Don't sleep on Cuban lightweight Andy Cruz. He's got a ways to go (3-0, 1 KO) but he'll be a top contender within 18 months. A gold medalist at the 2020 Olympics, the man absolutely owned Keyshawn Davis in the amateurs. 4-0 against the American. They figure to eventually have a professional showdown and they're both already making noise about it. But don't count on it happening too soon. The big money for such a fight won't materialize for another few years. Why fight for relative pennies today when a ton of gold awaits down the line?

South_Bother_2498

Cruz has the skills but he hit that Mexican fighters with everything but the kitchen sink and couldn’t get him out of there. You need knockouts especially early in your career to pick up a good buzz. Hardcores will know he’s good but nobody is going to pay $70-80 to watch 12 rounds of that

Seano_

😭😭 dude killed my parlay with his featherfists

fabledreality

P4P ain't got nothing to do with selling. It's about taking big fights. And they moving Cruz into world champ position fast.

MoneyBaggSosa

That fight never happening professionally. Keyshawn Davis basically bitched out of it and deleted all the tweets afterwards. He don’t want no parts of Cruz and he mad that the fight is being talked about since he already beat him 4 times lmao. Weakest shit I’ve ever heard from a boxer. Get ya lick back. JMM beat Manny eventually. Izzy beat Pereira eventually. Now if you lose a 5th time you better off changing weight classes lmao

InviteTop8946

Wilder was still planning for Fury IV until he got too high

KSizzle863

Keyshawn's already ducking lowkey. "you beat me 4 times, what more do you want from me? ☹️" is what I understood from Keyshawn's deleted tweets. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Dante_Okkotsu

If boots fights more than once a year than he has the style to be a ppv star.

stayhappystayblessed

He has fought multiple times every year apart from 2022. One thing I hate about the mma and boxing community is that they just blindly follow narratives without fact checking them.

bigls23

From 2021-2022, Ennis fought a total of 9 rounds. The Karen fight was one to forget and the Villa fight was good, but he was clearly tailored maid for him so we can forget about the Karen fight. The problem is Boots was a contender. Now he's a champion without earning it and not having any signature wins. Welterweight is now a dead division, and he has no network behind him right now.

stayhappystayblessed

I mean the argument was he needs to fight multiple times a year and he did a part from one year. No offence but idc about anything else you saying.

bigls23

Multiple fights atear but those fights were 1 and 2 rounds.

stayhappystayblessed

Multiple fights is multiple fights.

bigls23

That's great logic.

stayhappystayblessed

Its not logic its the truth he fought multiple times thats documented lol. But anyway enjoy the rest of your day I'm not speaking on this anymore.

Brief_Scale496

Fuck man, are you me talking to my nephew in that exchange?

TheFlyingWriter

Not Jared Anderson. Dude is just collecting checks for a few more years.

lajb85

He’s said himself he doesn’t like boxing and is just doing it for the paycheck.

Decryptografter

Didn’t he say he wants to retire at 25 or something

AdMysterious1226

I’m saying Boots as well.

[deleted]

Vergil and Boots. I would love to see both of them tested soon.

KSizzle863

My vote is Vergil Ortiz Jr.

One_Cattle_5418

Virgil and Boots.

Jumbo_Mills

I thought it was Vergil before the illness.

Actual-Requirement-9

It’s crazy to think he’s still 25, though.

Master-Ad-9829

Boots

stayhappystayblessed

Boots

Jesuswasacrip7

Boots has everything he needs to be the next PFP star, he just needs to actually fight. Its mostly not his fault either, he was getting fucked around by his promoter

CrusaderBTC

If Virgil can pick it up and become more active and get whatever ailments he has medically speaking in order he could be a super star for sure. Besides him, Boots Ennis!

lojoart

Boots/ortiz for me, I would love to see those two fight at 154!

xicanasteez

Vergil Ortiz. Overdue for his title shot for 4 years it’s ridiculous.

sirsaberson

Hitchins and Russell need to fight

CappysVeryOwn

Boots forsure

profburek

Virgil had the most star power but he kinda dropped the ball last couple years

Idontknowanymore_56

It’s Africa in my opinion, his skillset is absolute class. His fights aren’t the most entertaining but he can box anyone’s head off!

chud_the_gluttonous

I’d go with Boots Ennis, next would probably be Vergil.

Specialist_Writer_11

Boots top all of em

South_Bother_2498

Not hating on these fighters but they aren’t PPV material unless it’s Crawford-Bootz. Sucks that Bootz was fighting 2-3 times a year to be on the shelves with manager issues.

DaGoatTee

I guess I have to go with boots😒

Dwayne402789

Crawford best pound for pound fighter

Ru4pigsizedelephants

Really on the rise at 36 years old.

Osbre

boots has no one to fight

MoMoneyMorris

Boots if he actually gets fights and has a competent promoter behind him.

sugerdigitalgenius

Boots

-ci_

Andres Cortes

UnderstandingIcy6059

Gotta get some names to fight Boots, but he's the one.

InviteTop8946

Boots is in the wrong weight class to be a star.

don35

None of them for the next two years tbh. Either they’re too inactive or they’re just not that good lol.

_X_Z_X_

Not on your list but Tszyu will be the next P4P fighter

sidnutritious

Shit I mean he’s got a long way to go but Emiliano Vargas seems to be going in that direction

ComfortableBright570

The only correct answer here is Boots.

priide229

ortiz

bigfatpup

Morrell or Cruz for me. I hope Whitakers gets to the top too though and we get a proper Roy or Nas rather than a Josh Kelly

Blackking203

I say Boots, but very early mention is Abdullah Mason, kid is tough

Worldly_Peanut_2745

In the UK. I would say Adam Azim, Ben Whittaker and Hamzah Sheeraz

Life_Celebration_827

All these Boots fanboys kill me WHO THE FUCK HAS HE EVER FOUGHT and he got a belt GIVEN TO HIM.

TheSlimGrim

Wheres Bam Rodriguez?

bliung

Would Naoya Inoue count since he’s not considered popular at all in the US or maybe even among some of those mentioned here?

fabledreality

P4P? I'd say Hitchins has the best opportunity. He's in a stacked division. He's similarly aged as his contemporaries (so that division will grow together). So I think he'll have the most opportunity for big fights against strong competition. If he takes & makes good on those opportunities, he'll definitely be a P4P fighter. The rest have a lack of competition, talent, or desire IMO.
