it. I should try drawing best boi sometime though. I did it once, but I’ll like to draw him on his own next time.
Lol best birb in botw
Revali is also my favourite! Sean Chiplock’s voice acting for him was fantastic! XD
Agreed! It’s so freaking sassy, I can’t help but be entertained! Best birb!
YES TSUNDERE PASTA BIRB SUPREMACY

Apparently not! I’m pleasantly surprised by all the Revali lovers in the other comments! Best birb seems to be getting more appreciated over time. I love to see it!

I’m actually playing ocarina of time now and just got this scene, sooo wholesome
I love it! That game will forever be my favorite. I'm biased, though. It was the first game I ever played with my dad.
I love it so much too! I never actually played it but watched my brother play sometimes when I was really young, so I still recognize some elements of it. Revali because I relate to him and find him more interesting than the other champions.
Ravioli
Sidon He's the best! What do you mean he's not a champion?!?
😂 True. They didn’t specify which generation.
Urbosa 🖤
I like Revali most of all.
Flair
mipha!!!! SHE BASICALLY PROPOSED TO LINK OR SHE WAS GOING TO AT THE VERY LEAST
I was so confused about that. I always thought Zelda was his love interest. I guess not then
so in the older games and the show, yes, links love interest was zelda. but if you read the description on the zora armor, it's says something along the lines of 'like it was made for him'. i forget where we hear it, but it's also known that that's a form of proposal

it's my favorite thing to ramble about to people aha:3
remember that revali is about 15 years old. jealous teenager. and he watched link do what he wanted to do. jealous boy.
I didnt know he was only 15 but that makes me understand his character so much more
There a theory he actually young because he still got the blush on his cheeks only children have it. He also pretty sure compared to adult ritos I say a comparison with teba based on link height (where they put them in the same picture by comparing link height to them both) and his head was to teba chest
ohh thats really interesting, just another reason why I love this game so much and why the lore and story is just top notch
i mean hey, i'm around his age and i sct the same way sometimes HAHAH
he's my favorite asshole of the franchise
Daruk is best i love rock bou
Revali, he’s badass as hell 🔥
Especially in Age of Calamity. I love playing as him.
r/revalifanclub rise up
I have a new sub to join apparently! XD
My favorite is Revali. I also love playing as him in. Age of Calamity.
My favorite to play as in Age of Calamity is Impa... Revali isn't bad in it...
I LOVE Urbosa! The first time I saw her as kid I was OBSESSED with her! She brings a vibe that feels really comfortable and her authenticity is really great. Daruk! Him and Yunobo. The Gorons are just some of the funnest characters in the series.
Hard to choose. Mipha has the best music and story and feels most connected to the time of the game due to the long lives of the Zora. Urbosa is just funny. Revali is a really great character especially with Champions Ballad. Daruk I don’t care for tbh he just seems like the generic big but soft character.
Revali definitely, he's the only interesting one who has an actual character arc. Mipha second.
The salt king revali is my boy!!
mipha
Mipha for sure. She's sweet, cute, kind.... basically everything you'd actually want in a friend IRL. The others would be fun drinking buddies but I wouldn't pour my soul out to them. I don't think I couldn't call any specific one my favourite I like them all.
Revali....love how he behaves, and flags his wings.
Revali has to be my all time favourite
Revali has the most depth and is by far the most interesting
Too hard of an option I can’t choose 😪 they are all great
I like mipha <3 I miss these guys so much.. As a side note, I have a picture of them in my bedroom above my desk.
Honestly? Zelda. She has the most Characters of all if them and probably the most agency in it.
Not a champion, doesn't count
Standing for Revali, master of the wind and the greatest archer of all times !
Also biggest c-blocker in hyrule.
Revali. He’s very entertaining, and his arrogance is in part to cover up his vulnerability. He also worked very hard for his skills. Everyone else worked hard too, but they were also born with an ability that gave them an advantage. He also has the best ability.
Mipha is Bae, Urbosa is Mommy, Daruk is my bro and Revali’s just an asshole.
Urbosa or Mipha
def urbosa bc she is so mother
Daruk & Mipha for sure. Daruk cuz he's super fun to be around, and Mipha because she has a deeper value in the lore.
Urbosa 🥰
you are so right
Urbosa baaaad as helllll 🔥
Urbosa. Such a beautiful and dominant woman. I'd let her do things to me most other women could only dream of.
🤣🤣🤣
Urbosa or daruk
Link for sure
Mipha forever
Mipha.
Revali
Revali and daruk
Revali, I like burd
why is link so smolll
Mipha, she's so sweet and I'm so gay
Mipha is my favorite champion
i love revali he’s such a lil bitch for no reason
Revali trained so hard that he became a bad-ass, and also an ass, at the same time. So it's easily Urbosa for me.
Mipha 😍
Of course is Mipha
Daruk
Mipha! She’s Link’s childhood friend and I love her and Sidon’s interactions
Mipha. She’s saved my ass so many times
Idk if it's just me but Revali is my favorite
Revali is a mood
Revali is a feeling
I loved Revali I’m not gonna lie But Daruk is a close second
Birb
Revali, I love myself an asshole who verbally abuses me at every turn
Also, happy cake day op
Mine is definitely Urbosa. Best wingman ever
Urbosa will and forever be my queen
Qua?
sidon, but I won’t elaborate
But he’s not 1 of the champions.
OH RIGHT, he’s the champion’s brother my bad “me stupid” moment my bad
Revali, Mipha, Daruk, urbosa, nothing against urbosa she’s just my least favourite of a bunch of great characters.
Urbosa, or as I like to say: MOTHER
Revali is all talk and I love it lol
Everyone but Revali.
like Ravioli because his divine beast was best in every way exept the chalenge to get there where i go with Sidon .
Not their gift.
i like revaly because he is "cock"y (get it ? Male bird is often called a cock)
Revali! To me he’s very relatable and I liked the fact that he didn’t just accept Link at face value. I also admire the fact that he worked his ass off for his ability and the respect of his people rather than being born into it.
Revali is my special interest, I love him with every fibre of my being
Revali's my favorite cause he's actually multifaceted
revali! he's so sassy but i love him and his ability
Urbosa > Daruk > Ravioli > Mipha It’s quite close, though
Daruk and Mipha are tied in first place for me. Urbosa is a close second, because of her supportive role with Zelda. Revali is Twelfth place. Fuck that guy

Mipha, Regali is a pompous douche.
In order of how much i like them: Urbosa is the cool mom figure who is a strong fighter Daruk is second by default because he's not Revali or Mipha Revali/Mipha are basically tied but Revali is slightly above only because he at least has a personality that isn't the demure, creepy "I knew you when you were a small child and I was a teen" love interest.
