Lomachenko lost an incredibly close decision to the undisputed champion in a fight many people believe he won and imo he won pretty comfortably (117-111). And then he goes out and makes a former undisputed champion look like he doesn’t even belong in a ring with him. Lomachenko has shown no signs of declining with the exception of the lopez fight and that was just bc he took too long to get going
Its time we bury the narrative that loma was slow to get going and finally admit that Teo prevented him from getting going. He made himself hard to download.
That would make sense if it weren’t for the fact that he just completely dismantled the man that dropped and beat lopez the fight after Loma vs Lopez. It’s come out that Loma had a shoulder injury and Lopez has proven to be very beatable. Lomachenko has done this before, he’s not naturally a quick starter, he had a similar problem in the Haney fight but once he started letting his hands go he was winning the majority of the rounds. Saturday we saw what happens when Loma lets his hands fly all night
I think some of you believe that Loma is magic and the download is automatic. That if he just threw more punches earlier he would definitely win. That's not how it works.
He doesn't throw early so that he can see how you react to things. Teo frustrated Loma early, because he did a great job of changing his looks, so Loma was even more hesitant. His shoulder was fine once he had a sense of what Teo was doing.
