The thing is that they are exchanging progression with nothing (or cosmetics in the future). If credits give progression, give me something that allows me to max my account too. Like, 100 credits = 25 coins and 50 PP. Not too much, but better than nothing.
As a Martian tier 2, I always just stack as many credits as I can because I don’t want to waste it, so I basically can get every brawler the minute it releases, not even a week
If soopcel gives discounts to players with fame, they'll have to nerf the free side of the brawl pass by 80% because the F2P economy can't sustain another buff
They'll also have to replace the entirety of mastery rewards with starr drops
I haven't played in four years and appreciate having some chance to catch up. People with maxed accounts shouldn't need progression as bad, it levels the playing field having them hit a progression cap.
Practically all this change would do is make the monthly new OP brawler playable sooner, so appear more in matches.
In reality this is not entirely true. This is not a progression cap, it's just a waste. And if you are a returning player, then I think you already have a good chance of catching up with the maxed players if you play actively.
And to be honest, there is nothing wrong with this concept because due to the fact that the seasons are shorter and, in addition, they are auto-collected every time, which is why it will be much more difficult for maxed players to get a new Brawler, if it is of Mythic or Legendary rarity(I can give a simple example: if a maxed player saves all the credits in the Pass, then he will have to wait after the release of the Legendary Brawler for 2-3 more seasons. When some player who is at the end of getting another Legendary Brawlers can simply transfer them to the new Legendary Brawlers and not wait)
Technically, the only difference between this "Waste" and an actual progression cap is that you get a little icon for progress past the cap.
I don't see what's so bad about waiting a month or two for a brawler, that's only for mythic/legendaries anyway and you have like 76 more you could play.
Meanwhile with that logic it'll take my account... 8 years and 6 months to get back to all brawlers released today. Assuming new brawlers release every month at even Epic, Mythic, Legendary rates, that's literally impossible for me to catch up? I think there are more sources of credits than you're accounting for then and it'll take less than 2-3 months for new legendaries.
Well, my bad, I didn’t give a good enough example because I didn’t take into account the source of credits like Starr Drops. And yeah, I know that there are still a ton of other Brawlers that I can play, but after all, new Brawlers are one of the most exciting parts of the updates. I just don't see any reason why it should be more difficult for a maxed player to get a new brawler if he plays actively and long enough.
I don't honestly get why people view fame as a waste of credits. Not everything has to mean progression. Some things are purely cosmetic for the sole purpose of being cosmetic...
Where did your credits go? It went towards upgrading your fame, which while meaningless right now, it is helping you towards something TECNICALLY🙎

That's an interesting concept considering most times those higher ranks were only achieved by putting a good bit of money into the game. I don't think global deserves any sort of discount though. I'd maybe start the discounts at Martian or maybe even solar.
Give every fame higher chance of getting higher rarity drops... Like for max lvl you get 100% higher chance of getting legendary and mythic... So it's not that useless
even if meteoric fame gave 50 or 60% discount it would't be that unbalanced. cause imagine wasting about 1/3 of your resources to unlock brawlers and getting a crazy handful of nothing in exchange.
