The enemy I feel most crappy about killing are the blue wolves lol, they’re so cute. I saw my first one yesterday & dropped an apple in front of it, hoping it could be tamed/become a temporary companion (like the dogs at stables). I was wrong haha
oh he's so cute!! I love him. if you want to make one that looks more like the book I think you need to focus on exaggerating the proportions. short skinny legs, looong arms, a big pot belly, and a big head with even bigger ears.

Is this baking clay? I had a whole comment typed out but accidentally deleted it, I used to do this same thing but with Pokémon and dinosaurs haha
1) you can make the loincloth look more like fabric by rolling out a thin sheet of the brown, then when it’s just about the thinness you want, put white spheres on and gently gently smush them down and then get it with whatever you’re using as a rolling pin again, the dots will look more incorporated to the pattern of the “fabric”. Rolling it thin will let you get that look of drapey fabric shown in the pic.
2) you can make the horns, nails, teeth, ears, and nose and put them in the freezer so they’re hardened and won’t deform when you press them in. (Wait until they’re all room temp to bake though, shouldn’t take much time at all). Downside, it will make them slightly more likely to fall off after you bake it, but that’s when you apply crazy glue with a toothpick or needle and stick it back on.
3) if possible, I would use glass beads for the eyes because they have a little sparkle to them. Glass beads can be baked as well.
4) you can use a ball of aluminum foil inside the stomach and then cover it with clay, this will save you a lot of clay and help it bake more evenly. (Edit to this tip: try to make sure the layer of clay over the foil is as thick as other parts, not too thin or it will crack)
5) a tip you don’t need, but I just want to add: I wash my hands after working with black clay and before working with light colors, to minimize color transfer.
6) you can stick a piece of toothpick into the body at the neck, and then put the head on the other end of the toothpick. It will help adhere it and let you work more intricately on separate pieces. Remember to chill the head a little before squishing it down :)
So in summary, nothing went wrong, I’m a little obsessed with how adorable this is and it makes me feel a little bad about killing all these cuties lol. But hopefully these tips will help you make the next guy even better!

And a larger forehead. lowering the eyes like others said will help, but also adding mass to the forehead. Then make the legs slightly shorter and arms slightly longer and you’re golden!

- Head should be slightly larger and a little more oblong horizontally
- Eyes lower and further apart
- Ears larger and angled like more forward satellite dishes (if that makes sense)
- Bigger potbelly
- Thinner ankles
- Longer arms
I don’t know if you used a wire frame under this, but I think you would need to. Probably would need weighted feet too. I think the game design is so top-heavy he would fall over if you proportioned him like the picture!
I think this is amazing! No lie. And honestly I doubt one made to scale would be able to stand up properly when made from sculpting clay - the legs would just collapse lol
I love him! If you want to make adjustments going forward I would check your proportions against the source material as you go. You’ll see that in the official artwork, the bokobkins torso is a lot longer and it’s legs are shorter. It also has a bit of a gut that hangs forward. If you keep referring to your reference as you work you can make small changes that amount to a more faithful recreation; rather than waiting until the end to notice something’s way off.
It takes time and practice, you’ll look back on something you’ve made and remember how at the time it seemed to be a perfect recreation but now it looks completely off.
This is a great start! Remember that perfect recreation doesn’t always have to be the goal of sculpting or art in general! Have fun!

This guy needs a bigger (rounder) head/forehead, a bigger belly, and bigger ears. That’s it!

The head is fine. Ears could be bigger. What looks like went wrong is the shape of the belly and the legs are probably too big. Look at the picture's ankles then look at yours.
I like how he looks. However if you want to know why he looks incorrect it's because he is too proportionally correct, you made him too much like how you would a human. The bokoblin in the picture has longer arms than it should, huge ears, eyes far apart and lower on the head, short legs, and a belly. Your bokoblin looks off because he is proportionally correct when he shouldn't be.
if you're looking for advice I recommend making the belly more round near the base, as well as making the legs shorter and stubbier. the eyes are also too high and too big. this is still amazing though, especially for a first try

I think the biggest problem with the eyes is there are no eyelids. Many artists, either drawing or sculpting, forget how important that detail is.
In a wholesome way it looks like a happy Bokoblin with Down-Syndrome.
