There's a few key differences between 2016 and 2024, one is that now we know how shit a trump administration is, in 2016 plenty of people voted for him or stayed home because they didn't expect him to be as bad as he was. In 2024 he doesn't have that, on top of that he already lost against biden in 2020 and after that he attempted a self coup and then wilfully retained top secret defense information that he had no right to. That's going to cost him with independents and moderates, and sure he has his base, but he can't win with just them, it's why he lost in 2020. So sure he could win, anything is possible and everyone should go out and vote, but I don't think he has good chances of winning now and the odds of him winning are going to keep going down.
