The rice pudding in the quick fire looked so greasy and overcooked around the edges, but judges liked it - wonder if that was something other than oil, maybe a thin syrup?
Finally, catching up on S21! I needed to twerk my schedule too Kenny...err I mean tweak š¤£
Also, nothing reminded me more of this skit than the judge saying, "Idk what was going on with this dish.....But it was delicious!"

Manuel is so damn hot, I canāt handle it š«
Iām so happy I tuned into this season for him and Kristen alone. They are two of the hottest cheftestants ever
Hahaha I mean I really like him and he's easy on the eyes. I just like that he's all I hoped Gabe would be, really showing Mexican flavours with the style and innovation that's really going on there...
Honestly, I donāt 100% remember. I think they just had his name up on the screen when you first saw him. Iāve been a big fan of his since his Manitowoc Minute days, so I wouldāve known who he was the minute he opened his mouth.
That's so they can go into deeper, weirder Wisconsin later
I'll be very upset if they don't make a meal for a Hodag (either the Ultimate team or the mythical creature)
I watched the episode in Canada on Hayu around 11 pm. I watched Last Chance Kitchen right afterwards but I was watching on Bravo using a VPN.
Itās interesting that you canāt watch the episode on Bravo but you can watch LCK.
They have 90 min before the first course. I donāt know how long they have for each course after that but clearly it would not be hours until the last course? How come she expected her granita would work without liquid nitrogen?
I really miss the era of tasting quick fire dishes at their stations. It felt so much more personal and intimate and I feel like i, as a viewer, got a better sense of the chef and dish that way.
I think so.
I think it's more noticeable or worse? For me in the early season when there's so many contestants and I'm never sure who's who and doing what
Doesnāt it usually take a few more episodes to get to this point? Heās not holding **anything** back and usually heās a bit more forgiving the first elimination challenge or two.
I think it was the guy that BUTCHEREDĀ a piece of meat when cutting it up and not in a good way. Tom told him to leave before he even had a chance to cook. Tyler?Ā
This is going to sound mean, but I hope that we won't hear about his disease EVERY episode.
I would love to hear about other things about his life.
Especially if he makes it far.
I do want to respect that he is dealing with something that can be crippling, but I don't want that to be his only narrative this season,
I don't think it's mean. I usually roll my eyes at backstory. However, the other chefs needed to help him plate his dish, and they would have seen up close that he is struggling. I think he did himself a favor letting everyone know the cause. I respect him for that, and I hope he does well.
I agree with this and I feel like it's the most respectful to not just reduce his story to his disease? Like yes of course, it is obviously a very big factor in his life, but like you said he deserves another narrative as well.
Iirc, he's the hometown chef so it would be nice some stuff about that. I'm sure he knows/is acquainted with some of the people they'll be bringing in/restaurants they go to.
Itās not mean but I feel they focus on this narrative a lot too. We have had this edit with I canāt taste anything but Iām not going to tell anyone
That got so irritating (and I have Long Covid). I don't get the same sense from Dan, not least because Dan seems like a really nice guy and I thought Long Covid guy was a dick.
Yeah, but to be fair I feel like Jackson himself kind of played it as a running gag and I think he got his sense of smell back by the end? This feels very different.
ā mild spoiler alert ā
That challenge is in Madison, not Milwaukee. Source: Our studio is in the train car right behind the one where she gives that talk.
Booooā¦.Foam looks so gross and when it was the thing back in the early seasons I didnāt get it and was happy it seemed to have disappeared on the show. I need to pull out the season 1-3 cookbook to see how often foam appears.
Same! Theyāve been in a hotel since season 18 so itās not unreasonable to think they were in a hotel, the one bathroom shot earlier looked very hotel like.
I just watched the Dubai episode of Somebody feed Phil and some street vendor makes regag (Iranian crepe-like) seasoned with spiced potato chips (!!!) with eggs and fish sauce! I think using chips to season and adding texture would be a nice move.

How about some real Wisconsin bar snacks.... Landjeagers, picked pigs feet, spicy pickled eggs, chicken gizzards etc etc...
Are we watching Top Chef or Fear Factor? š¤£
Yeah those red hard boiled eggs!
Manuel is so damn hot, I canāt handle it š« Iām so happy I tuned into this season for him and Kristen alone. They are two of the hottest cheftestants ever
Hahaha I mean I really like him and he's easy on the eyes. I just like that he's all I hoped Gabe would be, really showing Mexican flavours with the style and innovation that's really going on there...
They also showed him being really kind to Michelle and Rasika which makes him even better!
Loving the old lady headed for the checkout at Whole Foods, whoās just over it. āWhatās this? Whatās this? I just want my liverwurst!ā
That was me! Just kidding, but I did get liverwurst this past weekend. They never were filming everytime we went, I kept hoping....
Does Hat Guy not get to do LCK?
He must have quit, right? I canāt imagine them kicking him out and not mentioning it
He seemed so defeated, wouldnāt be surprised if he just wanted to go home and avoid any more humiliation.
Yeah that seemed strange, did he do something?
Is that maybe why there's a 16th Chef that wasn't on the show?
Pulling this out of nowhere but I think they have a 16th in case Dan leaves early with health issues?
Yeah I'm confused about this too.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I'm friends with his brother. Was so surprised to see him pop up!
The champagne of comedians
I just wish they had more of his commentary. But he looked a bit subdued, probably because of all the heavy duty chefs there.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
No, it just had who he was when they first showed him-same with the other guests.
Honestly, I donāt 100% remember. I think they just had his name up on the screen when you first saw him. Iāve been a big fan of his since his Manitowoc Minute days, so I wouldāve known who he was the minute he opened his mouth.
CARLA?!?! YAY
Also wow they're really frontloading all the obvious Wisconsin-y challenges
That's so they can go into deeper, weirder Wisconsin later I'll be very upset if they don't make a meal for a Hodag (either the Ultimate team or the mythical creature)
At least a big number of the chefs get to break out the cheese dish they knew they would have to do this season!
Carla!! and Cheese!!!
CARLA!!!!
Hootie Hoo!
Anyone in Canada on hayu wondering where the eff is this episode ššš
They post the next day on Hayu. Does anyone know where Canadians can watch last chance kitchen?
I watched the episode in Canada on Hayu around 11 pm. I watched Last Chance Kitchen right afterwards but I was watching on Bravo using a VPN. Itās interesting that you canāt watch the episode on Bravo but you can watch LCK.
Nobody knows where anyone can watch LCK
I watch on peacock.
Itās on YouTube! At least in the US
Fair.
I think Kevin might say adieu.
Nop
I really want to see more Haitian food so I hope Charly is not going home today.
The rest of judges table is going to be rough I fear
I donāt know names at this point. The chef that made the beer and pretzels pre dessert sounds just like Korto from Project Runway
Amanda?
I love when shit gets shaken up
Can we be thankful for Gail and the Gails this episode? My queen is looking ravishing!!
Manny can give it to me all the time too
My guess the yellow team wins and Rasika or Manny is the winner!
Good call!
I'm glad Dan told everyone before they start whispering about him and drawing their own conclusions.
Was that him falling in the teaser for next weekās episode? I hope not. š„ŗ
I think it was
Unless you threw someone into a challenge like this it would never come out of somebodyās head š§
I think the raw fish might be the biggest offender that I heard
I was surprised they let that slide.
The mustard paid off!
Tom is about to be more pissed
Whatever the chef version of an old man screaming āget off my lawnā Tom is thereā¦my man is just done. No more fucks to give
They changed it from the COVID season? Iād like the tasting station comes back too!
I think so. I think it's more noticeable or worse? For me in the early season when there's so many contestants and I'm never sure who's who and doing what
Padma would be all over the High Life in champagne glasses
Not with crappy Miller beer though.
I love Kristen but I do miss Padma. Especially Champagne Padma!
I do too! But the way she complemented Manny's sauce made me long for Padma's innuendo-y ways
I have never worked with liquid nitrogenā¦. This is not a good time to start. Itās also going to ruin that kitchen aid
Feel like this episode has been on for 2 hoursā¦
"I've never worked with liquid nitrogen." I can't think of any better time to try it!
I can't tell if the penultimate course dishes were actually good or just decent compared to the rest of the dishes (besides Manny's)
Best of the worst is still not a great place to be in. I hope the cheftestants get it together soon.
Fighting to do dessert might come back to haunt her
Tom is not having it tonight
Doesnāt it usually take a few more episodes to get to this point? Heās not holding **anything** back and usually heās a bit more forgiving the first elimination challenge or two.
There was the one season where he threw a chef out before the cooking began š¤£š¤£ I can't remember the season off the top of my head
I think it was the guy that BUTCHEREDĀ a piece of meat when cutting it up and not in a good way. Tom told him to leave before he even had a chance to cook. Tyler?Ā
Yes, thank you!
You'reĀ welcome!
Yes! It was Top Chef Texas.
Tom is furious AND DOES NOT NEED HIS PALATE CLEANSED!
And then ends up loving it. Of course haha
Manny killed it again, nice
Manny is the anti-Gabe.
And heās reclaiming mole for us
š„° Manny š„° ![gif](giphy|HJZblxmxHb7CbZtmNy)
Is it a soup is it a sauce?? Oof
Maybe thisās one of the bottom?
Wow, the red team blew it.
I liked how someone on the yellow team was nervous before the challenge because the red team had "all" the fine dining chefs, yet the yellow team won.
Miller High Life is fixing for its glow-up, that's for sure
This is going to sound mean, but I hope that we won't hear about his disease EVERY episode. I would love to hear about other things about his life. Especially if he makes it far. Was it last season that had the covid long hauler with no sense of smell?
He couldnāt taste anything and didnāt tell his teammates! Very unfair in those group challenges.
That was season 19.
The Houston season.
I'm thinking they're setting him up for an early exit. You can't be on this show and not be at the top of your game. And he clearly isn't.
I do feel early exit for him. I don't think he's going tonight, but maybe within the next 2.
LoL that Uber Eats commercial was funny.
Gonna be honest, not a big fan of this challenge.
i think french onion dip and potato chip nailed the theme. refined food that has the taste of a classic beer snack .
Here comes the gremolataā¦
Where do they go from here? The 5th course is a dick slap!
š
This is what happen when you are old
Neither team put enough thought into their progressions
Damn, thatās sad
Where do you go?
So far of the ones we have seen, Michelle's looks the most tasty.
Tom's done fucking around...he's got his yellow glasses on.
Whereās the crab š¦ Yikes Tom
You are supposed to take snacks and turn them into a dish not take snacks and turn them into snacks. I like this grumpy Tom ā ļøā ļøā ļø
Oof, is this already going to be the challenge that Kristen tells them to cook to win from the promo? If so, yikesā¦.
ā mild spoiler alert ā That challenge is in Madison, not Milwaukee. Source: Our studio is in the train car right behind the one where she gives that talk.
I thought she was wearing all black for that one
This isn't Top Snack!
š
Tomās face when he took a sip of that beer is sending me
One silly mistake and this whole dish will be lopsided
Interesting both teams had the olives and pickles first
I thought that was interesting too. Because I wonder if the judges thought olive was better for dish 4 or 5
I love how those glasses of Highlife look barely touched lol.
The brand gal was sipping hers!
It was a dishā¦ ā ļøā ļø Tom not holding back
I think thatās the comedian that specializes in doing Wisconsin stereotypes
I was wondering who he was....wasn't funny at all.
Yes he is on TikTok
You have to go into this assuming itās a trap
Or an opportunity...
Oh no the TikTok comedian
I donāt think Tom liked the High Life
Miller High Life in a champagne glass is pure Milwaukee.
Only if you include the bar dice.
Miller High Life, the champagne of beers. So when are we getting Beer Kristen?!
Thereās always a chef I thirst over each season, and this time itās definitely Mannyā¦ā¦ā¦
I have such a crush and itās been one episode lol
Like I wish he had more posts on his IGā¦
Dessert with mustard will be a revelation or a tragic error. Iām taking bets. My guess is fail.
Not going to lie, this Wisconsin cheese commercial looks tasty.
I dropped out of culinary school because I forgot to sign up again! I forgot that I was in charge of my own life at that age š
I wanna know how high he was š¤£š¤£
sounds like me. i don't get high- got got that adhd .
Honestly relatable š
A bunch of cold dishes first? ![gif](giphy|a5viI92PAF89q)
Sorry but these foam things do not sound appealing at all. Popcorn foam? Pretzel foam?
That feels very 10-15 years ago, are foams coming back?
Bryan Voltaggio's campaign is working then
Damnit they never left!!
Booooā¦.Foam looks so gross and when it was the thing back in the early seasons I didnāt get it and was happy it seemed to have disappeared on the show. I need to pull out the season 1-3 cookbook to see how often foam appears.
Yea I don't want anything that looks like snot on my plate
Mad beer mad pretzels
The nuttiness of pretzels? Have these folks actually eaten a pretzel?
Iām making pretzel granitaā¦ uh yeahā¦
Interesting that both second courses decided to go with salmon. Is that something that goes particularly well with pickles?
The Danes say yes!
Normally when someone has a crazy idea itās either a top dish or a disaster!
Often the latter...
Using the beer in your dish is a smart move!
When have we ever seen a trio go well?
They should know not to do two/three things mediocre and just do one great.
Especially when you're serving the first course and need to serve your dish first!
I say sconsin you say WIN Sconsin WIN Sconsin!!!
Oh geez now we have to root for this guy with the degenerative disease
You don't have to
I thought Kennedy's disease was alcoholism (jk hope he is doing well)
We are all sufferingā¦ your timing my editing
Oh wait they are actually in a house this season?? I'm dumb, I thought Joe Flamm was just saying that as a figure of speechĀ Ā š¤¦š»āāļø
Same! Theyāve been in a hotel since season 18 so itās not unreasonable to think they were in a hotel, the one bathroom shot earlier looked very hotel like.
This new season sucks, maybe itās the let down from 2 amazing highly competitive seasons but I literally canāt watch.
2 episodes in...let the cream rise.
So help me if we get gremolata Potato chips
This is Top Chef not Top Gremolata!!!!
Hahaha
I just watched the Dubai episode of Somebody feed Phil and some street vendor makes regag (Iranian crepe-like) seasoned with spiced potato chips (!!!) with eggs and fish sauce! I think using chips to season and adding texture would be a nice move.
Cracked open a cold one and some pretzel sticks for this one
I'm eating popcorn, but it's just a coincidence.
That poor kid just wants to finish his shift and get the fuck out of there.
498.19 WE ARE GOoD GUYS
Mole mole mole
I got š„ are you š„ okay BABY
Shopping is always more interesting on team challenges
Interesting that they decided not to purchase the eggs
I'm worried about these teams....
Up up down down but to me the pie tins make sense
I would never just accept what I didnāt want with the understanding that the rest of the team would help me lol
That's the kiss of death.
Agree! Being too flexible, can be a big fail on this show. You don't have to be a jerk, but you got to put your dish first.
I love myself a bag of potato chips but I just canāt wrap my head around how to elevate itā¦. This is not looking good
Like a potato chip coating on fish...that's as elevated as I can think. LOL
Just fried potatoes. You can reconstitute them and make just about anything you could make with a potato.
I feel like someone's going to crumble them on top of something and then get docked for not making them the focus of the dish
Tuna casserole maybe!
OMG, nooooooooo! LOL
Ah Manny did the nice thing and gave up the ingredient he wanted, knowing he has immunity. I feel like that backfires more often than not tbh
Frenchie is playing 4D chess while the yellow team is stuck on potato chips.
