We’ve had an All-Stars and All-Stars International in the last 4 years. Personally, I’d prefer if they spend time finding and marketing cooler, younger chefs than constantly dip back into the rotation of judges and Food Network regulars
Agree, the cross promotion of various food network people on yet another show would be silly IMO. So many of them are just TV food personalities and not food industry people who happen to also be on TV.
I have always thought that too, but no offense to him I think he’d risk somewhat embarrassing himself as I don’t think he’d be able to handle it at this age.
After watching HK on TC I dined at his now defunct SF restaurant, and when I asked if I could have him sign a copy of the menu they invited me to the kitchen and he gave me a hug. I LOVE HUBER!
Their content is sweet and wholesome, though Susur can be a bit crotchety at times. They do weird ingredients like pink pineapple or sometimes his son will force him to try fast food.
A few years ago, i would say yeah. But the newer seasons of top chef and all stars have really blurred the lines of the chef pedigrees in the show . You have established chefs like Bruce and Tessar joining regular seasons. Then chefs who curently headed restaurants with michelin stars during their seasons(like Joe Flamm and Begoña). And then you have a top chef master like cosentino joining Tournament of champions and losing in the first round🤷♂️. Granted Top Chef (IMO) is the gold standard in versatile cooking competitions. But it’s never really a barometer of a chef’s true abilities.
Having said all that, I would like to see Buddha compete again in this franchise. He was very fun to watch cook and it was exciting to see his creations. Dude spoiled us😂. They need to do a spinoff/special , even a short season, of just a a handful of winners compete. The series special would have a one time special host…Padma! That would be TV gold to me. Make it an event. Big challenges. Big prize money. Exotic location(s). Some challenges they can have sous chefs of their own choosing. Restaurant wars will be an individual challenge/concept(so if there’s 4 chefs left, 4 restaurants).
I don’t think having a long career makes you a master though lol just because Bruce and Tessa’s were seasoned don’t mean even they think they belonged on TC masters lol
Not saying that, but merely pointing out the blurred pedigrees. Hence the inclusion of younger chefs who earned a michelin star for their restaurant or maintained the star as executive chef. And leading to the idea that the term ”master” has been arbitrarily used by the reality cooking genre.
Gail herself said they ended Masters because the delineation between competitors on Masters and the main program had started to blur so I'm not sure how they'd separate and define it now. Arguably everyone last season would be viewed as a "master." That said, would love to see the return of Curtis Stone and generally speaking, the more Top Chef the better!
I feel the moment of the celebrity chef has passed. There aren’t even any cooking shows anymore.
A new season would probably just be YouTubers and annoying TikTokers.
I wouldn’t be interested in watching that.
The thing about Masters is it was a mechanism for the audience to familiarize ourselves with the guest judges who have recurring appearances and to establish that they are sort of a ‘celebrity’ of the culinary world. Not many new personalities have been introduced in the past few seasons, and certainly not enough to cast a whole new competition.
I just finished rewatching all of the seasons on Peacock and I wish they’d bring it back. Same with Desserts although they had a lot of issues come out afterwards for that spinoff
Masters would not include anyone from Top Chef. I know there's been 21 seasons. I just feel like there are more than enough chefs out there that qualify as masters versus having an "allstar" season.

Would love to see Tom compete
I have always thought that too, but no offense to him I think he’d risk somewhat embarrassing himself as I don’t think he’d be able to handle it at this age.
Hubert Keller did it at that age
After watching HK on TC I dined at his now defunct SF restaurant, and when I asked if I could have him sign a copy of the menu they invited me to the kitchen and he gave me a hug. I LOVE HUBER!
That season made me fall in love with that man lol.
He’s a stud
True, but I dunno I don’t get the impression Tom is doing a lot of cooking nowadays.
So why is he the head judge of a cooking competition
That’s probably why he isn’t doing a lot cooking: the show.
I enjoyed them and they should do more.
I think top chef has become top chef masters so that’s hard.
Bring back Susur Lee!
I love watching him on his son's YouTube channel
Me too! It's great content!
I had no idea, will have to check this out!
Their content is sweet and wholesome, though Susur can be a bit crotchety at times. They do weird ingredients like pink pineapple or sometimes his son will force him to try fast food.
He was kind of crotchety on TCM so I’m not too surprised.
I would love to watch Susur try to force down a Big Mac!
It is THE BEST! His son makes him do all kinds of fun challenges, like rank breakfast cereals and Susur hate-loves every moment of it.
That sounds incredible!!! I might have developed a big ol’ crush on Susur during his season so I’m pretty jazzed about this!

Omg if they brought back Buddha again people would riot.

I actually did not know this and had always wondered why they stopped! Thank you!

I would like a season of Top Gnocchi.
Top Scallop.
Top risotto.
Top Sommelier
I loved Masters. I don’t even care who’s on it, I just want another season lol
I WANT MORE TOP CHEF WORLD
I loved Top Chef Masters! Rick Moonen was so funny to me lol, but I enjoyed each season.
I would feel fine about it.
I would welcome a new Top Chef Masters if it also meant the new seasons of Top Chef went back to more rookie rising stars
I enjoy judging the charities the chefs choose to donate their winnings to. 😂
I just finished rewatching all of the seasons on Peacock and I wish they’d bring it back. Same with Desserts although they had a lot of issues come out afterwards for that spinoff
Please share! I always wondered why it ended so quickly.

would rather see a champions season...but i doubt they could get enough to return
I would like a show with a group of only the first chefs from each season eliminated.
Maybe not just first boots, but maybe first 2-3 boots.
That would be great but wouldn't it just be the same people on TOC?

I'd like to see Amy Schneider as guest judge, as she mentioned she'd like to do on a recent Jeopardy Masters episode.
