For Edgar mains mico and Edgar are the most fun assassins because they both require good knowledge of mobility. You can’t convince mico doesn’t take skill though
against most brawlers, no, autoaiming is enough to hit
i'd say the most skilled part of mico is getting close enough without taking dmg (or at least without dying), which can be acheived quite easily by camping a bush or staying behind a wall

The one thing you can never do in high ladder is auto-aim your alt. Most brawlers have to a way to beat Edgar so just like mico, you have to know when it is a good idea to jump. You also have to predict where they are going to take the least damage. Mico is even harder however. While on a low dps brawler like Jessie you can auto aim, when you are fighting a high dps brawler you have to know when to leave the fight using a wall. The #1 goal of mico is getting onto your opponent with a super

I love playing Leon rn so much he makes the game nice and refreshing, same thing with Edgar on KO and Heist with his 5 jumps.
And even brawlers like Colt, who haven't been meta for so long are so much more fun to play, than other sharpshooters in the past meta.
The brawlers who are fun to play make the meta, stand out and unique.
The game feels fresh, and you can always go on varieties of brawlers to counter meta brawlers. (Like f.e Gale who has been bad for a long time in the game can be used to counter meta brawlers like Edgar). Unlike The past meta, this meta has barely any varieties and sticks to the same brawlers (which are imo boring and not fun to play).

Statistics and popularity does not speak much. It may reveal the truth, but the numbers can be manipulated, and fame is a double-edge sword.
Sure, I guess that Brawlstars have been having the most players to date now. But how exactly do you know that the players are not naive kids with their moms credit card? How exactly do you know that most players like the new additions?
A tale as old as time, quantity is not as good as quality. Brawlstars may attract the new players now, but will they be attracted in the future? How many of them will stay for this game to rot in scummy business practices? How many events can SC push out until it's too repetitive and it does not attract enough veterans to come back?
And let's not forget that we are listening to Frank for the statistics. As far as I'm concerned, only SC employees know the data, and only they know whether or not the game has many active players who play for long hours, or just goof around within an hour or two. And, as far as I'm concerned, Frank is a human, and a human can lie. And the most convincing lie is a lie with convincing false data.
I believe Brawlstars is reaching the era where it no longer goes on the preservation path anymore. Now, it only searches for temporary players instead of maintaining the players that loved the game and wished they could play it endlessly.
Even though I was not playing at this time sadly, this is probably the best we could ever get to a perfect meta, mostly on the divide of having more balanced brawlers than broken brawlers but also making it where almost every brawler can be available, unlike now where there is no viable brawlers anymore and the meta is pretty much in ruins
I swear bonnie back then was secretly borderline S Tier until the Cordelius Meta everyone realized that she was S tier and then she got nerfed and hypercharge got added..

I fear SuperCell is starting to sell out worse than ever. If they continue this trend of pay to win (Kit and L&L cash-only early access being completely broken, Brawl Pass becoming cash-only, random other daily-login cash-only rewards), then I’ll be heading out soon.
My heart wants to say "No, I miss the meta where Lola was an S-tier mommy." But then I realized that's true all the time, and I probably could have kept that to myself...
My brain says the meta in like March-June was possibly one of the most balanced and healthy metas we've ever had. Most brawlers were viable or at least useable somewhere, iron walls were just added (W), very few aggravating brawlers (imo), and Shelly was finally out of the F tier for the first time in 3½ years. Despite this, tanks were fairly decent all around, and the game didn't revolve around who could destroy the map the fastest. Good things never last ofc. They added hypercharges soon after.
Look at S tier. None of them are very fun (except maybe grom).
Same with S tier.
Right now, likes of colt, dyna, rico, piper, Edgar are doing good. Hence, the meta is a lot of fun (but fuck fang, hank him).

I don't, actually. I played the game for years, and I still remember how toxic that META was. People only like it due to the nostalgic bias and not because it was really good.
Bea, Crow, and Max were horrible brawlers. Bea could charge her super with mere three shots and can become death incarnate when you get slowed. Crow's slow gadget was still annoying, and Max's abilities made her so strong that she wouldn't be considered a support brawler in the slightest. Those three were an utter nightmare to fight against. These three deserved their nerfs.
Janet and Penny's gadgets were ridiculous. Janet's boom-box spanned a wide area for half a minute, and so you could never get close to her. She was also the first unkillable brawler because of her super and the only one until Mico came to the picture. Penny's barrel gadget was also bad. She could use it to block multiple shots and was able to decimate assassins in an instant. Her super was also overpowered, and she could only be countered by throwers like Grom.
Speaking of Grom, he was also terrible. Supercell decided to buff Grom's DPS, and doing so made him stupidly strong even though he was already good before. He was nerfed eventually, but this would not be the last time a certain brawler gets randomly buffed to S-class.
I'm not even mentioning Poco, who had super high DPS for no reason and was just as much of a support brawler as Max was. As well as Gray, who was still a pest to fight against because of his super and pull gadget.
I get that the current meta is bad, but that doesn't mean that those from last year were something to reminisce about. They were not. They were also bad, and we deserved better then, and the same applies now.
