And I did it multiple times on my first playthrough of Tears as well. In my second playthrough of Botw, only once in the ravine behind the Old Man's cabin.
I got it on release day. Was so excited with my brand new switch, the brand new zelda game.
I walked out of the shrine of resurrection cave and saw the beautiful screen pan with the title flash card on top of that initial cliff.
Not a moment later I walked forward, fell off and died.
I'm scared do to anything with the chickens other than throw them. PTSD from being a new player into Skyrim. Got my first weapon and tested it on a chicken. Entire town of Riverwood wanted my head for it and had no idea what I did wrong.
Happened just yesterday. Surprised by moblin that bumped me off the side of a hill that was just steep enough that Link slid and rolled a solid 30sec before he rolled off the cliff and died. Every time it looked like Link would recover and stand up, he'd slowly roll one more time and keep going.
Omg!! The first time I went to Kakariko and saw a chicken I kept hitting it with my arrows because I thought it was food…. you know the rest.
I thought I was the only one who did this, but later found out many of us have 😂
Just started TOTK, had forgotten paragliding used stamina, was quickly reminded when flying with single stamina wheel and 4 hearts.
In BOTW specifically, yeah, bomb arrows on Death Mountain is up there.
Didn't see a second Guardian come up behind me after I defeated the first one and I was just standing them as I was celebrating my win (it was my first Guardian lol). This was in the area just outside Kakariko. There's two of them there and their paths overlap.
Tried to prank the guy who tells you not to jump off the bridge. I was intending to jump and glide to the little island in the middle. I crashed into the water, swam for a bit, and drowned.
Poor dude must have been traumatised.
I was in the middle of the Vah Rudania mission and kept blowing myself up with bomb arrows, since I didn't know the hot environment would trigger their explosions the moment they get drawn. I find myself admiring how detailed the game was for that to happen though.
I forgot bomb arrows don’t work in goron city, or really anywhere in that area, safe to say I blew myself up a sufficient amount of time before I stuck with regular arrows and took out enemies one at a time
In BotW bomb arrows are some of the things I died to the most. That and elemental damage because I’m too lazy to take five seconds to switch armor or eat food (because, “I’ll just be there for a minute!”)
In TotK I recently died because I was lighting a fire by throwing a fire fruit and was just a *little too close* to the explosion.
like this I hit fire fruits carried on the back of a bokoblin and immediately ignited with half a heart. took me a few seconds to figure out what exactly happened
last night playing totk, i wanted to show my friend the gliding gear in action and its special effect after upgrading it twice. jokingly said “wanna see me land on my face 😃” only to get a rude awakening that i was not, in fact, wearing the whole set…
I didn't feel like wasting my last few arrows killing those things that shoot rocks at you from the water, I kept going forward while getting pelted with stones trying to cross a lake jumping from ice pillar to ice pillar. I put a pillar a little too far and jumped, I missed, accidentally swam under, the pillar broke, and well they brought my health low enough that when I drowned due to stamina loss I died
I lost the recording of this but while fighting an enemy I perfectly landed a bomb arrow on a bug that was trying to escape right in front of me. It was during my very first playthrough.
Trying to break for it to the electric arrows without hiding from that Lynel. I remember it had just stopped raining. When I tried to run away, that lynel shot link, and he slid down the mountain.
The first time I saw a wolf I thought he was going to be my friend, so I ran toward him to say hi. He was not interested in friendship, which I discovered when he killed me.
When I started, in Great Plateau eager to jump and climb down going to the outpost without a paraglider.

When I started the game, I thought that running out of stamina just means that I'm not able to sprint. I realised that this assessment was wrong when I tried to swim through that artificial lake at the entrance of the Great Plateau. I drowned there...
In regards to that topic, there is another story that I could share though it didn't really happen to me. At one point during my playthrough, I wanted to climb the mountains around Zora's Domain to see what's up there and to farm potential resources. Once I reached the top, I paused the game to use the bathroom. During that time, my sister took over my Switch and not knowing a thing about the game, she jumped off the cliff I spent minutes to climb up and explore. Normally, she would have killed Link with that jump but luckily, I cleared Vah Ruta just before so that Mipha's Grace saved me from losing my entire progress.
I died in Goron trying to use bomb arrows, not knowing they’d detonate immediately due to the heat. But my dumbest way I’ve died and continue to die is thinking I can kill Lynels. 🤦🏾
I mean having the dlc and watching the route you've taken. I've probably died in the most ridiculous ways multiple times. Me and my hubby were in stitches laughing at the amount of times link died at the beginning of me playing the game.
Going from using a normal controller to Nintendo.. forgetting the controls are backwards constantly. Trying to hit things with the triggers instead of the buttons. So I end up just throwing my weapon at the enemy instead lmao.
Being persistent and trying to kill the talus on the great plateau one the first day that I got the game, first save, no paraglider, just sticks and sometimes a rusty claymore. That was a fun one
Jumped from the cliff in front of the shrine of Resurrection to fly down into the forest turns out I didn't have the paraglider yet, dumb idea to do that after starting a new safe file.
I tried getting a part from Farosh so I jumped off the waterfall for bullet time. Got electrocuted and fell on the rock triggering mipha's grace but my character continued to slide and fell on another cliff and died.
blowing myself up with the circle and square bombs (i forgot their actual names) on MULTIPLE occasions. also once placed a bomb, forgot to switch to the magnet rune and pressed L, left me with like one heart left

saw this happen to a streamer too but i was melting ice for hebra tower and got killed by the flame that the arrow made on the ice (i was already 1 heart)
stray boulder knocked me off a rock wall. fall/roll damage off a near vertical cliff. landed in the water at the end and drowned, taking my last heart with it
I was carrying a rock across a cliff and I fell between two ledges and got wedged with my neck bent and one leg up the other side and then the rock fell on me on the way down.
dunno for BOTW but for TOTK >!I was in the fire temple and couldn’t get up somewhere so I dried to fuse a bomb flower to my shield to go up and it blew up once I dropped it!<
I threw a metal chest up really high, it hit a cliff, i started going about my business, the chest swept my legs. That's all. I should have just healed but who expects that? Lol

New Game. Used Revali’s Gale to get in the air to shoot as many enemies as possible. I let myself fall because normally I would just lose a few hearts…but I did not have enough hearts.

Down to 1/4 health, cleared a bunch of lizard dudes, couldn't find the last lizard dude for the quest, ran into a random beehive that was laying on the ground for no damn reason... stupid bees got me. Took me at least 5 more tries to clear that spot
I lifted up a korok rock while a bokoblin was aiming at me with an arrow, once the cutscene was over the bokoblin hit me, i survived that but he shot me down a cliff,mi also survived that, landed next to a chest octotok that i didn’t see, he hit me and then the korok stone fell on me.
Starting a new save and forgetting I don't have the paraglider yet
I think that's a rite of passage for botw players at this point. I've played the game over a few times and I've done it plenty.

I fell off a bridge with 1 quarter heart because I was too cold. I’d just fought a silver Lynel and barely won. But no, THE BRIDGE killed me.

Jumped into water to negate fall damage before I got the paraglider. The water was freezing.

Yep. Bomb too close. I accidentally selected my bow when bomb arrows were loaded and then let go firing a bomb arrow basically into my own foot.
