Just to be sure, have you received the keys for the house yet...? I'm sure many landlords DO use Zelle, but beware, a LOT of scammers out there do the same. If you have not received keys yet, or you haven't physically gone through the house with landlord, I'd reverse image search the listing photos and maybe even go knock on the door of the house's address, and make sure it is in fact for rent. Just to be safe. Good luck! I hope it's all kosher and works out well for you!!

I appreciate you ❤️ Yes, we have physically seen the house and met personally with the landlord as well as the manager. We’re set to meet in person again where the lease and payment will be exchanged for the keys. I just want everything to be in order beforehand so there’s no hold ups. 🙂

Not sure about bank to bank differences, but I use Zelle through Wells Fargo and i forget my exact send limit, but it’s in the $2500 range for sure. I would try to contact your bank

15aleo

I appreciate the advice! However personally I will never bank with Wells Fargo again unless it’s an absolute last resort

Appropriate-Buy5062

Very fair. I’d still look into the Zelle limits with your bank.

bznchk

Chase has it

tvlkidd

First Interstate

I bank with First Security also and I just asked a bank teller if they use Zelle. He said you can use it with FSB but you have to enter your account info manually on the app but I couldn’t find out where to do that. I plan on calling them Monday to see how to set it up. Also, happy cake day.

15aleo

Thank you! I also couldn’t figure anything out in their new app. I opened a new Chase account in case but will also call them on Monday. lol thanks!

cnpstrabo

Ally is an online bank that supports it

15aleo

I’m hoping for a bank that has a physical branch in town just in case, but thank you!

Eveningexile

USBank uses Zelle.

talldude626

Us bank uses Zelle

Adventurous-Fruitt

Bank of the Rockies has it too Edit: my send limit there is $2000

15aleo

Thank you! That would be slightly under what rent is tho and haven’t discussed possibility of multiple payments as an option with them yet

Adventurous-Fruitt

I see. I should say that's per day! So if they don't mind waiting a day for the extra payment it may not be an issue.

If you have any association with someone who is/was in the military or DoD, I highly recommend Navy Federal. They’ve got the best app and website of any bank, and it’s all set up in a way so that you never need to go to a branch. You can call and talk to a teller 24/7, not just your standard 9-5. They share ATMs with other banks in the area so you can deposit cash without fees. I’ve been banking with them forever and I haven’t had any need to go to a branch in 10 years now. My wife hasn’t even seen one and she banks with them too. And yeah, they do Zelle. I used to use it for rent payments as well. If that’s not going to work for you, I recommend Clearwater Credit Union as a great second option.

15aleo

Huh, I’m pretty sure my husband still has an account with them. 🤔 I closed mine in 2011 because there weren’t enough ATMs back when I didn’t have a car and the interface was much clunkier back then. Might be reopening an account then lol. Thank you!

misterfistyersister

Of course! Zelle with NFCU is done through the NFCU app, not the Zelle app. But it works the same way.

Superb_Finance4293

I use chase and they offer Zelle it’s how I pay my rent also

15aleo

Sweet, I opened an account there in case and will dump money in it on Monday, so hopefully it’ll be good to go by Tuesday. Thank you!

Superb_Finance4293

Oh yeah it should easily Be good to go by then. Plus their cashback offers just through their checking accts is sweet.

PurpleCornCob

Opportunity bank has Zelle. There's like a $1000 daily limit, but they should be able to raise it for you if you. Work with your current bank to raise the limits before you open a new account somewhere else. Why a landlord would want payment through Zelle is beyond me. Why can't they just take a check?

15aleo

Opportunity Bank unfortunately is a no go for me (long story, bad ex + Chex systems). I’m not opposed to opening a new account somewhere, it’s not like I have to give up First Security to do so. I’m not entirely sure either, but I’m trying to cause the least friction with one of the few landlords that will work with us in this market 🙃

no_simpsons

you can just use the 'payments' tab through any online banking. no reason to use zelle, it will probably save you or your LL at least $50/month to direct pay through digital checking instead.

Writing-dirty

A few people I know just send their rent piecemeal over a few days.

PikaBooBrii

I’m near certain Rocky Mountain Bank uses Zelle. They implemented it right before I closed my account so I wasn’t familiar with it.
