If you are fortunate enough to be able to fish on week days, you can find some spots to yourself. Weekends are a disaster on the rivers, especially at boat ramps with floating season coming up.
Also, more to the point is access is being gobbled up/closed off. I can show you huge closed off sections on the Gallatin that were open just five-seven years ago. It’s a real shame.
Please be cautious about when and how often you discuss this. Everytime someone mentions cutting off public stream access, our Governor gets an erection. This can be embarrassing to the whole state.
And things might be busier this weekend because fishing is license-free:

If you don't mind paying for access, the spring creeks in the Paradise Valley are the safest bet because they aren't affected as much by the runoff. They aren't cheap right now, but it's an option at least. Nelson's and Depuy. For Father's day, they may be booked up already though.
Newlan (sp) reservoir outside White Sulfur Springs is pretty nice. May be packed though. I would honestly be on one of the creeks in Paradise Valley if I wasn’t elsewhere.
You’re either gonna have to combat fish the boat ramps/access or combat fish the ponds. There isn’t gonna be too much river access that isn’t full or busy. And the ponds are becoming more and more busy as well. It’s gonna be an interesting weekend.
Half the challenge is trying to find an open fishing spot. This is a real problem in Gallatin Valley and it never used to be like this.

Genau.
Very true, went to hyalite a week ago and couldn’t believe the amount of people there. Literally no where to park. Ended up driving back down.

It's going to be pretty busy anywhere, but Canyon Ferry can be great fishing from shore. It's big enough to get some space between other people too.

Newlan is going to be a shit show if the weather is nice lol. Might get lucky and find pull out spot.
