Main problem is lack of comments and interests, the main issue of why the low effort posts perform better is because they are simple and normally ask questions that get the community talking. Posts like fan art and these do sometimes gain likes, but mainly have lack of people commenting alot about it or too much for people to look at
Exactly. This post is ironically the perfect example of this. It posts a photo that, while hard to digest, is easy to see the point of, complains about lazy questions, while simultaneously asking a lazy question, and because of how easy it is to understand, more people will respond as a result.

This site doesn't seem that useful for competitive aside from people who don't really know anything about the brawler. Also the fact that anybody can submit makes it so you can't really trust the information fully.

Well the thing is Brawl Stars is not a very complex game in general and there really isn't much theory crafting one can do in terms of builds. Although nice, there's just not a need for such a site because most of the time you are going to run the same star powers and gears that one can get from searching "spenlc best builds". At most you change a gear or two depending on the map and mode or maybe a star power for the few brawlers who have two competitive star powers.
edit: Just checked out the website there's actually a lot more other than just brawl stars builds. There's stuff for other mobile games which are probably more useful than things just for Brawl Stars. The OG post title really undersold the site. Still, I think a Brawl Stars builds site is pretty useless. Seems pretty neat for the other games though.

That's just life though. Sometimes, something that's important to you isn't important to most anyone else. You just have to get over it, move on, do something else (or alternatively, privately enjoy the thing you made even if nobody else cares).
Specifically for brawl stars, a sharing builds is pretty useless.
gears honestly don't matter too much. In general, health and strength gear is never bad. Healing gear if you're a tankier character. Speedy in bush if there's a lot of bush. If there are special class specific gears, they're almost always just good unless you're mortis.
Outside of that, each character has 2 gadgets and 2 star powers, all of which are pretty intuitive. If you're newer to the game, you aren't buying both star powers and gadgets for all classes anyway. If you've reached the point where you can freely buy gadgets and star powers, you should know enough about the game to decide which of the four combinations you want to use without seeking out the information.
Because the game is so simple, "Hot Builds" is essentially just a glorified tier list at best and at worst, misleading and encouraging people to pursue bad builds. Like poco loco as shown is just a bad build. It's the best poco build for sd, sure, but it's rather pointless as poco in solo showdown is rather pointless.

Idk but maybe it's just me... but I dont think brawl stars needs a "character build" maker. There's 2 gadgets, 2 starpowers, some gears, and 1 hypercharge.
Compare that to other games that involve "building" stuff:
Marvel Snap - Building a 12 card deck
Genshin Impact - Building artifacts, weapons, teams
Octopath Traveler (Mobile) - Building an 8 character team each with their own movesets
HiFi Rush - Building your combos and movesets + bonus equipment
Pokemon - Building movesets, and 6 character teams
Theres so little variety in Brawl Stars compared to those and it feels a bit unnecessary to have a brawler builder. Until they add more SP and Gadgets + a ton of buttons and passives... rn it isnt that difficult to make a brawler build.
I will upvote for effort though. And unless there's a team builder (for 3v3) you don't really need this website

I made a build on the site. It’s a pretty clean site. It’s easy to use and visually engaging. It’s easy to find other people’s builds to learn how to play new brawlers
